after mukatsuku records summer hammond organ screamer from billy hawks (mukat 052) the label goes deep on an international funk tip. few years ago label manager nik played in france and the promoter pulled out a biosis now 45 that he never knew existed up till then and was generally thought to be a long album track only. an extensive search revealed nothing online including popsike/discogs/ebay except a tropical seller who d just bought a huge caribbean collection with the record included saying he d never seen it before either and he was keeping itâ&#128,¦failing to secure a copy themselves the label licensed it instead and created their own 45 edit which retains all the funk & soul of the elongated album version into a 7 inch friendly format. on the flipside and 1973 tumba safari from afro train get s a funky afrobeat re touch for peak time club play that would save you several hundred pounds on an original if you could actually find a copy !

returning with four tracks from four upcoming artists, lkr003 explores a variety of styles on the fringes of modern techno, with elements of industrial, noise, atmospheric ambience and clattering breakbeats forming an uncompromising whole.
on the a-side, strahinja arbutina’s brutal four-to-the-floor techno screamer ‘dehumidifier’ rattles the roof, leading into iazikzazubami’s slower, mysteriously murky ‘brmaa’, where visions of dark landscapes are conjured. on the b-side, consulate drags you further deep into the nightclub dungeon with his techno + breaks laden stomper ‘klattenburg’, while the ep is drawn to a determined close with hymns’ ‘map 7’, which gathers the eerie, robotic vibes of the previous cuts, and projects them into an energetic, mechanical climax.

seven tracks on the new lowriders release and its a real joy to listen to! the ep opens with the cheerful title track with the likes of kissey on vocals and it is amazingly sticky and feels like a compendium of 30 years of electronic music, with seemingly effortless transitions between detroit house, booty bass and future music.baby treats you on a twostep/house bumper which will kill you. bek is like your 808 swingbeat ghetto track: redundancy to the bone covered with bubbles and some essential vocoder science. sduk makes baby into a dancefloor stomper, whereas starkeys interpretation of field (which appeared on our beatitude compiler) adds and enhances drama and suspense from the original.and then there is the magical krampfhaft remix of tic tac toe, a worthy last track, schizofrenic, driven and recognizable as a mutated juke screamer.
