after almost 2 years without publishing new material. the label properproud reappears with this ep limited to 250 copies. the owners of the label santi and roger (strange connection) have worked very hard to remind everyone with this record that the electro-techno and ebm will not die ever! this time, properproud back with more force and with the intention of staying forever. closing mouths includes 4 tracks of 4 major artists and the name isn t coincidental. it s time to shut many mouths that don t rely on this kind of music the first one closing mouths (a1) has been signed by the owners of the label (strange connection) is the first time published in properproud. a track of pure ebm, dark and evil but with great force and which has received great support from artists like angel molina and dave clarke who has played several times in his white noise radio show. the second one hurt me (a2) has been signed by jonathann cast in collaboration with the voices of drey. after publishing in dancefloor killers come to properproud and do it in a forceful and dark track that can move any dance floor. bluntly electro-techno and without mercy! on b side, we find 2 of the best signings he has made during that properproud parentheses. in the first cut (b1) adriano canzian, currently one of the most bizarre techno artists, with halim the dream shows because david carretta and dj hell is set in it. a brutal track, direct and intended to enjoy it in a club. dave clarke has supported it without hesitation. and to finish off the ep, ruben montesco (b2), after his passage through lasergun and other labels turn to properproud to demonstrate in madrid that also makes good techno and ebm. insomniac s red room is a dark track, evil but with a lot of energy and a perfect voice. rubÚn besides being a great friend and supporter of properproud is undoubtedly one of the best producers of this style at national level. 4 tracks that shape a piece of craft for lovers of brazen sounds and is the first of a series of 12 inch that will see the light soon and will be limited to 250 copies. properproud is back .... stop the minimal. use your brain!

this ep opens with a funky but chill pinched, a mid-tempo track that starts out with a shuffled beat and deep bassline before breaking down and coming back with a haunting synth that is almost reminiscent of heartthrob. the second track on the a-side, sublingual, starts out almost as stripped down before turning into a smooth dancefloor track very much in the vein of the current output of dial records.

click box have fast become a permanent fixture in the minus firmament, personifying the subtle shifts that are taking place within the scene as the label expands its repertoire and broadens its horizons to incorporate emerging artists from all over the globe. already on to their second minus release of 2009, são paulo djs / producers marco as and pedro turra immediately pick up where they left off with the roving bass and pumping rhythm section of wake up call doing exactly what it says on the tin. as with the first ep, the oscillating synth patterns continue to dominate proceedings, painting neon shapes in the darkness before another delicious robotic sequence shifts the atmosphere by introducing a moroder-esque vibe complete with twisted disco bleeps. its just another example of how click box have honed their sound since their debut i&t release through a finely crafted mixture of proto-house, electro and techno, to create a distinctive hybrid thats fast becoming their own

after hitting his stride in 2008 with his debut for mobilee one is not enough followed by his second release, sand on the floor, the one-man phenomenon is back for a third round for mobilees 55th release entitled first talk, an enthralling tech-house release that is as boundless as it is stunning. the a-side first talk is a bouncing techy track that constantly moves forward and progresses without sounding the least bit rushed, continuously teasing the listener with build-ups that stop just short of peaking. combining vintage synths and reverb-laced loops, and.id meticulously plays with dynamics and atmospherics with the end result being a release that constantly moves forward without sounding the least bit rushed. b1 ephoria maintains a similar level of compelling restraint, with stuttered house beats and melodic undercurrents that morph and shift until they transform into arpeggiated swells leading the track to its endpoint. on b2 lights on and.id displays his darker, more minimal side, taking advantage of lower frequency ranges and recurrent echoes

this is the one you ve all been waiting for, the bad science ep from the mighty rustie. amazingly enough for an artist who has such an huge impact over the last year this is only his second full ep. i could go for on days about how good it is but best not eh. it all kicks off with the fractured hip-hop weirdness of tar and then swiftly moves into the massive bad science. we ve been seeing folk go crazy to bad science and rightly so, its an anthem and has getting properly hammered by kode9 and mark pritchard to name a few. its then on to the out there 8 bit bleepage of shadow enter. the b-side is now dedicated to the now legendary zig-zag and wireblock have really done themselves pround with this one by going straight to one of rustie s hero s the legendary henrich mueller (dopperleffekt, drexciya, arpanet etc) to add his own electro-physics sound to the aquatic mentalness of the original track. it comes to an end with zig zag (reprise), now the original was daft enough but this just to pushes it even further into new realms of madness. buy, buy, buy!

