australian man of mystery privacy returns to klasse wrecks after a 3 year hiatus and the wait has most certainly been worth the while. four original tracks make up the new product ep, with the artist exploring new styles and tempos. ranging from electro-speed to stomp-wave, each track is a masterclass in the style of privacys ever expanding body of work.
machines redefined and shaped the way we make music and gave access to new sounds. enabling the availability of music instruments to a wider spectrum of artists gave birth to many genres and sound aesthetics. the sound of roland machines from the 80’s have had a huge influence on underground music and is outstandingly beautiful. therefore this very first talking machines v.a. is dedicated to the synthesizer roland sh-101.
new school electro wunderkind privacy makes his debut on klakson with a dark four tracker that checks all the right boxes. the ep kicks off with four io, a haunting, spacey dubbed out acid roller with lush pads throughout. u can tell and ncsc are both specimens of the finest ebm tradition, re-interpreting the sound for 2017, while shove on the b2 effortlessly transports us into deep, uptempo aquatic electro territory.
crackling electro by lobster theremin newcomer privacy, a melodramatic dance tune by robert johnson resident chinaski and skittering house by partner in crime dj s aka dj slingshot. completed by giallorific tones of umberto and harsh compressor-experiments by nick klein.
privacy has released well-received records with labels like lobster theremin and klasse wrecks. now he thinks its a good idea to enlist with the ranks of determined weirdos over at valcrond video. why? the valcrond offices are replete with alluring snacks. cornucopia-level amounts of treats, both sweet and salty.
privacy returns to lobster theremin with three slabs of slimy, modular, machine-driven electro. human resource exploitation manual is an aural guide in the optimum exploitation of human substance and material.
privacy delivers some winding electro-techno on the void limited imprint. the berlin based producer s signature style emerges once more as pounding 808 s fuse with circuitous synth lines, taking us on a journey through the cosmos!
lobster theremin debut yet another young berlin talent in the form of the electro and new wave future-son privacy. drawing on a rich heritage of detroit and dutch staggered soundworks and beat engineering, privacys debut is a spectral reminder of the power of the swung beat with roaring synthesizer mechanics and industrial leanings all present and correct.
breathtakingly ahead-of-its-time electronic disco from 1979 produced by one third of telex, transvolta's disco computer features one the most amazing combinations of synthesized bass and vocoded vocals ever committed to vinyl!!! an lp only cut, east walls privacy is a stunning italo / industrial number with incredible strings that give it an almost classic detroit techno feel
9th release from umx, with 3 banging electro tracks, on side a 2 dark electro tracks from rise black, on side b a long dark and melodic electro track from paulus8. all 3 tracks are a delight to put through your speakers, get this one for your collection
while ant plate has been insanely busy with a plethora of aliases on a multitude of labels recently, he s still found time to turn out some surefire heaters in the studio with long time sparring partner matt hunt. this release marks the first appearance of rhythm plate on vinyl only, but it s worth the wait. there s an epic scope to apathetic empathy, which features bashy 80s drum hits and squelchy bass front and centre, but soaring vocal licks and piano stabs that widen the track out beautifully. observed privacy is a more emotive cut laden with illustrious keys, abuser experience is a bright and bashy deep house belter and prototype night takes things down a slinky, acid-speckled route. rhythm plate still serving up the house music realness after nearly 20 years.
much needed reissue of brazil, a collaborative work by three spearheads of scandinavian electronic music today. the original edition was presented in a limited run of four cassettes, boxed and with an accompanying book. this timely reissue comes as a remastered double lp set, inviting a new set of listeners to the work.
something special: frenchman sebastien bouchet is launching his brand-new sebastopol project. new name, same deliciously deviant electronica: his debut is compiled with serious detail and a cool coherency of humanised textures, trippiness and barbed, shadowy soul.
“fleischberg” is the 2nd vinyl iteration of berlin’s body focused fleisch collective, following hot on the heels of last year’s highly acclaimed release by schwefelgelb. this 12” starts with a relentless six and a half minute assault by australian native and berlin based halv drøm, a fitting vinyl debut for the talented producer. dsx follows up with a finely tuned ebm track tactfully layered with obscure vocal samples and paired with piercing, frenetic drum programming.
the b side starts with a slightly different approach, recalling a more classic techno and electro tone without losing sight of the release’s progressive focus, privacy’s catchy “work” recalls late 80s chicago masterpieces without becoming overly nostalgic. sekunde rounds out the compilation fully with a plodding and minimal piece that would be best appreciated while being blasted driving 300 km/h down a moonlit back road somewhere in the black forest.
east wall was an italian electronic dark wave band started by fabrizio chiari (ex keyboardist of kirlian camera) and wilma notari in 1982. “silence” was self released by the band in 1991.

with a fleshy mix of acid and electro cuts from sync 24, privacy, luke eargoggle, etcher and -=uhu=-, berlins longstanding machine-driven music collective, mechatronica, forcefully unites the classic and new sound on their first record release. a first-ever collaboration between established electro commanders luke eargoggle and sync 24 opens the record in toxic floor buming fashion, followed by a cold and tightly programmed electro journey by -=uhu=-, blending the mechanic and the monotone in a comment on todays relationship between machine and man. building on strong previous releases with lobster theremin and klasse wrecks, privacy kicks off the flip, taking the tempo down with a booming, melodic electro cut, followed by a funky acid workout by etcher featuring his signature bubbly basslines and soothing synths.
nice price deal !!! romanian producer romansoff is the next artist to appear in the ever growing signal code stable. the raw tools labels owner provides three wavy and spacey techno cuts which sit alongside a rough and ready electro remix of the title track by berlin based privacy.
as a full-analog studio crack he has produced 5 albums and more than 50 eps with his very own interpretation of techno. his music still has a 90 s ghetto vibe, with as much energy as a punk band, but to make it clear to everyone, it s techno music to its essence. he has just finished new remixes for chicago legends robert armani and dj deeon, as well as for matthew herbert.
if you have heard daniel martin-mccormicks name recently, it would probably have been either in association with his disco/punk/echo band mi ami, or as sex worker on the not not fun label, or finally as ital on nnfs sister label 100% silk, recording quite different sounding house music to this album. raised in washington dc, daniel has a history in the citys hardcore scene, he was in the dischord records signed black eyes, but was also making dance inspired tracks at the same period, but coming from a very different angle from your average guy with a copy of logic and a working knowledge of dance musics history.
double 12 inch vinyl, including code for free download of this release.
