there is a fantastic quality to gavin russoms work, an otherworldliness that is subtle yet palpable. its heard-or felt, more precisely-in all of his projects, including the crystal ark, black meteoric star and his numerous recordings with delia gonzalez. all of russoms sonic astral projections, with their textures and atmospheric layers, demonstrate his astounding production skills and modular wizardry. as dfas studio engineer, he was entrusted with the hefty task of maintaining the labels analog stockade. russom has built custom gear for the likes of james murphy, black dice and holy ghost!, has remixed artists including juan maclean, cut copy and caribou, and filled out the wonderful music of lcd soundsystem. so its no wonder that russoms newest solo outing, night sky, reflects the talent and experience accrued in all those roles with both stunning precision and audible clarity. add patience to the above list as well.

pirahnahead and diviniti, these names are synonymous with quality dance music. since 2004s >find a way< they have been two of dance musics most prolific songwriters (and even co-wrote a few songs for les nubians on their 2011 full length >nu revolution<). with each release they have provided powerful production, smooth vocals, angelic harmony, and overall, musical excellence. this time, the super collaborators return to the foreground with one of the best tracks of 2011, >(just like)a dream<. as the sixth release from whasdat music, this soothing track has been supported by the likes of vinny da vinci, ian friday, paris cesvette and neil pierce as well as phil asher (who included it on soul heavens miami sampler mix). also, joining in as remixers are charles webster and jose carretas. both have previously collaborated with pirahnahead & diviniti, topping charts on traxsource.com. killekills next release comes from snuff crew, a crew you might and should have heard about. snuff crews mission is to bring back the fun on the dancefloors worldwide. the masked duo is known for their jacking live shows that combine the raw energy of early chicago and acid house with a fresh and modern sound. rumour has it that they come from >somewhere in germany<, but their sounds draw a very heavy influence from the original acid house city of chicago alongside italo-disco and old school techno flavours. the use of old school roland boxes as sound sources and almost non existent use of even basic effects means their sound is rough, raw and aimed squarely at the dancefloor. their records have been released on labels like skylax, gigolo records, rush hour, playhouse and many more, but the two guys also run their own imprint called snuff trax where they release music of jackmates like kink and neville watson as well as their own tracks and collaborations with artists such as legendary robert owens. thats enough for now with the name dropping. killekill has got a lot of great exclusive material from the guys but decided to release only two very strong and distinctive tracks for now: domo on the one side is a proper acid monster that will go down on dancefloors worldwide like a hurricane and leave the dancers breathless. eat this on the other side is a rudimentary chicago jack track that might well have been taken off a dance mania record from 1992. this track is working its way with nothing but a few drum tracks and a vocal sample and is pure raw sexual energy.
