if you re going to launch a label, it s always wise to start with a bang. that s exactly what newcomers audio visual have done here, recruiting detroit veteran terrence dixon and chez damier cohort michael zucker (boss of finale recordings, no less) for a four-track trip into deep techno and intergalactic house. dixon goes deep into the groove on the hissing, intoxicating deep techno roller -mta-, before delivering a touch more melody on the retro-futurist gem -over the top-. zucker, on the other hand, opts for a jaydee-does-deep house feel to -foundation (part 1)-, before setting off towards the heavens with the deliciously deep, smooth reflections

bulletdodges next instalment comes from us producer sean ray, delivering a single called deep 454 with 3 superb remixes from mgun, space djz & mr o and gareth whitehead. seans original track is a deep affair, heralding sparkling pads and grooving percussion. the track is cemented by a dark yet infectious piano riff and soulful bassline to make it a dancefloor classic. first up on remix duties is ur’s very own newcomer mgun. mgun has been taking the scene by storm lately with his incredible productions and his take on sean’s deep 454 is no exception. for this remix he has provided us with a detroit infused gem of a track. he has used soulful pads that eminate detroit and an upfront kick to create nothing short of a masterpiece. for the next remix we have an exciting collaboration between techno stalwarts space djz and one half of the detroit grand pubha’s mr o. their joint venture has produced a deep techno monster. it has a solid bassline and hypnotic use of the pads that shouts out 5am madness. lastly to remix deep 454 is bulletdodge’s head honcho gareth whitehead who has created a more old school stripped back deep house vibe. his tight drum programming and clever usage of the original tracks pads and piano riff rounds this perfect package off very nicely. supported so far by audio injection, colin dale, craig richards, dj deep, gary beck, paul mac, pig & dan, samuel l. session, sasha carassi, skream, slam, tom hades and vince watson plus many more!!!

last magpie makes his electric minds debut with the *influences* ep in april. the eps three original tracks combine the producers knack for punchy uk club tracks with elements of the pioneering electronic music that have informed his music tastes. inspirations from classic hardcore, jungle and garage loom large on ep opener *mirdad*, while *pledge* takes things on an electro tip with nods to the sounds leading mid-2000s exponents. *i love me* juxtaposes light and moody elements for a heavier take on disco and chicago house, while the ep is completed by a sublime trevino remix, as the soulr boss reshapes *pledge* into the kind of tough, hypnotic house he has made his forte.

asan has been making music for some time. he is geographically the closest artist to lampuka records, yet lamp004 has taken us the longest to complete thus far. we had hoped this to be asans debut release but we were pipped to the post whilst he was on his travels. gladly though we have what we think is a superfluous release…and well worth the wait. no remixes here, just four solid bangers.

this first 12 contains new versions from daniel avery (phantasy), who released a striking debut album last year, as well as a string of much-played 12 inch singles. the 12 inch also contains a remix from invisible conga people (dfa), which marks the return of this elusive act, who recorded a fan-fave 12 inch for dfa in 2011, and have not been heard from since.

we are so excited to present you *the infamous*, the collaborative project between bülent gürler aka butch and c. vogt! out in april on a limited light-blue coloured vinyl 10 inch, the full release will follow later in the year. when we have heard it for the first time at the rebirth office we jumped on the table saying -wooow- this is an amazing piece of music!

octave one are back. the mesmerising *jazzo* is their latest sonic assault on ab electronic music landscape they have helped define. even though lenny and lawrence burden have now relocated to atlanta, they remain at the epicentre of detroit techno.

butane teams up with andras toth for the *elements of truth* ep, set to be released via butanes very own alphahouse imprint. andrew rasse aka butane, launched the alphahouse imprint back in 2005 amidst the minimal explosion, working with the likes of troy pierce and quenum in the early stages. now, looking back on how things have progressed and seeing the imprint reach a thirty-release milestone here, the label has made quite the standing in its time, releasing cuts from luminaries such as skudge, ricardo villalobos and ion ludwig to name a few. here we see andras toth return to the label with the duos second collaborative ep following *futures* back in 2011.

