about a year after the release of his night drips ep (lln008) on sister label lumièreslanuit, keumel is back with sustain strain , confirming his taste for deep, rousing and melodic music, however, this time, with a on the a-side, space is her place unveils intriguing and asynchronous beats, whereas heavy body presents elastic sounds on a groovy electro beat with a naive twist.
on the b-side, shattered decay distinguishes itself with its melancholic melody and dubby bassline that twists your brain and your body, while unheard territory appears as an epic and orchestral track to close this melodic musical journey.

bleu nuit (bn) is glad to introduce to you to its second release red light city (bn02) by nice-based french duo gabardines. rising french djs from the south of france, gabardines is composed by olivier aka ghini-b and régis aka redj. if ghini-b and redj already have a couple of vinyl-only releases to their respective solo alias, gabardines is about to release his first ep under this name. indeed, in 2017, gabardines brought out sweat things ep on simple things records via bandcamp as well as a remix of lady b s liaisons on their own imprint swipe white limited a couple of years before. red light city ep follows the lead or rather, the musical line, introduced by both the label and gabardines predecessor flavio folco (bn01). as can be listened from all three tracks, gabardines are sticking to these break and gangster beats, offering a balanced release with some warmup (a1), peak-time (a2) and closing/after spirit (b1).

beware, discomatin is back. in 2018, the parisian crew of diggers and dj’s originally known for their edits goes official with fully licensed and remastered reissues. for this new adventure, they chose an incredible in-demand french boogie ep from diva, an eighties funk band from bordeaux. diva only released one ep with la nuit, a sentimental, almost poetic boogie banger with great synth, guitar and vocal parts. the track could honestly have been a radio hit in the eighties with some real promotion. today, it’s still time to make it right and it is already an anthem in the french underground disco scene. originally on the b side of the 1985 original release on cactus, la nuit is here available with its two different versions (12inch and 7inch mix) and comes also with prise au piege, a more synth-pop influenced funk track which gave its name to the original release. the band was formed by gabrielle andriampanana, alex louisor and olivier renoir. before diva, these last two already played together in the local new-wave band bolton which was one of the first of the area to use synthetisers. even if they had a small recognition at the time, the original release stood quite underground. thanks to discomatin, its now available to the real connoisseurs and still with the fantastic illustrations of french artist camille de cussac on the back cover.

bleu nuit (bn) is glad to introduce you to its first release a night on planet earth (bn01) by barcelona-based italian artist flavio folco. known for his musical compositions on his late imprint fresh food (napoli), among others, flavio folco has also made a name for himself as a dj with multiple appearances alongside his friend joseph capriati. whereas a night on planet earth could have seen the light of the day in 2015, when lumièreslanuit (lln) got the demo through a friend, it s finally two years later that the four-tracks ep is finding his place on bleu nuit, and not just any as it is kicking this new project off and paving the way for other break & gangster beats.

abstaxion and kasper bjørke return for their second collaboration on dc salas and abstraxions biologic records imprint. matin + nuit is a 3-track ep out in april. biologic records aim to explore the relationship between organic and analogue, natural and urban. this idea of polarity is addressed here through the themes of morning and night. matin is a ten-minute journey through a glistening landscape. celestial arpeggios and subtle dissonances are grounded by a hypnotic bassline and restrained percussion. ivre (drunk) takes an emotive turn. disorienting acid bass winds its way through mournful harmonies and overcast melodies, held together by a spirited rhythmic pattern. ‘nuit’, naturally, progresses into darker territory. there are familiar elements of disco, but they’ve been mangled to create something far more twisted. drums take the lead, punctuated by assertive bass stabs and ominous chords that howl through cavernous acoustics. matin + nuit explores seemingly familiar themes without the use of cliché, employing a diverse range of sound manipulation techniques to paint vivid imagery.

lumièreslanuit is glad to welcome istanbul-based duo bärtaub (mutlu san & batuhan güler) for the 6th release of the label. as in most of the duos, each of the members has his speciality. whereas mutlu focuses primarely on the music production, batu is known by istanbuls house/techno aficionados as a restless dj. bärtaubs debut ep is called rhizome (type of plant root) not without reason. beats, melodies and bassline jump over, crawl under and draw apart from each other in unexpected and non-hierarchical ways. in the end, they all come together in a harmonious manner that creates an overall of excitingly playful forest-like atmosphere.

key artist of the lumie&#768,,,,,reslanuit (lln) booking agency, david is also becoming a key artist for the label. right after his remix of roisner s piano roll ep (lln003) for the london-based label first year anniversary special release, david k is back with a solo ep: wrung door (lln004). according to david: wrung door oscillates between cold and warm, deep and groovy universes with a strong industrial touch, whereas lightly dark mimics the musical elements of wrung door but uses them in a different way in order to guide the listener to a different world. finally, broken swatch is a rather narrative and lyrical track. in summary, wrung door (lln004) gathers in one ep the two different sides that lumie&#768,,,,,reslanuit aims at developing: one refined and crisp and one dancefloor-driven.
