vertex is an exploration in two parts. the a sideÆs vertex and the locus of points explore the trackier side of tejadaÆs work meant mostly for vinyl play. both tracks make good use of strong wavetable chorded sounds, which are modulated throughout. the rhythms of the chords make up the identity of the track with elements coming in and out. vertex showcases a more layered approach to take the track from a percussive to a smooth feel. the locus of points follows more of a straight up techno approach sounding simple and effective. the b-side explores the more melodic and arrangement based side of tejadaÆs work. liquid mirror is a track rich in layers. 3 modular synth layers provide the initial modulating melodic ground work which is then complimented by lush tejada keyboard work bringing the song to itÆs apex and then reducing it back to itÆs start all while backed by tejadaÆs powerful drum work. p.l.l. he s the man of the moment. james nidecker, rising star of the dutch technoscene, is always sure to raise an eyebrow or two. not only his djsets, where the amsterdam based artist is often getting the crowds wild with his dark gothpunklike outfits, but also his recent productions can be called mindblowing. nidecker perfectly knows how to combine his dark vocals with uplifting beats, combining influences from electro and minimal techno. s.t.a.l.k.e.r is the culmination of his talents, a hit record already wandering around the dutch clubscene for a while, now finally released on alexander koning s upstruct imprint.
the aside of this release provides a more than outstanding remix from dave ellesmere. renowned for his collaboration with producer 2000 and one under their name microfunk, but nowadays also reaching international fame under his own guise, ellesmere turns s.t.a.l.k.e.r into an ideal dj tool. with a length close to nine minutes, his mix slowly takes the funk of nidecker s rhythms to an upwinding, more techhouse based floorburner.

september 2008, nima gorji is spending 1 month at the house of his friend babalow baba ifa leri oma in ibiza. in cuban santeria, a babalow is the father of secrets, a shaman, a spiritual guide. the philosophy of ifa was brought by the slaves from afrika, especially nigeria, to the caribbean islands. it became santeria in cuba, vodoo in haiti, condomble in brasil. the yoruba language is used in the santerias books and the ceremonies as chants. nima assisted to some ceremonies where the babalow is cleaning somones soul, energy, or aura, and establish a direct conection with a special energy called orisha. each orisha has specific attributes like a color, tools, beads, and various patterns of percussion rhythm. nima is listening to all these beats coming directly from cuba, he samples some parts, and produces a new ep : azul y verde. we are blue is a tribute to yemaya, the mother of the sea. she represents maternity, fertility, and life on earth in general. her color is blue and her number 7. the chant is performed by lazaro ross a cuban artist who died in 2005. lazaro was a legendary akpwon, or lead singer in the yoruba tradition. warriors is a tribute to oggun, another main orisha. he represents the force and the work of human kind. he is working with metal, and he always carry a knife. his color is green and his number is 3.