we who like to think of ourselves as disruptors felt that the time has come for a shift. a new path for chronicle emerges, carved out with a new series of 7 inch records limited to only 250 copies. our inaugural release, entitled words for silence, will be unleashed at our debut chronicle showcase on march 29th at berghain. as our way of giving thanks to our supporters the first 10 copies will be passed out in secrecy to attendants looming in the shaded corners of the club. words for silence features two driving tracks from aiken and the illusive ben gibson – two producers that have both crafted powerful eps for us and will be gracing the decks that evening along with nick dunton (65 d mavericks), boris, oliver deutschmann and mike dehnert among others. we could not be more honored to host this night, and look forward to unveiling more releases of this caliber for other special events/turning points. so watch out below… aikens *singularity* has a groove that beeps like a time bomb waiting to explode, washing over you with its sinful drones - while gibsons track *parallax* takes things a bit deeper with pastoral pads and fluttering hi-hats. together they create a balance of rhythm and energy that will be well suited for a number of unique moments while in the chamber.

pupkulies & rebecca, a three person musical collective whose members janosch and rebecca blaul as well as sepp singwald reside in würzburg and berlin have developed into a veritable force in the european club scene due to their recent releases and largely through word of mouth.

music is strongly linked to memory, sometimes just a simple note will trigger a deep feeling of nostalgia or emotion. the new homesick series was created by music enthusiasts who are living half a world away from their birthplaces. their concept is a play on memory, to re-edit and rework songs from the past into something which is timeless, tracks which feel fresh but retain their memories. for the first release, the homesick team have curated three pieces by drop out orchestra, late nite tuff guy, zimmer, and amadei. doo have carefully reworked -no scrubs- into a warm, bass driven, disco jam suited for the dancefloor, alntg has provided a solid groove theory lesson as only he can, and the ep is rounded-off with a special (double) bonus track for all the people who love 80s-era french pop music, reworked by zimmer and the asia-based newcomer amadei.

renegade hardware present – chroma. formed back in 2011, the chroma crew crashed onto the scene right from the start, with essential tracks on hardware, program, commercial suicide, and their very own coded label. subsequent releases have blown speakers and minds in equal measure, and now the newcastle lads are back with the follow up to their hardware release: machine which featured on the heavyweight limber ep.

upwellings is vincent raude, a professor of modern art at the academy of brest who has been releasing dub and reggae music since 1996 and has written music for contemporary dance and theater. he created his dub project lower groundz in 2004 where he experimented with reggae and in 2008 started his dub techno project upwellings under which he realized several 1s. his music was supported and charted by people like cio d or, laurent garnier, alexkid and more. upwellings music shows a great deal of recording knowledge and love for the details of electronic music. his a-side track zu zurich has a classic dub techno surface but we believe the skillful complexity on many levels will have us listen to this track many many times. there are things to discoverin >zurich< one might say. so it is no surprise that the flip side track >lower ground< shows more reggae influences which he uses in more abstract ways, employing vocal splinters he masterfully embeds in his recording.

red axes is niv arzi and dori sadovnik, two young men who have always lived in tel-aviv and have been making music together since the noughties. ballad of the ice is their debut album. their artistic travels have taken them from the rock scene to the dancefloors, and to creating an album. more than a summary, this lp is an invitation to discover a singular musical identity: a ballad of the ice, a song as light as love and cold as a tunnel, springy as a dance step and deep as nostalgia.

nice price deal !!! xenogears is the name of the first studio project of marieu and lucretio, also known as the analogue cops. with this moniker they released a bunch of seminal techno cuts on the first chapters of their restoration imprint, back in 2007. tracks which were played by legends as anthony shakir, claude young and the suburban knight. now the xenogears are back with their first album *lost artemis*, showcasing their distinctive fast, detroit-inspired hardware techno. the album features a collaboration with their usual collaborator nomadronin (with whom they run the label bratha) and with the talented producer known as objekt. all the tracks are characterized by a strong fascination for hi-tech synthesizers and rusted vintage gears, a fast pace, and a minimal approach to live mixing. they have explored the subterranean territories between post-atomic noises and apocalyptic breakbeats, finding a way to equate machines with funkiness in an open battlefield.

berlin based vidab records is pleased to announce the debut album from accomplished musician and producer tomas svensson. titled am i networked?, the longplayer takes us into the mind of a true synthesiser enthusiast, whose beautifully played and precisely sequenced tracks have previously only seen light on a handful of eps for the label. svensson, the swedish born long-time berlin resident, has years of experience playing in bands, on keys, synths and drums, and also worked alongside vidab co-founder oliver deutschmann on their rhodes-driven electronic project subbroom association

within the walls, lighting(s), james turrell built spaces of solid material. the aim is not to also penetrate the foundations, passing through space, leading us to consider the immaterial, the mind. divergent ways first four compositions much like the four first light compositions, have sought to externalise the imaginative vision making it apparent.

