hello leif mueller on shtum. pleased to meet you. especially with such a strong debut release. everything is starting with the no-nonsense-techno track teleshop which is designed for big room pleasures. on wo ist meine playstation 4? things get a little more psychedelic without losing the straightness you need to get lost in the dance tunnel. cairo is a lesson in keeping goose bumps alive with its up and down galloping synth stabs. to cool things down, the stuttgart based producer drops nightcleaner, a quietly starting ambient affair that evolves into a little acid monster.
made up of six tracks but presented as two 17-minute pieces, the record meanders through warm chordscapes, glistening synths and loose live percussion, weaved together with field recordings and ambience.
limited to 500 copies, handnumbered and manually coloured!
the 3rd from a series of 5 special edition releases by klamauk, this time featuring tracks by frivolous, grifin, tilman and leif.
fear of flying regular leif provides the 4th release for fofs revitalised limited label. a supa slick slice of modern vocal house, priority sees leif up his game with supremely tight production, a killa funked up b-line and sensual vocal from new recruit donna lea. for remix duties we opted for the up & coming talents of young un ethyl along with production partner flori. they come up with an altogether different take, coaxing elements of the vocal into a bigger sounding deep house experience. finally we thought we opt for a little bit of a curve ball in the shape of daze maxim. upon hearing dazes installment in the excellent story series we knew he was someone we needed to get on board - here daze strolls into tough tech house territory with a groove slightly reminiscent of rick wade at his most dance floor
trimsound returns with a long awaited ep from head honchos tom ellis and leif. a quality combination of funkfilled jackin tekky beats, spacey dubby minimalism and deeeeeep jazzy house are on offer here, a nice variation for minimal and deep house heads alike... tom and leif have been busy notching up some well-respected releases on labels such as telegraph, thinner, highgrade, fear of flying and hartchef discos, with lots more projects in the pipeline. stay tuned for more trimsound action in 2009!.
trimsound is a new label from none other than tom ellis, leif and joe ellis. they have had great releases on labels like morris audio and moon harbour. they give us a solid four tracker, with varying tracks from quirky house on track 1, to more glitchy minimal detroit - inspired grooves on track 2. this is the future of modern techhouse music, cutting edge and seriously funky with new sounds and samples
dj support: dave clarke, dj bone, laurent garnier, danny daze, jon hester, mosca, or:la, room 4 resistance, bloody mary, laksa, sapphire slows, art of tones, black loops, disclosure, photonz, david martin, moonbow, re:ni, dina, cabasa
felix has been working his studio hard this past summer and caned out a whole bunch of awesomeness! we are more than pleased to welcome him back on dirt crew this year after his excellent new ep on bobby donny and the buster jam for our deep love 2018 compilation
after the widespread acclaim for shoulders back and july v, leif fires up his 10 inch tio series with another pair of dazzling, future minded cuts for the more inquisitive dancefloor. increasingly he s been moving away from house and techno conventions towards intriguing broken beat variations, and that s apparent in abundance on this new release. bluebird rides on a set of tough but dynamic drum ripples, but the stand-out element is the gorgeous twinkling arpeggio that pirouettes over the top of the beat. number 13 meanwhile takes a moodier, dubbier approach without losing that deft programming, harmonic warmth and crafty rhythmic interplay that has become leifs calling card in recent times.

stuttgart based new producer leif muellers debut release on mule musiq. his best friend konstantin sibold brought these fantastic music to us. fantastique on a side is chicago house oriented modern german house, holidays everywhere on b1 is hypnotic tech house which reminds us the production of roman flügel. leguan on b2 is excellent collaboration with konstantin sibold.
every tenth release for boe recordings represents a significant achievement for the vinyl-focused record label and the numerical milestone is celebrated with a special release. the thirtieth instalment, boe xxx is a true family affair with four recognisable boe artists and two new members added in.
on the back of an acclaimed lp on his own umhs label, freerotation resident leif takes his woozy grooves and lush atmospherics for a trackier spin on galdoors. macro beat s-broken latin groove propels the a1 through layers of bubbling dub synths and twinkling atmospherics. moment beat shares the first track s club focus, but this time chimes unfurl over a low-slung groove that leaves things perfectly poised for a change in direction. on the b, tumbler-picks up the pace once more with highs and arpeggios that pulse and slide around each other restlessly, before untitled wraps up with a beatless and beautiful flourish.
