ahead of him releasing a full length album on mos in 2016, key label artist marcoantonio spaventi is teasing us with a three track prelude ep. spaventi hails from italy, but is based in amsterdam, and is someone who deals in misty, chicago referencing house sounds that are loaded up with a real sense of analogue jack. as well as on mos he releases on slow motion, most excellent ny and pizzico records, and in summer 2015 he put out a leftfield electro, italo, soundtrack and disco full length, viaggi, that showed he has great range in the studio.

almost exactly three years after nr&, a project uniting &me’s and rampa’s production with the voice of new york disco-house-siren nomi, dropped their debut ep, we finally can announce a new chapter in this ongoing transatlantic menage. this very “spoken for” ep is comprised of two new tracks, that again fuse songwriting with floor-demands and showcase the same crackling and pulse quickening passion that instantly has become nr&’s trademark. so here’s the evidence – a long distance relationship is not necessarily doomed to get boring after a while. “taste like” on a might be conceived as the club-affair of those two new joints. a tune indulging in self-control, extending the pre- eruptive moment of excitement to track length. there is nomi’s unmistakeable sexed up oration, flanked by an affirmative thunderstorm of claps, then a bass heavy bridge, overflowing into a noise brushed finale. altogether a tasty flavour carrier for an effective floor heating. “spoken for” is not only the title track, but also the hymn coming out of the flipside ambush. there is no kick necessary to underpin what nomi’s charismatic croon is laying down. therefore a wise choice to let the arrangement of interspersed field recordings, percussive details and piano- and synth-decoration exercise in unobtrusiveness. safe to say, this tune will refine many future peaktimes anyway.

italys enrico sedda has been releasing material since 2011 both under his own name and as 000 via the likes of sleep is commercial and amam. here we see enrico return with his pure analogue sound under his own name, launching amams new vinyl offshoot imprint mama recordings, a new venture for the italian imprint but retaining the understated warmth and class of its parent label.

whilst its neighbour has always taken the plaudits on the party front the steely city of sheffield has its own house history, with much of it residing in the warm buzzing darkness of the studio. its here that we find our latest robsoul rookie. a fresh name for the label, but a producer who is far from new to the game. tommy vicari jnr’s first release was pressed to the black gold and released back in 2004. since then there have been sporadic outings, but the last two years have seen a reinvigorated tommy roll out over ten new releases and play a huge part in putting sheffield s house music firmly back on the map. threshold of eternity sees tommy drop the northern grit to replace it with shimmering warmth and sunshine vibes across all four tracks. fidgeting rhythms, chopped samples and groove-heavy beats and bass are spliced together to create an essential feel-good release.

derrick carters seminal sound patrol album originally released in 1994, * sweetened - no lemon*, will see a re-release in january 2016. the alias provided a place for carter to explore deeper and sometimes more atmospheric styles. the sound patrol record originally came out via chicagos organico label, while derrick carters own arts & labour is handling the reissue. the triple vinyl re issue adds four new unreleased tracks. the whole album has been re mastered for 2016. this follows a limited edition sampler 12 inch released in 2015 which contained another 2 unreleased tracks.

2016 repress...the second sampler from king street celebrating the work of the mighty kerri chandler. kerris career in dance music stretches way back to the late 80’s and he has remained at the top of his game throughout, thus rightfully earning him the title of - house legend! as with the sampler before, the king street vaults have been raided for only the highest quality cuts from his extensive back catalog. kicking off the ep is his all-time classic, monster, dance-floor wrecking “bar a thym-, a real deep house masterpiece that should need no introduction and the perfect way to start things off. over on the flip we are treated to welcome to king street a deep, immense spoken word love letter to the dancers delivered in true kaos 6:23 fashion! this track has never been issued on vinyl before, only ever appearing on the 2012 king street compilation of the same name. finishing things off is be there-, another solid banger lifted from the kaoz on king street chapter ii 12inch from 1997. all in all, a killer selection of tracks from a true master! this (and the preceding) ep are the perfect points for those who missed these killer tracks first time around, or are a great place to start for those who are new to the legendary mr.chandlers sounds. all tracks included have been re-mastered and re-pressed in full conjunction with king street sounds, new york city

aside from being the originator and creator of the osmose sound 7inch vinyl record stabiliser, dj osmose is a purveyor of the finest house and disco concoctions, a man who has clearly dedicated his life to both house culture and the vinyl format - we dig. this time hes up on the newly crowned morgan avenue edits, and first up is a collaboration with bydesign, a track entitled red light disco, and one that is a total discoid banger, backed by one hell of a baseline. hazardous disco sees the man go solo and deeper than before, serving up a beautiful, vocal-laden, string-heavy disco joint for the modern ear, followed by the smooth-as-silk groove of i dont wanna know. stunningly fab.

not much is known about manchester based producer belly, his online profile merely states live artist & vocalist from the uk. what we do know is that he releases records on his own imprint belly dance uk and that the 3rd instalment in this series (produced by la s seth cobblepot) is yet again hard hitting and dark. following on from the previous 2 records, featuring timothy j fairplay & headman respectively, he has invited 2 more underground powerhouses, brassica & thinnen, to contribute their takes on his new ep simply entitled water