it has been a while since jaxson & david keno have been on keno records but it was worth the wait. calippo is an absolute banger. driven by this oldschool deep bassline climaxing in a breakdown filled with detroit strings this track already rocked many dancefloors all over the world. oliver schories takes it down a notch, gets rid of the strings and takes it into a more melancholic direction but still very danceable. the remix from adrian martin pushes calippo even a bit more in the tech house direction.

the 5th vinyl release for sonora encloses a very unique selection of producers. body & soul, two originals composed by label artist simone venanzi stays true to his sound with both deep and tech structures. for the remixes, we welcome two new artists who have added completely different compositions for each song. eduardo castillos remix of body showcases his unique approach to producing with a very melodic gypset vibe with special use of his les paul for the melody. for soul, boris griggs has given a deep remix with perfect melody recorded on guitar and astounding reverb. all artists have composed incredibly thought out productions unique to their own personal influences making this release an important staple for sonora records.

deep space orchestras use of weapons label has always been a reliable source of analogue-heavy left of centre deep house, with each split ep, featuring tracks from a variety of like-minded producers, featuring a range of must-have nuggets. this expansive sixth release, with eight tracks spread across two slabs of wax, is no different. dso s beautiful and surprisingly fragile -mendoza- leads the way, with 7 citizens calming, alien house groover -fatum- close behind. arguably best of all, though, is other worlds -coldname eld-, a sparse and bassy concoction blessed with some brilliant, head high style pianos. it is, though, all good, with further impressive contributions from the detroit-included haku.

andy meecham is a man of many musical incarnations and has been since the early 90s. following on from projects like the now dormant bizarre inc and revived dub-disco duo chicken lips, it is as the emperor machine that he explores his most experimental sounds. to date there have been three full length albums on dc recordings after the project was initially started with the idea of creating music using just one synth, the roland sh-3a. the results lay out the staffordshire mans love of vintage synthesisers for all to see, and combine tough edged disco beats with more cerebral cosmic melodies into alluring soundscapes that bend your mind and drive your feet. as well as a slew of 12s and lps, the emperor machine has also turned his hand to remixes of giants like moby, daft punk and royksopp, and has previously taken a live and inspiringly psychedelic incarnation of the project to clubs and festivals across the planet.

after a decade of club singles spanning bassline house, garage, grime and more, dj q releases his debut album. although he has been releasing club tracks since the start of the 00s, dj q had his breakthrough moment in 2008 with *u wot*, one of the biggest tracks to come out of the uks bassline house / niche explosion. the years since have seen him hold down residencies on bbc radio 1xtra and ministry of sound radio, while releasing on butterz, unknown to the unknown and local action.

touchin bass takes a different turn this time by introducing you to newcomers mkfn, a live production project formed in 2012 by babar raza (us), ovais hassan (uk) and fahad ahmad (canada). over the course of the year they have designed a system that allows them to create music across borders that has been defined as experimental, dark and gritty. the collective integrates each members extensive musical background gained from working across multiple genres. this unique combination invites distinctive sounds into the studio forming the foundation for mkfns characteristic sound.

early in 2013, los angeles-based live act pharaohs dropped their debut on esp institute, island time, along with tornado wallaces esp debut thinking allowed the idea being a simultaneous release followed by the artists remixing each other. well, here we have the 4th corner of the puzzle, a perfect set of jams for the tail end of summer. on side a, pharaohs themselves revisit ahumbo, inviting the neighborhood boys over for fatty then proceeding to bang the drum, while the flip side gives us the tornado wallace take on if it ever feels right, a beast of a track that nibbles but never really bites, a classy tension-builder, perfect for transitioning into.

limited double a side reissue of two classic disco bombs by 70s keyboardist don ray. with production duties undertaken by french electro-disco legend cerrone, both tracks are proper dancefloor weapons laden with heavy synths, bouncing b-lines and awesome punchy horns. first up is the amazing groove armada-sampled disco stomper standing in the rain, featuring powerful vocals over a searing groove that made it massive at the time. flip over for got to have loving, an exhilarating disco burner with hot sexy female vocals and a great breakdown later reworked by the revenge. superb double-header of must-have tracks - dont sleep!
