ltd to 300!tokyo wax is a peckham based coterie of creative individuals who draw their influence from varied cross-section of electronic music s heritage. tokyo wax intend to outlet music that both reflects and expands upon their influences spanning across spacious, loose-limbed headphone pieces and tough, floor-focused club tracks. in to inaugurate the project are label heads presence and persona backed up by l.i.e.s and russian torrent versions affiliate ngly who collectively turn in a package bearing flecks of dub, percussion-lead house and tenebrous, left-of-centre electronica. tw001 was funded by a kickstarter campaign with all proceeds from record sales going towards the u.k based addison s disease self help group.

sexual harrassment was started by radio dj lynn tolliver whilst he was working at mca records, and the cleveland-based group had a gold single on the heat/montage label. their rarer 6-track album from 1983 has become a collectors item. to do their tracks justice, we asked modern day artists who are synonymous with a sex-driven funk attitude to either cover or reinterpret the originals.

sandwell districts rrose launches a new label with a follow up to >motormouth variations<, last years unlikely collaboration with legendary improviser and synthesizer pioneer bob ostertag (named one of 2011s top 50 albums by the wire magazine).
for the debut release on eaux, rrose searched through ostertags cassette archives to discover a lost gem of studio improvisation from 1977. >the surgeon general< sees the barely post-teen bob ostertag exploring feedback techniques with an early buchla modular synthesizer, tape delay, flute and violin. the results are uncharacteristically moody, spacious, and well ahead of their time. on the flip, rrose provides two new revisions. >no child left behind< is a noisy and hypnotic acid-laden beast designed for dancefloor damage, while >her insides laid bare< takes the original into murky subaquatic territory. look for much more to come from rrose and eaux in the coming months.
