lauer always rhymes with power. proven by countless remixes, productions and projects like arto mwambe, black spuma, talamanca system or tuff city kids and his own-brand. there arent many dance floors left that havent been blessed by all this glory. now, the aptly titled third album of frankfurts prime export regarding all things melodic, teenaged and synthesized, intensifies, condenses and hones the sound, he has been developing for years: a topical take on classic dance and 80ies pop figures, disco music in a closet (lauer is still in denial), singing arpeggios, android choirs, beautiful bass lines and sometimes the apparitional architecture of house music.

we have encountered ice dog during one sunny belgrade afternoon while he was chasing what he was calling fish (actually slavic seniors transformed into dolphins and dolphin is not a fish). he might or might not told us the fore-coming story: a man complains of being hungry. all the time. dogs it seems are never hungry. so the man decides to become a dog. to be a dog one must walk on all fours. the hero decides to wear shoes on his hands only to discover that there is no hand left to tie the laces on the fourth shoe. what does a shoe-shod dog tie laces with? its mouth. organ by organ the man becomes a dog. one lace at a time his record transformed us into a new type of misunderstood creatures. most of the tracks are surprisingly fast and playable yet broken while others are groovy however noisy. i am pretty sure you havent heard anything like it before. but what do i know i’m a fish.

the copenhagen based pop wonders blaue blume return with a new ep - sobs. the band formed around 6 years ago in a provincial danish town, drawn to each others love for rich, playful music. blaue blume (blue flower) is the epitome of a romantic band, their songs are brimming with love and yearning. now ‘sobs, the follow up to their ‘syzygy album in 2015, continues to build their reputation as a best kept secret, about to find a whole new audience of devotees. all four tracks for the ep were recorded in late 2016 in a three story villa, formerly owned by a religious cult. the band used the weird space away from the city to create a framework for the lyrics and the music. the band explains: blaue blume has been our band for about 6 years. in a bigger provincial town we started playing right out of highschool. at the moment we live in copenhagen and every day we play, write and work on sounds. its sort of become a life project. in our heads we make music that is playful, rich in detail and popish or somewhat smiling. for some beautifully inexplicable reason we ended up doing music together. in a way it seems sacred or at least meaningful. macabre is a happy song about being afraid of dying. some of us find that even the best life can be lonely sometimes. we found it interesting to address this taboo within the frame of a song that people could potentially dance or sing along to.

keine ahnung was a quartet from w÷rth am rhein, germany formed in 1980. the original line up was rolf schmuck, franz h. rodenkirchen, elke fuchs and olaf schumacher. hermann kopp from stuttgart, a friend of the band, contributed a composition on their first lp and became a full member in 1985. taking cues from conrad schnitzler, tuxedomoon and dome, the band members shared a common interest in industrial, pop, avant garde literature and cinema. their controversial name translates to dont know or havent got a clue in german. the quartet would record three lps in 6 years, two of which remain unreleased.

1985, restored from a vintage vinyl copy (masters were lost long time ago in chicago...) copies sold for 0. on the youtube thread for the track a cousin of t. woodard says they pressed 2.500 copies of this - but that seems hard to believe unless they didnt sell and got recycled at trax and/or were simply thrown out, as this rarely show up anywhere. this is a very early and simple track which sums up the new and experimental sounds of early 1985 along with tracks such as jesse sanders on & on and funkin keith funkin with the drums. basic early house music that havent lost any of its relevance.

nice price deal !!! with this release, drop that records are happy to welcome onboard taron-trekka. the title track of the ep, >afro mammute< is a deep, bass heavy journey of mystery and nature by night. the steady drive and mind-bending, often spooky sound-design has a cinematic feel as the track builds up allowing the mood to stalk you. b-side offers >fss/m< in which you will discover an almost primordial experience in minimalist & repetitive house – a vision instilled in taron-trekka. featuring a repeating voice sample... >if you do something, then with the right attitude<, this calming character may just be the announcement our primeval souls have been searching for. this ep has refused to be pushed into a corner and manages to turn the light on in places we havent dared to see.

madrids downbeat have a good name around these parts - now jose rico steps up for off minor with the deep correctness. tip! label owner, gcz, says these three cuts will lead you deep into jose rico s dreams. on first listen you can immediately tell these were made by someone super sensitive and experienced in this thing some call deep house. if you are a dj, youll appreciate this selection, cause it makes your job easy and gets the floor busy in a sec. if you re a human, you ll appreciate it cause it ll make you feel stuff you havent felt in a while. anyway, i m very proud to release this record on off minor. jose rico and i go way back. this is a special record for me. orpheu de jong designed this wonderful sleeve. he has a gift. enjoy!

we turn to chapter 3 as we introduce a brace of remixes by easily one of our favourite djs and producers, the one and only lena willikens! we havent really went in for remixes much before with the label, as we feel strongly about the power of the original. in the right hands, a great remix can be equally as powerful though and lena has succeeded in bringing her own weird and wonderful sounds to a track from each preceding chapter - rroxymore from chapter 1 and oslo gabon from chapter 2, whilst still keeping true to the original work.

2015 repress. its been four years since my last own ep on stockholm ltd. the main reason for this is that i have been surrounded by music that has inspired me much more than my own. this ep was written and produced with strict narrow frames and a huge amount of frustration. i was tired of waiting for the inspiration to kick in, then suddenly it appeared with a strength that i havent felt for long time. im now curious for more. while sketching the title track, >wyatt arp<, i couldnt get detroit legend, terrence dixon, out of my mind. terrence is a long time hero of mine, and an artist that always stays on the true side of what we do while most of us occasionally leave our paths. i had to ask him to do a rework. / par grindvik

tck are gerd janson , who otherwise runs the spledid running back label and philipp lauer, who produces grand music under his own name and is half of the fantastic arto mwambe. they just remixed sven väth among many other fab projects, atop that are both irresistable deejays and have a pedigree of being some of the nicest blokes that we know! but that all said, you havent eventually heard the best. its called pf01.02.03.04 and are their tracks made for this record.
