without a doubt it is one of the strongest pieces so far to come out of the mind of matt star. morphology, the title track is a trip that is leading us directly into the center of the dancefloor. it is characterized by its enormous dynamic, a deep & dirty roughness that comes up alongside an unstoppable kind of a mesmerizing groove - this one, for sure, is going to be loved by all fans of the usual suspects that are playing in the global champions league of modern high quality techno music. mttstr on the flip side seem to be building up a bit more subtle. both of them show matts talent for patiently modulating sounds creating almost extraterrestrial fluid grooves. both sides of the record are bringing an overall energy containing several well placed breakdowns and carefully crafted moments of high tension before matt is letting things kick back into full force again.

part iii ? manipulation musik. manipulation musik is the darkest and most cinematic piece on this collection of eps. delicate manipulated melodies and melancholic strings moves in and out of a crackling and distorted soundscape, telling an experimental sound tale with a sad ending. on b-side redshape (present, delsin) makes a remix solely using sounds from the original. redshape described his tape dub version like this: ?think disco dub, plonk & pain?. not much to add to that ? it kind of says it all. enjoy!

harbour city sorrow will showcase different sides of techno. after exploring the electro side of things we now go more towards the deeper housey side of techno. xdb (kosta athanassiadis, metrolux, sistrum) is walking on the border of various styles, creating his own unique blend of techno and house.. youll find 3 tracks of his hybrid style on here. deep sound layers and almost jackin rhythms. well crafted raw analog tracks that will appeal to the club jocks as well as the more adventurous deejay and home listener. music that is not fitting to just one main category.. just how we like it.

killer new 12 inch with no information or song titles, simply called >scott grooves white label of the month<. the a-side is an incredible techno track full of energy guaranteed to move the crowd at peak time. the b-side is a grimey, acidic drum work out that will have the heads banging and bootys shaking. cant wait to see what mr. grooves has in store for us next month

for release no.4 sudden drop enlisted the talents of russian based recording artist & dj tripmastaz, who has been producing for the likes of morris audio and most noticeably dj sneaks magnetic recordings imprint since 2004. with each release his sound seems to get more defined and mature and our attention which seriously pricked when we first heard his tracks being played on jus-eds radio show. we quickly got in touch and asked for some tracks. first up is >utilized stock sounds<, originally produced in 2003 this melancholic slab of deep techno deservedly finally sees the light of day with a grimy lo-fi feel and enough dance floor nous to work the floor admirably. flip side track >botinko dub< injects a big, cavernous bass line and razor sharp hats n snares.

in fact, >in a hole<, the a-side of their latest 12 inch, is even more dream-steeped than its predecessors. relying on vintage (and in some cases, home made) gear, simon and tsai have constructed a song that is syrupy in pace. darkened tones mingle with floating percussion and vocals processed to nearly melancholic depths. >cant feel my knees< picks up the tempo, and feels slightly sunnier in comparison (>perhaps a result of practicing for the first time in a place with windows<, according to simon), with rippling keys that give way to an open, spacious sigh and an almost playful interlude of warmth and bass punctuations. the two have said theyre interested in the meeting point of house and noise, and thats particularly apparent on the two remixes that appear here. >in a hole dub< is slower, more bare-boned and ghostlier than the track from which its derived, while >cant feel my knees dub< is filled with white noise emissions and hissing electro shocks.

on the a side, asc rolles out another deep and precise track on levitated records. on the flip, method one and stunna collaborate again to continue this exciting partnership. this track touches on elements of techstep, electro, atmospheric and leftfield electronica and >orange to red< bridges the gap between the dancefloor and the science lab.

desolat is proud to present a release where veterans meet manon aka manon maeder has been part of the swiss techno and house scene since the early nineties. starting with illegal parties in bern, later involvement in legendary early days afterhours at the >oxa” in zurich, followed by first productions in 1996, residency at >hive< club and her involvement with the >vision< festival, manon is today probably more thrilling than ever before. for desolat, she delivers remarkable tracks that sound like a sonic snapshot of a balearic sunset. pat carnal speaks about manon getting lost in brasil 20 years ago and the conversation was recorded at one >formbar< afterhour. guitar virtuoso mats küpfer added his part at studio willeneger in bern. we d like to tell you more about >que cara é essa” but its probably better to listen to the music. first remix comes from another veteran and one of our heroes, stacey pullen, a kosmik messenger and an innovator from the second wave of detroit techno. he takes vocal snippets from the original and wraps them up in his trademark percussive, driving, stripped down sound. second remix comes from desolats own tini representing a new generation of electronic music talents. she turns manons original in a dark claustrophobic shaker that will gently take you by the hand and stay on your side until the next sunrise

the two dutch artists warren fellow and michel steinbach team up again to show what good dance music is. but this time they give their debut on mannheim based label circle music. again they created a unique eclectic mix like they did on their successful cosmic ep in 2009 or together with legendary todd terry with >got a soul< in 2010 where they proved that they are very able to handle house music. on the a side we have some straight beats with classic percussions at the beginning. but very soon fellow and steinbach come around with some synthesizer hook which melody is quoting the nineties. the vocals only brings it down to a round figure.

sasha carassi is one of the best italian techno djs and producers. since 2002 his immense output gives the worldwide techno scene a lot of exciting material. numerous releases on labels like drumcode, sleaze, respekt recordings, 8 sided dice or driving forces he gained a lot of attention and in the following teamed up with artists like joseph capriati ,adam jay, brian sanhaji,spektre or virgil enzinger. his latest release on harthouse called >white sucker< last year was massive. now we are absolutely positive that sasha carassi, founder of globox and cofounder of phobiq should be part of the harthousefamily. with the a-side track 3 44 sasha takes off with everything important to a good techno track: a nice innocent intro takes place and blows everything off with the entering beats and percussions. the twisted use of science fiction sounds sets interesting highlights what makes the track a real peak time pearl. the first track on the b side continues energy and charakter of >344< but turns the meaning of synthsizer use into a bit more psychological torture porn.

