two bassheavy tracks courtesy of the sport-camp, taking cues from jungle s sweaty basement-past, but dragging them down to berghain for a lil dance. - heavy baggage - has its militant techno-stomp interlaced with a selection of dusty breakbeats, while the slower -i am not beautiful- begins somewhat subdued with muffled breakbeats, before turning nasty with a 4/4 kick and a sub-bass of obviously malicious intent.

finish techno pioneer and dum records boss kimmo rapatti aka mono junk and melody boy 2000 is back with another fine ep of some of his greatest tracks. all three have been released before now, but never all together on the same ep. a1 sound stealer was released in 2007 under the melody boy 200 alias and since then has been hugely sought after, often fetching high prices on discogs. it is a high impact techno track with racing drums and chattery percussion that will take any floor by storm. a2 all alone, again as melody boy 2000, has only been released on cd before now, as part of a label compilation back in 2002. this one is deep and rubbery, spaced out and elastic and is full of moodiness and melody. both b-side tracks were written as mono junk and both were written in 1992. first up, apache acid came on vinyl own music man and is a face melting, hundred miler per hour banger with manic 303s buried within. finally, ‘beyond the darkness’ was a key early techno track to come from finland and has previously been released on dum010. says the artist of the track, “an ensoniq asr-10 arrived on the market and studio engineer perttu bought it right away, but i never liked to use sounds that someone else had made. we sampled the track’s bassline, strings and others from my jx-3p separately and mixed it all together.” the result is an atmospheric track with swirling pads, icy synths and form drums that will make people march, no doubt.

two thousand has always been the official symbol of the future. two thousand has been told, represented, drawn and played centuries before the year two thousand. and now it s past. -i don t wanna get rid of this: all the changes you re making now, will simply belong to two thousand. we belong to two thousand-. white label 10- w/ unknown edits that dig heavily into jazz samples but they go beyond, creating sonic impro jams including menacing low pitched arpeggios, celestial breaks of synths and far away lights of a black continent pulsating under the crisp mastering work. included is a nice printed poster with artwork from 2000 himself.

we are happy to welcome back dego & the 2000 black family on neroli again after their previous banger and instant classic * find a way* from 2013. here they walk in similar territories with *don t stop (let it go)* a disco-boogie monster with strings to die for courtesy of izzi dunn. on the flipside the acid stomper * save it til later* with that unique dego twist. essential!!!

cromby is an exciting addition to the london house music scene: originally hailing from belfast he has made camp in the british capital and brought his mpc 2000 xl with him. the young man who has grown up listening to chez damier and moodymann makes use of the japanese sampler from akai in a highly fresh and creative way combining raw drums with sweet and melancholic pads and chords. on his * planets and parks ep* cromby displays a very nice balance between a traditional deep house understanding and a forward thinking attitude and is thus just perfect for tenderparks’s idea of musicality. as far as the artwork of the record is concerned the beautiful black and white image is the last part of tenderparks current series concieved by art director till sperrle and photographer magdalena bichler. and as you ve come to expect from tenderpark all tracks have been mastered and cut by helmut erler at dubplates & mastering once more.

last spotted together on the cut some three years ago with their eponymous debut lp, the crew like kaidi tatham, akwasi mensah, matt lord, and dego ‘ranks’ mcfarlane reunite for this fresh 2000black 12&#8243,,,,,. off the christmas card list is apparently a precursor to a second album from the quartet and it’s the last 12&#8243,,,,, in a fine year for 2000black that saw the killer dego lp as the centrepiece. the a-side is dedicated to the title cut, an endlessly slinky boogie number that really showcases the collective musicality of this crew, whilst the b-side is split between “hurry whilst they are away” and “fila high”. the former is bugged out beat down west london-style, and the latter a killer latin-flecked cut.

after one new ep from coopers kim rapattis dum records is re-releasing some of his biggest classics on this douple a-side release. mono junk’s channel b was first time on vinyl on trope records 1995 and melody boys monotone fantastique on dum records 1994 (dum-014). never ending grooves for you pleasure.
