keeping the concept of a tight knit family of artists, up next on sol asylum is the follow up ep for the dilated pupils titled introducing remi. this collective of likeminded artists from the netherlands return to the label with a solid four-track ep that shows their range and diversity as producers. moving full speed ahead we start off with remi at 21.16 a track that instantly hypnotizes you on the dance floor with its echoing harmonic synths and a complex metallic snare pattern. the track is a slow burner that explodes when the dirty analog kick, swinging bassline, and filtered percussion melt into an atomic fusion. next we take it to the next level with do its underwater bubbling percussion, bleeping stabs and eerie synth take us to the far off corners of space with just enough acid to keep our heads down and grooving to the strobe light in a dark room. as we move into fall with october times a tightly woven groove and galloping kicks push us into more experimental territory with soaring vintage synths that create tension and finesse at the same time. finally we finishing things off with the esoteric vibes of suque this deep and dirty track channels the positive force from another realm, which is the perfect match for the inspiriting concept of sol asylum.

up first is gigolo, a spare and weird house cut with sine waves and random claps, hunched drums and trippy synth lines. it s a unique track made in a unique way and will lead to plenty of freaky dance floor moments, for sure. co. art is a whacked out techno cut with slap-funk claps, blistering and blistered synth lines and a rugged bit of bass underlining it all. the track is cavernous and metallic, empty and distant as if it somehow survived a nuclear blast. on the flip, alzheimer is a slow and gurgling, swampy techno number with broken drums and crawling synths that sound like their batteries have run down. icy, watery melodies eventually rain down, but the track remains resolutely eerie. last of all, fabric is another decaying track with subtle, heavily filtered synths and drums all making for a minimal groove that is barely there.

every week end im going to concrete to listen the artists who are playing there. i m talking about music with them , and do the same with people sharing the dancefloor with me. i collect all these inputs and ideas, all this energy, to define what concrete music dna is. because of this variety of people, tastes, and point of views, the label can t be reduced to one and only genre. to make the music more easy to apprehend, we are splitting the label in 3 parts, 3 differents moods, or more precisely, 3 times of the day... concrete music 7am contains the kind of music you could easily listen in our club at dawn, when the light is blue and the sun starts to filter through the mi-closed shutters. minimalistic, freaky or mellow, but always deep. concrete 3pm is definetly turned to house music. 3pm is the time when smiles are on every face, when the same vibe, the same energy, is going through every stomach in the room, and the crowd becomes one same entity. concrete music 4am aims for the more techno and black side of the music we love. at 4am, fists are pumping the air, or heads are down and eyes closed. it s not about how hard or fast the kickdrum beats, but how thick the atmosphere is.
