the tracks from the recently released full length of nublu orchestra beg for remixes, and the underground resistance militiamen take up the task for sketches of nyc. the i 80 mix is a big thumper, using a scatted vocal line and dissonant horn hits from the original to add drama to the build of an acid bassline and some tastefully tribal drums. the seventh tunnel mix falls squarely in the tech jazz genre that was essentially invented by the detroit collective. the original elements of sketches are used generously, with what seems like a grace note on the upright being turned into a looped bassline, over which the lead vocals and saxophone ping back and forth. must have!!

finally we manage to get a new ep from the man carl falk. he was the first on the label with the great hz-1 and hz-3-eps that we repressed all the time. you know what to expect and this is no exception, full on tribal-party-techno all the way. the first track is with a little acid twist. the rest is just full-on massive grooves!

the eponimous release of detroit wax.coms 1st single is already reason enough to be hyped! that could not be all could it…? of course not! it also smarts so good as it is the first ever proper release of eric d. clark in the states, plus since it was liscensed from firm recordings by eddie fowlkes for his spankin (to coin a term) new label www.detroitwax.com, implies that this song is definitely of the highest in dance music quality!

long time activist on the french electronic scene, léonard de léonard is back after two critically acclaimed albums, successful collabs (his duo with maxx aka mcuhoh from the goats was a rated as one of 2006 best french live acts) and a departure to berlin. part of the ekler o shock roster (data, danger, terry poison), léo is a talented producer whose influences vary from classic techno and old school hip hop to all the modern forms of digital grooves & ghetto musics. now back with an ep dedicated to the dancefloors, in the form of a tribute to horror cult movies, léo asked his new berlin friends chris de luca (ex. funkstorung) and phon.o (shitkatapult), and paris rising kids donovan to remix his single. the result is here, catchy as a scream, hot as hell!
