three modern cuts created from a new swedish duo, mount liberation unlimited. the duo have a long heritage in the swedish indie-pop scene but have now taken it further. with a lot of inspiration from techno and house have the appearence become something between indiepop and house, with a great body of analogue expression. junk yard connections is super happy to give out this lovely debut ep!

a special dj double pack from emotional rescue brings together a collection of razormaid remixes, plus unreleased originals, of two projects from georg kajanus, the founder of 70s pop group, sailor and 80s synth poppers, data. with a career spanning late 60s psychedelic folk-rock in eclection, through to chart success as a member of 70s pop group, sailor, before embracing the synthesised sound of early 80s new wave and synth pop via the excellent data, georg kajunas music has covered a lot of ground.

keno trax sets the focus on simple and functional club tracks but without taking things too seriously. they don t use a lot of melodies here. all that matters is the beat. and there is plenty of that on the release from the two romanian producers and djs called gruuv elements

italian duo neverdogs drop hall 9000 ep, with leon and x-press 2 remixes in tow this . ibiza 2013 saw tommy paone and marco de gregorio aka neverdogs habitually smash marco carolas music on party and play the closing party for el cierre.

we have reached number 10. time to celebrate with a remix edition of the deep88 & melchior sultana project. awaiting the album release (later 2014) we asked 2 of our heroes if they would like to make a remix for us. with a lot a lot (and a lot) of happiness we announce the nightwave remix by ben >cozmo d< cenac, formerly known as dream 2 science (and sha-lor and newcleus and the cellar boyz), that made us a wonderful space trip with his dreamy synths and stylish drums. the other remix is >yo house< treated by the excellent australian producer andras fox, that converts the song into a super classy deep house one with a lot of hiss and love. the man behind > running late> really made some magic over the melody of yo house, as usual with the aim of analogue warm-tape-feel and his crazy skills.

even though the only commonly known avant-pop/pseudo-world/cultural-rave outcome from lithuania exists for more than 15 years, which is, for a lithuanian band - a lot, it seems this machine will never stop from moving forward, to the contrary - the legendary avant-project spins in its own unstoppable wheel of fortune and change.

following up to their much applauded international debut save the youth, denmarks answer to warpaint,giana factory, return with their second album lemon moon this spring 2014. fronted by louise foo (sister of sharin of the raveonettes) and flanked by lisbet fritze (who also plays guitar in the trentemoller band) and sofie johanne, giana factory specialize in a wonderful kind of iced pop, beautiful songwriting with a lot of depth and diy attitude punch.

amazing techno and nothing for weak nerves. monya starts her own label corresponding positions with a belter of an ep. nothing less then two originals produced by herself plus remixes by perc and bas mooy. while the title track >steine im weg< is constantly raving forward with some distorted yet energetic basslines the second original >verweht< is more about the atmosphere and depth of sounds. perc and bas mooy both reworked the second track and definitely added a lot of raw power to this piece of vinyl. its an authentic and varied 4 tracker which will for sure find ist way to plenty of record cases and triggers our curiosity for what correspondign positions will come up with in the future. mastering by dubit, soluxion lab berlin.

tom almex returns in 2014 with a brand new release called chorus 9. the delude records label owner presents a great techno track with a lot of chord elements and minimal influences.

the hamburg based hannes rasmus released a record in 2013 called *analog ist besser* on gold pandas precious label notown which also featured luke abbott from border community. this put him on the map for minimal electronic melodic music with a lot of tastemakers and friends of melodic techno. his ep on traum *musik für fünf maschinen* refers to the equipment he used to write the music… the title of the tracks however refer to swimming pools.

quantum entanglement is one of the strangest phenomena in the universe, overcoming barriers of space and time and knitting the entire cosmos into an integrated whole. fin greenall (fink, sideshow) and myself lee jones (hefner, mymy) met at college in the early nineties and played a lot of chess to the soundtrack of aphex twin and future sound of london.

the californian has a cccp and a couple of the very best lies, but this stomping, grisly, suspenseful, four-track assassinator tops the lot. you get plenty more prep and purpose, and a load more killing.

there are a lot of speculations going round on who this awesome producer is but even here at prspct hq we dont have a clue and to be honest we dont care. all we care about is the awesomeness of the tracks he produces and this acid green 10 inch vinyl rocks hard as fuck!

