when some collaborations occur, it feels like fate has been paying close attention, planning something special. on one hand: bugge wesseltoft, pianist, composer and pioneer of electronic jazz, on the other: henrik schwarz, one of the most sought after producers of electronic music who has remixed stars from michael jackson to ane brun. this combination may not seem as radical as once it might, as in the days before bugges new conception of jazz, but the results most certainly are: this does not feel like your typical electronic jazz outing. its a super-group in microcosm. wesseltoft comes from a jazz background and has moved towards electronic music. he started on the ecm label with jan garbarek, and later collaborated with club music legends like laurent garnier and francois kervorkian on stage. schwarz comes from the chicago/ detroit techno culture, and performs at music festivals and in clubs on all continents. he has been moving towards the jazz and improvisation

dubline records unveils their next release by the neurodub duo that runs the dubline camp - melamin & wicked sway. the theory behind this production outfit is balance. neurologically the human brain percieves information to be incomplete if it is not symmetrical. in a practice of endless work ethic the sound design interfaces perfected beats that have an even balance of elements. the process in which people follow music as a path is implied in the waking of the conscious mind while in it spirit. the thought process of their approach to neuro is always written for the peoples natural instinct to follow obvious paths of information that can be used to direct the appliance of listening as a being of light tunes in and drops out the appropriate information. thus by drawing attention to the information the focus remains to show the difference between the foreground and background. a focal point is intended to encourage the listener to always furthur the exploration of the information presented. using elements that are different to show that they are clearly different components of presented information and yet both also with similarity to those of the same reference. its simply easier for ones step towards enlightenment in the experience of being human to realize the thought process and recognize the ego, reminding at the expense of the thinking brain that its cheaper to die.

a year after the initial digital release heres the long awaited nugget for all the vinyl lovers: d-pulse >velocity of love< with the new richer sound and the additional vinyl-only remixes. after a lot has been said about the original track and hot toddys mix (which was recently licensed for the ministry of sounds >late night sessions< compilation) these two new remixes resting on the side b are definitely worth to be mentioned. mario basanov (hailing from lithuania) really surprised us all with his musical thinking and a fresh point of view on the original track and also - by finishing such a quality mix in only 3 (!) days. the second mix that finishes off the ep was done by the new name from izhevsk - andrew starodumov aka eclectic sound (previously featured on our >obscured by the machines< compilation). his mix is a nice background for coastal chilling under the soft evening sunbeams. enjoy

coma - the cologne based duo marius bubat and georg conrad have grown in leaps and bounds since their 2008 debut for firm recordings. since then, they have followed with highlight contributions to the last two total series and of course their acclaimed single crystal (kompakt 199) - both of which were released on kompakt. their live shows have established the act as a leading duo locally not to mention earning them fans across europe and asia. on famous , their new 12 for kompakt, we see coma embrace the art of melody and warmth more so than in past releases - an endearing maturity that you hear thoughout this gorgeously produced ep . starting off with playground altona - coma bring their techno/house euphoria to new levels in shimmering bath of disco glow. the ambient warmth of fameless succumbs to a floating bass kick as the sound of children play in the background. as raindrops fell outside of the studio - the boys used it as inspiration for raindrops - a sure winning track on this single as a familiar voice carries you amongst a severely catchy rhythm. a set ender of all set finales

shadow sync are back with their latest true techno, full analog release on krd. poles is marked by a percussive sound which despite its inharmonic character yet keeps a trace of tuning making it similar to a voiced percussion. this main sound is arranged to form a sort of pseudo-melody determined by the different intensity, lenght and color of the reverb tail. the 909 delivers both the drum line and the bass line, realized using the tom section. the background is populated by friendly, ceaselessly mutating sonic organisms. magnetic fields is a train rolling through dark, post-industrial landscapes. its built around a drastically eqed 909 tom, a nervous echoed clap and a cross-rhythmic, 3 against 4 hypnotic bass line which evolves in a bell-like sound towards the pause. the atmosphere is saturated with sound vapors and the temperature is dangerously high: play at your own risk!

