our second vinyl release 2012 introduces a new series, the bias jams, on ilian tape. we start off with a compilation of 4 tracks from japan, serbia, argentina and italy. after some internal investigations we found out that imugem orihasam is not only a japanese shaolin, but also a yoga guru. his bias cut sounds like an instruction for a deep meditation in a forest. we chose a forest, because forests need to be saved. too many black puffs of vapour are killing them at the moment. our late riser regen probably didnt had that a mind, but we declare him to be an environmental activist from now on. now how should we include paper tape in this story � had a look online and found the term perforated paper tape. pretty interesting stuff, it was one of the first methods for data storage. ok are you guys joking? orbital? there is no way to write a good story with those track names. >an atomic orbital is a mathematical function that describes the wave-like behavior of either one electron or a pair of electrons in an atom<. yeah right! well in fact its enough to know that the bias jams series will feature some heavy bomboclaat bias cuts from various artists! cheers

the cl interpretations, based on the sixth melted recordings release cl versions of echtzeit, were firstly divided into two sucessful releases: part 1 and 2. now that more artists of circle of friends of melted have done their own interpretations, a third part was released. this time all tracks were based on the same track three, but now with a wide-spread spectrum of techno � from melodic, deep and dubtech to harder, diffused and current state of the art techno. monomood, known from the melted recordings friended label etui records, starts with his constructive warm and melodic rebuild called 3cl of echo. also aerror is here into deep dubtechno, much different as his last version of part 1. sector varied his track for part 1 into a more deep dub but kicking techno track terminals rmx. bassart, an austrian techno and electro dj, comes a with highly diffused hard techno interpretation � his first vinyl appearance. it is the first techno track (called cotta re-dub) of bons on vinyl, too. he is in the circle of friends and supporter of melted for many years, since the start in 1999.

the german based label kitty corner records turns back the wheel and starts a new series of fresh experimental techno music. the opening track hachzem from bristols kanji kinetic comes with storming mutant basslines and rave stabs collide over a thumping techno beat. for battle creek brawl rrritalin and cynthia stern take it back to 92 with pitched up rap vocals over a prodigy style breakbeat hardcore track.spacefaces hands of a lunatik is frenetic and crazy wonky techno, while lukes anger rounds off the ep with the robotic 909 warehouse beats of throwing switches.

die letzte fsoj vol. 11 ist schon fünf jahre her, die erste kam 1995 raus. ich habe das gefühl die zeit dreht zurück. ein bischen erinnern mich die tracks - vor allem die langsamen stücke, wie so mancher sound - an die ersten >future sounds of jazz< compilations. ich kann sagen, ich hatte eine gewisse leerstelle von 2007 bis ende 2010, sah weder die notwendigkeit, noch hatte ich lust empfunden, eine neue fsoj zu machen. es gab seit 2007 schon den ein oder anderen tollen track, aber nicht genug, um gleich eine compilation daraus zu zimmern. zugegeben war ich, wie viele andere, mehr dem disco-, edit- und deep house-fieber verfallen. bin ich immer noch, aber die musik fusioniert wieder stärker mit den vibes, die ich für fsoj suchte.
es begann in 2010, festigte sich in 2011, ein déjà-vu ritt mich plötzlich, der viel beschworene zeitgeist wehte wieder. haufenweise gute tracks, interessante projekte, die von der Ästhetik, vom sound und feeling den frühen 90ern, oder meinem gutdünken ihre reminiszenzen aufwiesen. immerhin sind seit der vol. 1 schon zwei generationen nachgewachsen, sagt man doch, daß alle sieben jahre eine neue generation entsteht. ich denke, die jüngeren projekte (z.b.: lo tide aus australien, anchorsong und ragout delapin beides projekte aus japan, scrimshire, letherette, laszlo, sepalcure, eden) die hier vertreten sind, spiegeln das eindrücklich wieder.
