nice price deal !!! the corestyle story continues... with forsaken is dead (known from his waking the tyrants device ep on corestyle last year, besides his various other productions for labels like meta4, industrial strength, six feet underground or hard kryptic) and cap (hard kryptic) we have two of the az hardcore junkies here. the a-side is represented by cap and starts with the title track this is not a war, a hard industrial uptempo pounder which is yet still atmospheric. the b-side offers 2 collaborations between cap and forsaken is dead. repeating patterns is rather techno-influenced whereas the second track, pulling strings (forsaken is dead remix) starts with a mystic intro and turns into a grooving and driving monster.

pærer, fresh label from france, influenced by detroit pioneers, uk experiments and berlin vibe, aims to promote the deep and experimental sides of techno. the first ep is a distant trip into a spatial atmosphere, combining percussive beats and perfect raw mixtures. an entrance in a deepness and grainy world, where you can feel the ground humming... include tracks by voice of sylenth (oscil8), untitled signal, jiman (nowhere, forsaken cell, singular) and a remix by birth of frequency (construct re-form, enemy records, concrete). enjoy!

the procedure club is a collaborative -bedroom-pop- project founded by andrea and polish emigré adam malec in new haven, connecticut in 2008. the two began recording as a natural progression from their boredom with living in poverty in new haven, sharing musical tastes in shoegaze and pop bands of the 80s and 90s, such as black tambourine, and the jesus and mary chain, as well as a common admiration for baroque artists such as purcell and bach. out of this god-forsaken alliance comes procedure club, in which adam and andrea have combined melodic song structures with heavily reverbed vocals, stuttering mechanical drum beats, dirty bass, synths, and alternately washed-out and jangly guitars.

no matter where the winds may blow, what storms may come or what pirates will do, the transatlantyk ship is still sailing. navigated for the last three years by zambon out of berlin, ultimately avoiding the shallow waters of the generic and constantly patrolling the seas in search of exciting sounds. after all that sailing the label just had to replenish its ranks with some fresh faces - those still capable of voyaging into the unknown. joining the crew is a young gun tamten, who by day serves as a vinyl pusher in warsaw s finest side one record store. what he does by night is not the matter of this short text, but we are sure he does a lot of it. hence his love for all things distant - from subaquatic pads and floating riffs, to new-age-y siren voices, otherworldly effects and percussion drenched in reverb. there is a lot of similarly distant, sun-bleached material on this five tracker, full of a druggy and hippy balearic feel. beautiful ambient jam przebudzenie is the stand out track, but znaki czasu is equally as good with its simple, yet memorable melody, reminding of dawns and sunsets on some god forsaken beach. sultry deepness of nieznajoma is followed by enchanting digital exotica of wyrocznia and wavey trip-hop cut po burzy . overall its one of the strongest eps that transatlantyk managed to co-opt into its growing catalogue. definitely one for the dreamers.

scorned by critics at the time of its release, miles davis 1972 album >on the corner< is now seen as a forerunner of post punk, hip hop, drum and bass and electronic music, thanks to its revolutionary recording techniques. miles wanted to reconnect with a younger audience, who had forsaken him for rock and funk, and the experimental >on the corner< was his answer. leaning more heavily on a drum and bass groundwork, the overdubs consisted of free improvisations held in the studio. >on the corner< isnt one of miles easiest records to listen to, but it can yield the most fruits. now released with completely re-mastered audio on 180 grams audiophile vinyl in gatefold sleeve.

alix perez and spectrasoul have earned their stripes as pioneers of the deeper and more melodic side of the genre. these gentlemen are known for their versatility, and their progressive attitudes toward music. both acts came up through shogun, and their first collaboration forsaken quickly became a benchmark for quality in drum and bass. the synergy ep is 4 tracks of concise, stripped back, mature and soulful music that bumps. perez and spectrasoul have recently formed their own imprints, and as a celebration of this, the synergy ep is a joint release between the artists labels - ish chat music (spectrasoul), and 1985 music (alix perez). the ep has seen repeated support from dbridge, skeptical, lsb, lenzman, marky, ivy lab and others.
