ltd clear vinyl! 1per customer - fluxions ripple effect is the film score for a non-existing motion picture. this 9-track album is the result of experimentation and the combination of the producer’s two most cherished art forms: electronic music and score music. ironically the two worlds rarely seem to meet, despite the fact that score music has adopted a looser form in order to better adapt to film accompaniment, bringing it closer to electronic music which attempts to contradict form or shed it altogether. fluxion felt the need to bring these two musical forms into dialogue with each other, lending structure to electronic and deconstructing score music to create a malleable and expressive hybrid. the albums production took two years from its original conception for the subliminal story to unfold into the completed product. fluxion wanted to say as much as possible through the music, leaving the visuals as a blank canvas for the listener to create their own story. in the end, the goal is to give each member of the audience a unique audiovisual experience based on their own perception and interpretation.

abstaxion and kasper bjørke return for their second collaboration on dc salas and abstraxions biologic records imprint. matin + nuit is a 3-track ep out in april. biologic records aim to explore the relationship between organic and analogue, natural and urban. this idea of polarity is addressed here through the themes of morning and night. matin is a ten-minute journey through a glistening landscape. celestial arpeggios and subtle dissonances are grounded by a hypnotic bassline and restrained percussion. ivre (drunk) takes an emotive turn. disorienting acid bass winds its way through mournful harmonies and overcast melodies, held together by a spirited rhythmic pattern. ‘nuit’, naturally, progresses into darker territory. there are familiar elements of disco, but they’ve been mangled to create something far more twisted. drums take the lead, punctuated by assertive bass stabs and ominous chords that howl through cavernous acoustics. matin + nuit explores seemingly familiar themes without the use of cliché, employing a diverse range of sound manipulation techniques to paint vivid imagery.

so when stu gardner was rounding up a late night studio session, putting the finishing musical touches to a t.v production he had been commissioned for, he thought he would use the last few hours to record one more song. wow are we glad he did. “don’t fight the love” is making movements in the disco circles and with the modern soul boys. an unnamed female vocalist gives you the performance of her life! this had been sitting dormant until 1980.

ok we can do a long text here... but lets not do that.... fantastic track by recast (aka fluxion)! a blissed-out track that is lush and jazzy! the experience of years of precision crafting dubby tech soundscapes is brought to these tracks, which are grooving house vibes executed in the melodic but quirky manner of isolee or luomo. lorca music is on remix duty here and did a great job with a clattering, skittering groove that is somewhere between 2-step and brokenbeat, the result is heavy and provides a nice alternative to the two recast versions. this is pure techno as we like it... not the banging big room techno, but techno we know from pioneers such as derrick may, carl craig, john beltran, stefan robber and the likes. no shit... this is just one of the most beautiful records we ve heard in a while.

somewhere else a dance slam classic with a deep, funky, squelchy bassline smartly blended under vocal echoes. its a groove to move you (and everyone else at the club)..

we are very proud to announce that fluxions new 12 inch will be released on echocord + an upcoming full-lenght album later. greek artist fluxion (aka konstantinos soublis) first presented his style of dub-influenced techno through a series of 12 inches and albums on the berlin label chain reaction, starting with lark / atlos in 1998. he then released a handful of 12 inches, which ended up in the two vibrant forms releases. in 1999 he created the vibrant music label.fluxions first 12 inch release on echocord titled >inductance<, is what the title implies. it is an escalating reaction between sound and flowing particles, a dance infusion. two deep dub club tracks that with a strong movement feel, and sublime atmosphere, characteristic of his productions. >inductance<, always changing, with a strong dubby platform and elements moving and shifting on top, living the listener wanting more, despite the 8 and so minutes. a deep listening track straight for the dancefloor. >elation< is a more atmospheric track creating strong emotions, in a more suttle way. a climax of sounds and harmonics that carries the listener, to a higher emotional state. the rythmical dub base alongsibe repetitive melodic parts complete the picture of a unique listening.
