repress 2018... following on from isaac tichauer s street lessons release, the mysterious loft records calls in the talents of bicep, hackman, dorsia and lancelot for a choicest remix package. the french express signing turned many heads when he dropped his lauded devotion lp back in 2012, and since then the australian producer has risen to become a formidable name within modern day electronic music. therefore it s only fitting that an all-star cast were chosen to remix his latest release on loft records. bicep, who had an enormous 2015 with releases on aus and 50 weapons, begin the release with the only remix of higher level - a break infused cut fashioned for the dancefloor with a penetrating melody, echoing vocals and soaring pads. the first of three street lessons remixes then comes from hackman, known for his work on 20/20 vision and futureboogie, who incorporates serene synths and subtle stabs to transform the original into a quirky renovation with elements of funk. london duo dorsia then step up with a cacophony of sounds that build in suspense with the introduction of fuzzy atmospherics, until fellow australian and w&o street tracks artist lancelot generates a cavernous dub containing the originals infectious hook whilst implementing resounding rimshots and wobbly keys.

watergate affairs is a brand new offering featuring residents, regulars and affiliated artists that have developed close ties to the club through the years. over the course of four tracks, jimi jules, lee jones, la fleur and david mayer & sebastian voigt perfectly display the sound of watergate. diving right in is jimi jules and he hasnt let lost a step, picking up where he left off with his stellar bogota ep earlier this year by churning out a burner. 6% is rooted in a heaving low end groove while hypnotic tones spiral around a modulating lead that never lands in the same place, ensuring a twisted dance floor venture.

wah wah 45s return to the 12- format to bring you three incredible re-works from french disco don the reflex, for our very own legendary canadian/haitian keyboard wiz henri-pierre noel. funky spider dance is a percussion heavy bomb filled to the brim with henri s soaring piano licks and infectious female vocal hooks. the reflex has taken what was already a sure-fire club favourite, and created something of a dance floor destroyer. his rework of a fifth of beethoven takes its time to build into another heavy hitter. as the beats make way for henri s deft keyboard flourishes, the recognition of this cover of the walter murphy classic (taken from the saturday night fever soundtrack) begins to dawn - and as it does, it s clear that once again the dream team of hpn and the reflex have worked their magic! last, but certainly not least, the reflex s revision of back home..., sweet home is a modern island funk masterpiece with organ and tropical guitar riffs making way for sunny brass stabs all underpinned by foot friendly beats. the original versions of funky spider dance and back home..., sweet home can be found on henri s one more step lp, and his take of a fifth of beethoven was recently available on 7-inches of wax - all on wah wah 45s of course. the reflex revisions all appear here together on vinyl, in fact anywhere, for the very first time!

gari romalis and lello di franco - dreamin for the uninitiated, our man gary romalis is the unsung master of detroit’s house and techno scene. having djed across the motor city’s top venues for the last three decades, gary is somewhat of a seminal figure for many of detroit’s djs currently at the forefront. following a slew of high quality releases on various labels over the past few years, gary now unleashes that special flavour on us for skylax 142! he is not alone though. with him, he brings all round italian partymaker, and top selector in his own right, lello di franco. let me tell you, this duo’s collaboration is something to behold. throughout all 3 tracks on the record, gary and lello maintain the essence of what the detroit underground is all about, stripped back tracks with soul that never feel like they go ‘big’ for the sake of it. while dreamin (wanda mix) may be packing a big kick and power clap combo, it’s the elegantly filtered, jazzy sample that will leave you wishing that the track lasted forever. the vibe takes a dip right into the deep in detroit underground (beat dat mix). spacious pad synths alongside a mesmeric vocal carry us through. taking a step back up, afrobeat rounds off the ep, made with a solid toolkit of afro-centric samples.

every artistic scene is lead by their artists and kept alive by their fans, but mostly by its talents, who can look outside of the box and have a great relationship with their crowd. junior c is a great example of how this theory comes true for a dj and producer. in this ep he has worked with h.o.s.h., gui boratto and gunjah to create new approaches of his latest single “coming over” and the result are 3 different interpretations of this dance floor timeless song, full of groove, lush harmonies and organic undertones. it doesn t take much to imagine this ep owning dance floors in the months and years to come. engineered to perfection by label head gui boratto, it s an exciting step for the imprint and the project alike.

burly, uk-styled rave tackle from berlin’s phon.o for tectonic after spending the last few years exploring subsets of garage-techno on 50 weapons. clearly carving towards tectonic’s ruder ‘floor criteria, he plays out the dank, shadow-boxing 2-step drums and swooping subs of mercurial next to the aggier grime slap of u8 phunk for the berlin scallies, and yokes some splintered breaks into a submerged jungle-techno chassis with bell blender.

after the mindblowing release of andy kolwes, its time for matei tulbure to step up and do his thing. first making waves as part of the infamous groove duo tc studio, matei is here exploring sonic science on his own. for ptx007 * gateway ep*, he crafted three superb and diverse cuts for any occasion. we are really looking forward to this one!