on psyks new eclipse ep, clr finally releases a track that chris liebing has been playing all summer long on all kinds of occasions. eclipse formed an essential part of countless of his sets, which says a lot about the quality of this outstanding production.

ark to ashes is a new label brought to you by shadi megallaa. the first release features the linguinis (shadi megallaa & nadir agha aka ostrich). the second track sees the triumphant return of grant dell who brings his usual dub by goodness. the 3rd and final track is a re-release of a coastal commission track titled bring down the walls which was originally released on pacific coast house. you can expect a lot more dub by influenced house/techno on ark to ashes in the future.

as a label manager a lot of music reaches you ears. some you get especially attached to. this release is one of those. the two italian producers massprod and herva (bosconi, delsin) has together produced some music that feels very unique and different.

so here i am, happily an album older, introducing the first of adamants remix packages. since the whole project was, generally speaking, a personal affair and a lot of the album was not necessarily club-ready (does that even make sense?), we invited our friends on board to do the dirty deeds for me and rework my sounds into something normal people can dance to. first up are mind against.

this is techhouse by sandro beninati & marcel vidal feat. iori wakasa with nice vocals. a lot of big names have done remixes for this bomb, e.g. jacuzzi boys (cecille, off recordings), loko (great stuff recordings) and miyagi (rennbahn records, der turnbeutel).

after his epic split with black deer, torn hawk comes back with a proper four track 12 inch, opening with an almost balearic/tropical, someone put something in my drink and i am melting house cut. trapdoor returns to wyatts skewed after school special add cali-speed freak bastard child drum machine/guitar lush not lushness. we get more end-titles on the b-side, as both songs could be the soundtracks for a night hanging in a parking lot drinking boxed wine and snorting ajax while auxilary police circle, threatening to harsh your mellow ... good times to say the least.

124black is the new sub label from 124 recordings with the aim of promoting a darker, harder sound firmly rooted in the underground. all releases are strictly limited and available only on 10 inch translucent vinyl. first up is jacob b, rapidly gaining a lot of recognition for his deep and chunky club cuts, aptly demonstrated on >basement crowd< with solid drums, suspense filled strings, a spoken word vocal and a bassline that shows you exactly where the title of this track comes from. next is another 124 family member, liam geddes late night jam, >somebody in the house<. with its haunting stabs, groovy baseline and snare rolls, this a simple, yet very effective track that works equally as well in a small club or large warehouse! on the b-side, cecil returns to 124 with >bv< a track very much aimed at the dancefloor and replete with the producers signature deep stabs and chords, that work alongside a sub bassline that you feel rather than hear. a peak time track...

in the 1970s the american composer henry flynt started a series of pieces under the title >new american ethnic music<. in so doing he worked together native styles of music such as blues, country or hillbilly with electronic production methods to make something altogether new. so far in germany it has never been attempted to rework folklore electronically for a compilation. however, this picture changes if one redefines the idea of who the population is. incomers have brought new >national anthems< to germany, which means - even the portuguese fado, the african gnawa, the croatian klapa or the vietnamese quan ho are these days at home in germany. with the cultural project >heimatlieder aus deutschland< (native songs from germany) founded by former spex editor mark terkessidis and label manager jochen kühling all the various styles of traditional folk music now found in germany has been collected. thirteen of the songs recorded for the project have now been transformed by contemporary electronic producers to present a >new german ethnic music<. but why remixes? for one thing electronic music has recently focused a lot on the past (ghost music, hypnagogic pop etc.) – electronic editing is well suited to follow the effects of the immigrant music which the >imaginary national anthems< has created. furthermore the projects instigators were curious how >electronic musicians< would handle folk music and folk songs which is a hugely difficult task. to this end artists were sought out who could get along with the idea of each music style and who are known to already have experimented with the human voice. the results are as varied as the music styles and djs involved. some melodies remain completely intact while others are abstracted beyond recognition. margaret dygas associative approach ensured that she presents a polish song about a girls arranged marriage with a claustrophobic feeling. with his remix of the marrabenta of mozambique mark ernestus has continued the rhythmic experiments he is known for with jeri jeri. thomas mahmoud translated gnawa into dub and finaly ulrich schnauss turned the song of the italian chorus of >donni so< into a hymn for the horizon-expanding power of migration.hopefully this compilation will also expand some horizons.