we are happy to welcome a new artist into our family. young jose pouj is one of the new emerging talents from the spanish techno scene. his speciality is hard edged techno, but with a touch of class. a sound carefully crafted and skilfully developed. his blood poisoning ep starts with waken, a scientific techno number with a solid rhythm arrangement, fat basses and sharp synth workout, a funky electronic steamroller designed for body and mind. the b side opens with sepsis, a harder approach to modern techno with a strong drum programming, sweeping drones, an arpeggiated bassline and a bunch of bleeps that appear and disappear throughout the arrangement. an anabolic track that slowly goes to a mental break and turns once more to madness. the release closes with organic return, where the main course is made up of carefully programmed synthetic drums, till an emb-flavoured bassline comes into the track, reminding us of the good old pulsinger style. summing up, this is the work of a great young producer that injects new blood into our label. watch out for forthcoming adventures of this new talent.

in a time where we have seen a full through back to the sound of the 90s where almost every new record sounds exactly like it was made back in the day. its so refreshing to have producers like martin tc around. hailing from montevideo uruguay, former member of the now defunct monoblock project martin tc proves again that its all about the cutting edge of modern funkyness. delivering a ultra funky, jazz injected techno bomb of an ep. we are proud to present martin tcs first solo project and most definitely not his last. in situ on side a is an exploration in chicago style jack combined with a keen sense latin groove and definitely is the money ticket, a sure shot bomb, a burner, a floor filler, a wmd, explosive, techno poetry in motion… if i do say so… side b continues with the funkyness of bukle but takes in further into a more challenging up tempo realm that can go either way in a house or techno set. al fin y al cabo and vice versa are an excellent reminder that techno jazz is still here and that the swing will never die.

mutiny makes its debut on ovum recordings with two dance floor monsters. longtime friends, this collaboration seemed destined to eventually happen. they have been quiet for a while but the boys are back with a fresh sound! on the a side we have the title track >swimming with sharks<, an eerie and mysterious rolling tech house monster. this track is made for a big system and will drive the floor nuts. on the b side we have >you didnt want to<, which is another peak time monster. with its underlying vocal, this track builds with swinging drums and great use of effects. two incredible peak time tracks that should be in your sets through the summer

another super funky bunch of groovin disco goodies from the par-tay camp. first up is got the hots for u, a wonderful edit of a lost double exposure track, removing some dubious vocal sections and stretching out the groove and turning it into a funky floor-filling monster. the flip side sees two more spot-on extended edits, firstly high on da boogie, a smokin funky groove with awesome vocals and the dirtiest of b-lines while æfunk it up sees 70s glam rockers the sweet stretched out for maximum dancefloor appeal. great stuff!

hh3 is a techno masterpiece by top notch producer bill youngman. its futuristic and cold. massive dark drones and ambience build up its very unique atmosphere. for their remix of hh3, techno shooting stars sandwell district added some industrial flavor. imagine a steel worm drilling its way into the dancers souls and you almost got it. the last track of the ep entitled trilogy, shows another totally different side of bill: electronica thatís been made to tear your heart apart. wicked!

we introduce 3 talented international newcomers as the start of a new series on wolfskuil ltd. the amount of fantastic demos we get in at the office is overwhelming sometimes. so it made sense to us to make a best of series out of all these wonderfull tracks. three can sometimes be to much for an intimate conversation, but definitely not in this case.

new kanada enters the emerging spring season with two cuts of hope and despair. on the a-side, adam marshall drops >vamp< - a 12-minute modal jazz monster that winds its way from a bass heavy dub to an swirling psychedelic quilt of sound. dripping modular sequences for girls in white. on the flip, nk presents a cut from toronto-based matt maaskant. >outside the cave< was recorded in his fathers grain silo in northern ontario and evokes smokey post-club memories. murrs delicate, gorgeous mix-down freezes the track into an example of fragile beauty - complete with fuzz clicks, choir ensemble and a deep 808 kick. burial meets bon iver. we are really feeling this one. music to fall out of love to. limited to 250 copies - clear red vinyl edition.

when delorean toured with teengirl fantasy last spring they told us about a song that had really blown them away. when they shared it with us we understood why. it was called >cheaters< and sounded like an instant classic. very different to the trademark psychedelic jams of the duo, the song was homage to classic chicago house from a modern perspective. built around layers of blissful synths and borrowing the vocals of first committees >cheaters never win<, it had that kind of energy that we sometimes miss in contemporary dance music. later that summer, john talabot visited new york and became aware that the track was going to be released by true panther sounds only as part of the album >7am<. something sparked inside us. we felt it was not fair that such an incredible track had to share its vinyls grooves with other songs so we thought it would be nice to dedicate a full maxi side to it.

aldo cadiz, chilean dj and producer, head of disco royal music and resident of santiago beats already crossed our paths with his collaborations with basti grub on desolat x007. he returns to desolat with solo productions and here you have chance to dive into aldo’s world of dance music where south american rhythms meet fragments of musical heritage of detroit. mastered with love by enrico mercaldi, the desolat x series continues to release raw tracks that literally invite the dj to play with loops, hooks and create something new. but you can also just put the needle on the colored record and let the groove treat your dancefloor nicely