a reissue of 3 must-have dancefloor glisteners taken from their tough to find us boogie lp >the exoutic touch<. the exoutics were a group of ny-based muscicians who in the 80s released their album on the privately owned dee gee records. nows its an in demand boogie rarety. the soulful lead vocals are complemented with sweet background arrangements. the vocals are closely coupled with the music resulting in an almost playful interaction.

northern structures (troels baunbæk-knudsen and lasse buhl) are a copenhagen based techno duo. troels has been making all kinds of electronic music since the age of 14 but focused mainly on a long international drum’nbass carreer under the excentric pyro moniker. lasse is a longtime dj and has been developing his own productions, with a background in soundscapes and organised noise. both share a love for the harder and deeper sounds of techno not often found in copenhagen, taking in a wide range of influences from the early uk industrial and dub tinged berlin sound to jazz, experimental electronica and rock. the ambition is to create a marriage of industrial and organic textures by avoiding strict rules of programming and aiming for more of a jam based musical playground feel.

awkward movements returns to release the debut from londons dodger man ? one of the most talked-about new producers of the last 12 months. and with good reason. dodger mans multi-instrumentalist background opened the door for his high-profile sets bombed with back-to-back dubs of his own creation. his workings played-out live have gained him a reputation as one of the top emerging djs, the height of which came following an impressive set at bloc weekend, after being hand- picked by joy orbison to share the bill. the natural alignment with awkward movements has served up his highly-anticipated debut record, and it doesnt disappoint.

played by jesse rose, mandy, karotte, lexy, seth troxler, sascha funke, ivan smagghe, dubfire... the producer and dj oliver koletzki and singer fran are still firmly riding on the fast track to glorious pop music. after the first single >arrow and bow< of their new album >lovestoned< they now release >echoes<, both as a maxi single with four different remixes and a vinyl edition that includes three of the remixes. but lets start with the original, which is easily one of the strongest and most powerful songs of the album. it is here where koletzkis background as a producer of house and techno meets with frans ability to create divine lyrics and perform them with her unmistakable voice.

velvet: a great techno classic gets the full c series overhaul. bang up to date and a perfect floor filling package. tribal percussion rattles along with a speaker throbbing bassline which drops seamlessly into that well known synth from the original. the main lead is then tinkered, wrapped around, and flipped to breathe new life and give us a new shade of velvet. intergalactic:doesnt need much of an introduction, the title pretty much gives it away. the beastie boys go techno! another dance floor smash and grab here beastie style. vocals used effectively.. not too much not too little but with the fused with the rest of the track it brings out so much energy, the percussion, the toms in the background, the stabs throughout the track makes everyone in the room jump!

gabrieles passion for music began at a very early age, from piano to rock, blues to soul, funk to 80s … his evolving eclectic musical background provides him with the foundations for his productions now – heavily influenced with deep, house and acid-funk sounds.

heres a mighty steamroller of a track by funky californian cole medina, co-founder of the house arrest label, that aims to put the ghetto back in house music, and esteemed producer with a jazz background championed by the haute-volee of current disco and house djs. while his slo-mo bee-gees cut-up is still the center-piece of numerous latenight/ early morning sleaze hours worldwide, >red hot< is quite another beast: footstomping peak-time action with dangling funk guitar and dubby brass stabs. finally dropping after todd terje already included it in his resident advisor almost two years back with an additional stellar the mole ( wagon repair, philpot ) on the support. canadas funkdoobiest reconstructs it in a jacking, midtempo wild pitch manner around a dirty fuzzy bassline plus cut-up beat and wah-wah guitar that will slap you silly. this hurts so good!

jaffa surfa is a well known dj in hungary with a strong and long aritstic background where music has always been the main part of it.. hes done already releases on universal vibes, devoted and off, showing a great variety of styles into his productions. we have been strucked by his track >diskoz< and his strong disco vein! this track is a magic mixture of techno house elements dropped into our immmaginary view of 80s electronic uncontaminated disco.

