vernon returns for his third 12 incjh for dixon avenue basement jams with new beats, four thumping body tracks strictly for dem wot know. starting off with some slow-paced jailhouse house, *dark river* has been doing the rounds at barlinnie prison s weekly friday night shankfest, and is now finally available for the rest of us law-abiding citizens. comes on wintery transparent blue vinyl with a yellow centre stamp!

discos capablanca return with a record from the mysterious detroit-based sharif laffrey (we know little more than his place of birth, and that he likes to ride his bike and warm weather) who brings the heat on the turn it up 12 inch. recorded in detroit in the late 80s and released on a cassette tape compilation in 1988, the original *turn it up* is a long forgotten gem from the period that electro was beginning to morph and mutate into nascent forms of techno. excavated by hugo capablancas label, the track is presented in an edited version that stays true to the original and complemented by an acid dub not dub version that implements plenty of deranged 303 action.

now might not be the best point in time to be referencing rolf harris, but.... can you guess what it is yet? it aint gonna be hard for those in the know. the second in our white label series sees a gang of veteran knob twiddlers with over 20 years of experience under their belt. at this stage we might as well just tell you who it is..... but we are still not gonna. strictly limited pressing. when its gone, its..... copies stashed away in the warehouse to flog on discogs for £300 a pop after everywhere else sells out.

it is no secret that ben watt has chosen to close his acclaimed label buzzin fly to new music after ten great years as one of the uks leading dance independents. but the label has chosen to go out with a bang with one final single. unearthed from the vaults are two dazzling tracks from cornerstone artists, rodamaal, and manoo and francios a. rodamaals fortune was originally completed back in 2007 but scheduling problems prevented it from being released at the time. produced by the franco-portuguese trio (rocco, darkmountaingroups alex santos and manoo) it is a stark but emotionally-charged deep-techno masterpiece, that deserves its place alongside their other classics for the label, musica feliz and insomnia. on the flip, and originally produced in 2005, is other places a long-lost track by manoo and francois a. full of summer shimmer and heavy bass tones, it was produced by the duo during their heyday at the label, and was a secret favourite of label boss, ben watt. two perfect swansongs. buzz buzz.

like the satisfying first sip of soda water spritz, roland tings debut ep, *milky way*, bubbles, barms, and beads through your body. roland tings is rohan newman, a melbourne producer who, like recent rubies holy balm, forces, and canyons, proves there is just more and more greatness behind the great and powerful oz. melodic acid trips doused with swish-ticky-booms, like a rubber ball in space with endless bump and bounce. sweet off his japanese jaunt, speeding things down with sapphire slows shows, newmans taste is pure effervescence and buoyancy. but he has got a percussive stickiness as well, a vim/vigor that raps and rips through trax touch-ups and echo-plexes. not the nineties but the none-ties – no glimmer glam, or sampladelic vocal vacations, or happy house heartbeats. he ends the creamy *milky way* with a brilliantly wonky theme that springs like a wind-up toy gone loose. roland tings, dings, and zings.

the excellent lumberjacks in hell imprint has served up some fine edits in its short lifespan to date, most notably from chicagos mutant beat dancer traxx and the labels latest release turns to two other windy city residents renowned for their collections and skills. rahaan needs little introduction for the disco loving community with essential drops on stillove4music, disco deviance and more, whilst mr sounds runs the excellent bring the heat website. this twelve is all about the a side >rainin bleeding boy< which puts a well loved uk ebm couple through the dub laden beatdown grinder - though djs will get plenty of mileage out of both tracks on the b side with >flip side< some supremely chopped up disco funk and >war i declare< a stomping and heavily filtered bomb.

sk 011, 444, centralbron, midsummer night, babar, russian folksong, carbon oxide, i love water, all those brilliant tiga productions... we really don t know what else to say - just try to imagine the history and future of this dance music thing we re all involved in without jesper dahlback... nah, rather not, right? being part of jespers discography is the greatest thing that has happened to studio barnhus up until now and these two tracks, fransson and dx2 rmx, are up there with all those previously mentioned masterpieces. fransson is a freaky, windowlicker-esque jam while dx2 rmx is a dance floor burner which perfectly balances melancholia with joy.