EACH DAY MADE NEW EP (140 G VIOLET COLOURED VINYL)
coloured 12 Inch 03.12.15
with the original pressing of the 2013 release long gone but still in great demand, ornate is thrilled to revisit leifs each day made new ep and give it a lavish new repress on violet coloured vinyl. when the record originally dropped it received support from artists as well-respected as larry heard, soul capsule, jane fitz and rhythm plate, and continues to be spun regularly to this day.
a fine 2015 for untilmyheartstops so far has seen the label usher in superb 12- releases from zach lubin, arnaldo, and duckett with the latter s pair of records a particular highlight. label co-founder leif is next up with taraxacum, his second album and umhss debut long-player and it may be their finest work to date. building on dinas oleu, his well-received 2013 debut album for fear of flying, the nine tracks on taraxacum show leif channelling all-new levels of immersion in his productions right now. very much an album you sink into, there are still tracks on taraxacum that will work on the dancefloor when you require something a bit hypnotic wed love to see a small club reacting to the startling an elephant madness for example. great work leif!
it gives us great pleasure to welcome london-based producer leif in to the idle hands fold. from his earlier micro house releases alongside tom ellis on their trimsound label through to starting the otherworldly untilmyheartstops imprint alongside tom s brother joe, he has displayed an innate gift for combining crisp, flexible rhythms with serene, dubby melodic content that sits in a comfortable flux between icy and warm, natural and synthesised, funky and floating.
after a years absence, sudden drop return with leif yet again at the controls. after his superbly received lp dinas oleu for uk imprint fear of flying, the welsh maestros sound continues on its upward trajectory with this beautifully constructed four tracke from the more peak time warm vibes of solstice, the deeper feelings of with your sincere heart or the more musical once there was nothing and sintra
fear of flying delve once more into the world of long players with leif, someone who has been a feature of the label since the labels inception, having contributed seven releases on their combined journey together. dinas oleu is the culmination of that journey. a sonically refined trip through hazy deep house and tripped out ambient skits.
vinyl only. 180 gramm vinyl. shrinked. its ten years since both tom ellis and leif released their first ever vinyl record mindtours 06, which also featured label boss steevio. this marked the beginning of tom and leifs steadily growing reputation on the international underground house and techno scene, with both artists releasing countless records and tracks on many important labels, and as founders and residents of the much respected freerotation festival, all three friends now enjoy worldwide exposure.
another superbly crafted ep released on the organic-music imprint features tom ellis three original tracks and a brilliant remix by leif. neither of the producers featuring on the release need any introductions as they are very well known names around the underground dance music scene for quite some time now. the ep has a very eclectic feel to it that can satisfy todays very demanding musical palates. deep. funky, bass driven, cross-over between live and electronic soundscapes, one can hear all of that in this little gem of a record.
** vinyl only release !!**
leif steps up to sudden drop with a powerful 4 tracker. effervescent keeps the beats deep and dubbed out but with a real sense of pace to work the dancefloor. snowfall works as a counterpoint. a beatless lush soundscape with glorious warm pads and echod vocals. snowfall roughs things up with tough drums and percussion whilst nde is a pure slice of melody infused house bliss
hot on the heels of ornate musics last release featuring the bumping house business of digs, the imprint set their sights on welsh producer leif, who has been turning heads with his masterful deep house for labels like fear of flying and fina since 2003. kicking off with *circumstance 4*, whose smooth organ refrain drifts over a lightly rolling groove, the vibe switches up with *every cloud*, whose gentle jazz-inspired piano and abstract, dubbed out soundscape is strongly reminiscent of floating points more freeform productions. however, it is *each day made new* that provides the eps most surprising moment, an andres style hip-hop track with a cut-up, sunshine drenched quality calling recloose to mind.
leif has been good enough to grace us with a bumper four track e.p. featuring a tingling special guest vocal from welsh songstress donna lea, whose voice resonates through your chest on title track, >so long<. sticking with the land of daffodils & dragons, a chance meeting at freerotation festival spawned an instant remix request. german groovecat move d on hearing >so long< immediately saw an opportunity to put his stamp on the record. the result is a low-slung roller whose heart remains firmly rooted to the floor. joining it on the a is murmuring bass heavy >tell you something<, while on the flip, >bide the time< pays testament to the early shuffling nyc garage sound
half-swedish/half british artist leif is based in the uk. in the past few years, leif has forged a reputation within the underground scene for his trademark sound - a blend of minimal house that encompasses elements of deep dubby tech-house, bleepy minimalism, delicate chord soundscapes and enough chicago-house style shuffle to to keep the dancefloor moving. it is a fantastically rounded ep that pleases fans from all corners of the house world with the uk sounds of the original, azuniÆs twinkle of the eye of 90s us, and a raise of the eyebrow from the tech-jazz of sheÆs kooky.