yep, thats right. synth pop sensations heartbreak remixed by the horrors. tom furse from the horrors has a fearsome collection of analogue synths and used them to rebuild this track from heartbreaks debut album from the ground up, and a killer job hes done too. as ali and sebastian from heartbreak both release on dissident their label lex thought it would be a good idea if dissident did the 12 inch release. obviously due to the nature of this release and the addition of the combined horrors / heartbreak fanbase its pretty much an instant collectors item and will fly out of the door at a fair old rate of knots so please make sure you order enough to keep everyone happy, i doubt well have any of these left by the end of the week. the clip is taken from the second half of the track as it turns into a glorious cosmic synthesizer orgy, theres plenty of arpeggiated trackiness before it gets to this bit

mountains is brendon anderegg and koen holtkamp, friends since their middle school days. they began exchanging musical ideas and compositions which led to them founding the apestaartje label in 1999. as their collaborations and individual projects blossomed, they decided to create mountains as a vehicle for live performance. a love of sculpting sound in front of an audience is at the heart of mountains. the groupÆs third album, æchoralÆ (their first self-titled release and second album æsewnÆ were both on apestaartje), is the culmination of their work to date and a balanced mix of the first two efforts. mountains are often compared to artists such as brian eno and fennesz, citing their extended melodies and their unique broad guitar work. mountains seamlessly blend pastoral electronic sounds with both field recordings and a plethora of acoustic instruments.the effect is incredibly sublime and hypnotic as the sounds slowly wrap themselves around each other and alter themselves in the mind of the listener. includes free download voucher.

the second body function relase, this time a stunning solo ep by the label-head himself. known for his productions and remixes for codec & flexor, he is dropping these hot tracks on his own imprint. the release is concerning between driving energy, reduced functionality and consciously chosen pathos. in codecs point of view the essential elements to invoke crawlies on the dancefloor >> repress!!
on their introductory minus ep, click box offers a refreshing return to a bygone era of classic instrumentals, full of experimentation and passion generated by that ongoing love affair between man and machine. berlin shades starts out in a jittery minimal fashion but soon dives much deeper as the tough electro bassline expands and contracts dragging the dancer to and fro. the cascading hook and in-your-face sci-fi synth motif add a sense of tongue-in-cheek drama to a dynamic arrangement that incorporates steep inclines, sharp drops and snaking pathways. as the short staccato bass riff gains momentum and the hook comes round for the second time you just know somethings lying in wait and the boys certainly dont disappoint. lost road is anything but a blind alley, kicking off with some low-slung interplay between a two-note bassline and a whiplash snare that dishes out a serious spanking. hi-hats fizz across the audio spectrum, cleverly pitching up and down before a drunken bass sequence ushers in the main section with its sliding, twisted synth distortions primed for surprise and immediate disorientation. once all the elements are in play, the fun really starts with so many objects of interest competing for attention. the arrangement is pulled and pushed to great effect extracting maximum effect from this tough little unit. more electro flavour to the fore as the loose, broken beat intro and robot sounds of some toys make for some slick moves on the dancefloor. the retro synth riffs and dark spiralling pads conjure up images of some early 80s lab full of computer kids in white coats twiddling knobs on huge mainframe monoliths. the bouncing bass and analogue belches make this a must for all retro-tastic electro-boogie fans. the theme continues over into voxer as rising filtered bass tones playout over another trademark click box drum pattern, this time doused in heavy reverb and delay. an array of analogue bleeps, screams and laser beams keep the motor ticking over.

its played by richie hawtin, monika kruse, someone else, brothers vibe, anthony collins! with boogie nights he presents a strong track with a heavy bassline, filled with lots of percussions and a nice delayed vocal sample. first part of senkel comes with deep subs and is more dry until the break. beware of the nice clap, that excels impressive in every drumfree second! excellent work! patrick reiths remix of boogie nights is a rollin, massive submonster. he used only a few cutted vocalsnippets from the original track for his breaks. perfect for the prime time

digitaline, the swiss experts in organic grooves and trippy rhythms, are releasing the second record of zurich based label cityfox. the vinyl features 2 long tracks, both telling their own story. the title track seeking attention builds up slowly, a perfect tool to integrate in dj sets, and starts its full power towards minute 5:00. with the catchy vocals and perfectly simple percussion, seeking attention is for sure one of this years summer anthems. it has one thing in common with the b-side track altra - a smart vocal combined with an undeniably tricky groove that makes all of you dance, with no exception. summer can come!

second installment by berlin based mri who successfully cultivated since 2002 some serious dance terrains. this release carries two outstanding and rare remixes as well as one original track. by taking techno deep into the mine shafts of dub, chain reactions / basic channel artist fluxion created an eerie, full-circle remix of the latter. you can hear that a man is at work who knows his gear well and is good in what he is doing. the production is brilliant, the selection of sounds superb, set-ups are constructed with caution, superimpositions are finely layered, propagations and ripenings are get going in a well-considered manner. dreadnaught bassline, steady hi-hats and lo-fi clips a must for basic channel fans ! on the flip, young talented producer u.e.s. delivers the meanest blend of modern techno style and reduced shaped subs that just creams it on every system. and as well as both guys together does mri with original track rough. the el castillo ep separates the styles over two sides and with rough functioning as a wicked minimal techno track with shifted groove hinging on a grinding bassline - drives the track into abyssal techno territory. fans of basic channel and modern electronic music enthusiasts will be all over this beauty.
