electronic emergencies is proud to introduce ceci n est pas, a synth wave project from new york consisting of nico nightingale, pierre klein and jorge socarras. nico nightingale is the man behind neud photo and earlier worked with pierre klein as neud. jorge socarras was singer with synth maestro patrick cowley in the 70s duo catholic, and with 80s cult band indoor life. together, they started ceci n est pas in 2014, and this 7 inch -the last time- is their first release. the title track on the a-side is an irrestisibly melancholic and romantic synth wave pop song, while b-side -the stranger- has a mysterious and yearning feel.

nearly two years ago we released mys/kela by a newish stockholm-based producer who had put out a couple tracks on a couple labels studio barnhus and local talk owned by friends from around town. that produce s name was hnny and a lot has happened since then, both to him and to us. hes gone on to crank out more l.t. 12inches as well as some hes dropped on his yummy and puss imprints, weve gone on to unleash a couple dozen more records and see the list of talent we ve hosted at our parties grow to astounding length. somehow, through it all, we managed to stay close with hnny, whos real name is johan cederberg, and even book him for a couple nyc gigs. the friendship that began so humbly and gently in 2013 has blossomed.

van kaye + ignit is the dutch duo of ed van kasteren (van kaye) and ignatine bekken(ignit), who joined forces in the city of arnhem during early 1980. while at university, van kaye was the singer of the monomen, a local new wave band. by the end of 1979 he had become more interested in the use of electronics and rhythmic industrial patterns. in april 1980 he released a demo cassette with 30 minutes of his own work titled a slight delay.

after six years of frozen sleep, we though it was time to reactivate the bang a rang story. following the killer *hi-8 adventures* by detest, released in january 2009, djipe delivers *misophonia* - a 4 weighty dancefloor traxxx to spit more anthem in your glitchy mutant rave. hailing from the netherlands, this young producer, release after release, with his unique style of oldschool breakcore, blended with hardcore kicks and crossbreed snares, steps up the game! better than a long speech, bust out the soundsystem and crank the volume to 11, djipe will blow up each dancefloors worldwide! (previous djipe music on: third movement, deathchant, abused recordingz, machinecore records, noisj, murder channel ...)

now living in warsaw, donnell knox was well known, along with black nation s jay denham for forging a tough, distinct kalamazoo techno sound in the 90s. his label, sonic mind, put out some very coveted, underground wax that still sounds unique, extra rugged, and fresh. well d-knox is now on a bit of a comeback mission it seems, with some really inspiring new material, and “africa calling”. the first version, created to donnell’s much loved “spirit man” alias, is a soulful trek through layers of pads and emotive synth work. the simple, but uplifting, vocal snippet really gives it an organic and spiritual feel, the tempo is driving and quick, but the overall vibe is laid back and deep. remixes come from the likes of brooklyn based titonton duvante, who maximizes a synth pattern to a form a beautiful, reaching, version, while canada’a rennie foster channels his futago traxx style to present a full on tribal, drum based mix with added vocal pieces. also, detroit transplant, now living in canada as well, j garrett goes in with a very emotional, warm, string laden take. the ep is capped off with another version from donnell that could stand as it’s own track really, a totally different, but equally as strong, version featuring a driving baseline and detroit style string vamps. a really nice release, worthy of your support, from a well loved veteran of the techno underground.

for the dataphysix fans and trainspotters here finally on vinyl! one of the tracks that has been played by heinrich mueller 2 years ago in a special podcast he did for resident advisor. this was one of the unknown tracks and finally it gets an official release. no further info on the producer, just a well produced one sided 12inch with doodles etched in spiral on the b-side. its needles to say there is a limited amount of these.

the last time these gentlemen linked up was for their release what you see on leftroom limited in december of 2013. since then, circle (rob paine + keith landis) produced another ep for worship while rise 8 has been recording their full length album. the universe let these artistic minds & souls meet in the studio once again to create gone too deep. the original mix is a deep and moody house builder that is really brought to life through the haunting vocals of rise 8 s gerhardt koerner.

iconic deep house label large music returns to the vinyl market with a limited repress of the classic kerri chandler release return 2 acid. first pressed in 2005, this was the 100th release on large and has been out of print for 10 years. the a side features kerri s powerhouse tribute to the glorious days of acid house laced with driving beats and an incessant 808 acid line. on the flip side kerri goes old-school, this time with an electro afrika bambaataa influenced jam entitled planet sonic. also included for this special reissue is the unreleased acapella of return 2 acid solidifying this as a true collectors item

for our next release we have called upon sideways. two artists whos relationship with watergate dates back to the clubs beginning nearly twelve years ago. it was in the early 90s when marcus kaye and lee ching worked at two of the most influential record shops in the uk resulting in a mutual friendship born out of an eternal hunt for new and exciting music.