beroshimas cosmic flight comes as a detroit shaped pumpin techno clubstomper. deep synths going hand in hand with fragile background strings. a reminiscence of glorious techno evergreens. hawkinson puts his fingers on franks original mix and creates a deep atmospheric track. minimal meets deep techno. a state of the art production and dancefloor burner. the cosmic flight ep is the first one to be taken from the upcoming beroshima album.

italian duo davide zeta and claudio basile moved to london from milan in 96 & 97 respectively, they quickly achieved themselves their individual niches in londons spotlight as promoter/dj duo, moving into production with their first official releases in 2008, claudio as a solo artist, and davide as part of slimboystwo. when they finally joined forces for their first release as dzeta n basile gained lots of attention from different record labels throughout uk and europe. claudios sound comes from a progressive background and davides has more of a house feeling. the result is a unique blend of hypnotic grooves, deep vibes and percussive/house beats, which is the trade mark of their style. after just more than a year running, with dj performances in londons most important venue and 10+ singles released, the future in 2010 is looking bright.

die band existiert bereits seit 1997. in der aktuellen besetzung seit 2001. der sound spiegelt alle m¥glichen einfl?sse wieder. punk, oi!, rock n roll, hardcore. nenn es einfach streetpunk, oder such dir selbst einen begriff aus. die teilweise politischen und sozialkritischen, aber auch ironischen und schlicht aus dem allt?glichen leben gegriffenen texte werden kombiniert mit treibenden riffs und eing?ngigen melodien.die produktion des albums ist der hammer 12 bzw. 14 richtig gute songs die es einem schwer machen nicht von anfang an mit zu gr¥hlen

es w?re falsch die freiboiter als reine politische band zu bezeichnen, jedoch ist der begriff >antifascist oi!< nicht nur beiwerk, sondern fester bestandteil des selbstverst?ndnisses der band. das k¥nnen heutzutage wohl nur wenige bands aus dem so genannten streetpunk sektor von sich behaupten.gib ihnen etwas bier (besser nicht zu viel!), schn?r die stiefel und mach dich bereit f?r den sound aus motorcity stuttgart.

this new collaboration between two of cadenzas finest talents makes its official debut on mobilee with black shoes, a cut that pops, crackles, and snaps like youd never believe. dance floor ready yet unwilling to sacrifice an explicit focus on the details, black shoes pulsates with bass while suggesting a kind of lightness as whispered and fragmented voices hiss and murmur in the background. the melodics, which give off the feel of being in constant flux, provide a nice contrast to the intensely regularized bass drum while simultaneously meshing with the popping percussion that guide the track along its course. breakdowns filled with the sounds of static and 8-bit provide a nice experimental touch to this track that works equally well as a late-night romp as it does on the headphones. b-side speech also gives off a stuttered feel but is even more blippy and fragmented than its counterpart while migrating towards a more jacking vibe. brito and toro compliment this fractured sound with extensive use of vocal samples—both spoken and sung—that, while incomprehensible, lock in seamlessly with the overall feel of the track. melody here references both vintage sounds and traditional minimalism with the end result being a fusion of the two that is truly extraordinary.

greg schappert aka donor (brooklyn, ny) and tom russell aka truss (london, uk) first came into contact sometime towards the end of 2006. it didnt take long to realize that they had an immediate understanding of one anothers musical background and desired direction. finding that connection has resulted in the two continuing to work together on many joint projects, varying their style between more deep and hypnotic minimal techno to the more driving industrial style techno that they both grew up listening to.

bottin, aka william bottin makes music only an italian can make... probably. take a youth spent against a background of old italian giallo soundtracks, some john carpenter film music, add in late 70s italo disco influences, add a touch of free, some easy west coast vibe and a smattering of kitsch. that just about half describes bottin.