wtm038 is definitely an outstanding release, something between house and real love to technoid sounds. the long a side comes with a classical intro and turns into a p erfect groovy but still monumental house track. the b starts with the track * call me a cap* and is the third collaboration with dop . great melodic atmospheric sounds with a perfect arrangement between vocals and all the typical addicted masomenos style. the second one on the b side has a featuring with tobi neumann who releases also his third ep with the french duo. * pushpush* is more trippy with a great step sequencer arrangement. all together, great release again from masomenos and this will be a special one which you surely wont forget

first light is the first full-length album of original songs from easy star all-stars. the easy star all-stars have built a huge following around the world, having sold over 350.000 records and played shows in over 30 countries on 6 continents. the band - a collective from the nyc scene overseen by producer/guitarist michael goldwasser - has always played original music in its live set, some of which was released on until that day, an original ep in 2008. first light is an important step in the band’s story, demonstrating a wide range of approaches to reggae, from progressive to classic, roots to futurist, confirming the all-stars place as one of the most influential acts on the us reggae scene. the album includes 12 songs and one dub, with guest appearances by the meditations, cas haley, junior jazz, lady ann and tony tuff.

with ceres, rebecca von kalinowsky marks her first release on rote liebe. an athmospheric and bass-heavy offering, this one-sided vinyl will fit into techno and half-step settings alike.

the last release of l.s.g. on superstition the best of l.s.g. - the singles reworked in 2004 is now over 1o years ago. in this days l.s.g. was officially set to finished by oliver himself, in order to create a distance to the former commercial trance scene. from the first day l.s.g. was standing always for a variety of sound directions. some called it trance, downbeat or triphop well, with the slight difference of having 2015, l.s.g is back and has now taken the step into a very deep sound - so to speak: back to the roots and restart.

bad taste recordings hit 2016 in severe kinetic style with a fresh pair of tracks launching the identity of malux, the new neurofunk-focussed moniker of established bass producer skope (inspected). with turbine and fonk the agenda is clear – energetic, funk-fuelled dnb driven by detailed low-frequency design and a boisterous rave vibe.
turbine carries with it a stripped aesthetic, with a percussive pattern driven by the snare and wonky plucked synth work. this is heads-down, bassface material for ravers to get into step to.
fonk on the flip hits a cheeky upbeat tone, switching slickly between bass textures punctuated by staccato sonic fragments.
with support from scene titans such as andy c, the upbeats and radio play from friction on bbc r1 and crissy criss on kiss fm, malux has immediately caught the attention of those who know. bad taste hits the nail on the head again, introducing another name with a big destiny into the halls of dnb.

*retraieste romaneste* is a lp in which music speaks for it self, like the translation of the title *relive the romanian way* this original minimal and deep sound of young artist dragutesku brings us one step closer to the roots. the track names are picked after the names of great writers and poets from last century topped by the original artwork, this album makes us relive those moments of pure, inspiring originality once again.

(2lp + dl code) spanish producer miguel sar has been a purveyor of tough, no-nonsense techno for over a decade now, running his own cyclical tracks label as well as appearing on other imprints like token, semantica and psyks non series. sar returns to the latter for chronicles of the future, his second album and first since 2008s contacto.

roberto capuano has delivered drumcode an immense 3 track ep that will blow out the cobwebs and see roberto step back onto drumcode with a bang. lacing each track with pads and tantalising hook lines, capuano s tracks fire on all cylinders with good use of vocals and drum rhythms. his tracks have a certain swagger that only roberto can conjure.

this is the second record of the modern house quintet, a french band who makes house music. like the former release, this new one features two house/deep house tracks: * marmande* starts with a lush pad and staccato bassline soon joined by percussions and an organ chord. the second part of the track introduces gradually a flute line plus a powerful open hi-hat. * bellevue* opens with a pad and a filtered rhodes synth supported by a low-fi bassline. that structure evolves step by step until the break introduces strong open hit-hats followed by another flute line.

constant sound founders jon woodall and burnski helm the label s latest 12inch under their constant name, with dub life featuring remixes from blackhall & bookless, s.a.m and a scott. dub life is a slithering, slippery and frictionless house roller with tunnelling percussive patterns, restless drums and myriad synth smears that really pull you down into a seductive groove. subtle vocals add character and ensure this one will keep floors locked for days. jaunt pair blackhall & bookless then step up with a fired up, peak time techno leaning bomb with barrelling kicks, ravey stabs and detroit referencing pads that really grab your attention. the s.a.m. reshape then offers up elastic, spaced out deep house vibes with airy hi hats, lots of height in the drums and plenty of feeling in the slithering synth lines that lace up the track. closing out the package is a remix from returning label artist a scott, whose fine remix is a lovably flabby and cavernous track with oodles of reverb, rattling train track like grooves and atmospheric pads that swirl all around you as you drift in his air beats.

after some time of successful clubnights sd is moving to the next level and takes the first step of journey to bring to surface music and share its sound. the sd label is now a reality. for the first release unc is taking the lead as original mix. it is a 2-track ep, consisting of the original by unc and a remix by sleeparchive. 43v3r. if we were to choose a color it would be black with bits and pieces of gold. yet, uplifting, the kind of thing you need to stimulate body and mind, wake up the senses, the desire to cherish the moment and surrender to the sound. sleeparchive s interpretation comes to enhance the beat leaving his personal stigma in a delicate manner
