10 years ago the29nov films was started in a small village in southern germany. thousands of videos and millions of views later sebastian kökow and kevin paschold have become one of the most sought after video producers in electronic music - mostly for industrial-leaning techno, but also for all other kinds of electronic music. to celebrate their 10th anniversary the29nov has finally gathered a few of their favourite artists and they all have contributed to a compilation, which will be released on 2 double 12-es, one out in november 2016, the other one to follow soon.

be y&#333,kai’ is the collaborative project from techno duo minilogue’s sebastian mullaert , fellow swedish composer douglas holmquist and celebrated illustrator/animator kristofer ström . uniting music with art and the moving pic ture, ‘facefist’ leads a multimedia experience through a trio of mesmerising audio/visual trips - two films (‘facefist’ and ‘facemissed’) featuring japanese anime-inspired shape-shifting creatures and a third more abstract, alternate vision/soundscape( ‘facekissed’).standalone track ‘facetwist’ is a more propulsive version of leadtrack ‘facefist’.this debut release will be landing as a rare treat from hypercolour offshoot space hardware with a limited run of vinyl. art flourishes when the freedom, flow and creativity intersect. often a direct response to resistance, art transcends borders and the physical to allow transmission of the soul, emotion and consciousness.

it would be fair to say that hypercolour, the uk label founded by alex jones and jamie russell, have come a long way since the label’s inception 10 years ago.

the ongoing celebration of kontra-musik s 10 years anniversary is basically a recognition of the importance of charisma within the predominantly mechanical sphere of electronic music. to quote label boss ulf eriksson in a recent groove interview: -to release on kontra you need to have developed a unique and personal sound.

sebastian maschat a.k.a. stoneage kid has been around in the house music scene for about 15 years now: cult stoner house with extra produktionen , drummer in erlend oye s whitest boy alive and numerous other projects. stoneage kid is an hardware / mpc based act, with own vocals and a very distinctive electro pop aesthetique. his first ep on smile for a while creally sounds like captain comatose meeting isolee in some purple haze panic room. you ll find melancholic drum machine jams, some serious synths, lotsa vocoder and a lot of bassline-bumping. phillip lauer delivers a refreshingly cheesy remix with god singing solo and the holy ghost on drums just as expected. hang on to a dream is quite a special tune, written and sung by german indie veteran otto von bismarck. this remix version is really something for intimate connoiseurs of both pop and house music.

three mannheim based labels will be joining forces to release a 3 part ep showcasing the emerging talent coming from their hometown and community. 9 tracks, 9 artists, 1 release date.

nice price deal !!! about liminals uppsala based liminals were formed in 2009 by tomas bodén and anna-karin brus as a club-oriented side project to differnet, a band where they both are members. differnet gained widespread international acclaim with their experimental electronica on albums such as come on and bring back the brjokén sounds of yore and the title of the record is the text printed on the cover, or nothing at all. as tomas and anna-karin now explore the strobing lights of the dancefloor, they continue to draw attention and have already been recognized by pitchfork, swedish daily svenska dagbladet and swedish national radio shows p3 pop and p2 ström. when liminals released their debut, the hearthand ep (friendly noise, 2009), a video was made by sebastian rozenberg for the track the swim and the duo has since made a number of celebrated gigs throughout sweden and norway (for example, the norberg festival, the volt festival in uppsala and the phono festival in berg en).

nice price deal !!! jack of all trades musician jay shah b from normandy started his career as bassist in rock bands during the 90s. his rock culture was spiced up by hip hop and breakbeat at the beginning of the new millennium. as a fine producer he started to record bands and spent his time torturing sound, sampling stuff and scratching vinyl records. after a lot of time in the studio, in 2006 he released a abstract hip hop album recorded with his mate goliath, and then made a deal with kif records (birdy nam nam, jazz liberatorz, pepe bradock) under the name buzz burglarz. after two years in brussels, he is now back in paris with a pure electro ep >discopunk is dead<. meanwhile he is setting dance floors on fire all around the world with ecstatic solo dj sets, that could well make juan mclean, sebastian and others go green…

this is the phase ii ep of leo anibaldi variations. after evocation ep with sebastian mullaert (minilogue) realized on cannibald records, for the a side leo has proposed markus henriksson (minilogue) to create a new version of (always from reality) a track coming from the album cannibald realized in 1992. for the b side leo has involved donato dozzy to create a new version of aeon fusion 1 (1994) wich is a very particular tracks for thoose years considered by the statistics as one of the key tracks before the advent of dub dark techno music. the project will be out 1st july on cannibald records strictly on vinyl.

sebastian mullaert is of course first of all known as half of minilogue, a duo so influential in the hypnotic field of techno that korg recently named a synthesizer after them. lately, sebastian has focused on his solo path under the wa wu we moniker, releasing stripped back and personal music on his own wa wu we label, the cryptic s.e.l.f label and now on kontra-musik. on the title track travellers, sebastian mullaert uses a straight up techno formula that may surprise listeners who haven t followed his move into wa wu we territory. you almost get the impression sebastian buried a recording destined for a rigid techno label in a deep forest back in the 90 s and has now decided to uncover it again, finding that the track has matured under the black soil.

watergate affairs is a brand new offering featuring residents, regulars and affiliated artists that have developed close ties to the club through the years. over the course of four tracks, jimi jules, lee jones, la fleur and david mayer & sebastian voigt perfectly display the sound of watergate. diving right in is jimi jules and he hasnt let lost a step, picking up where he left off with his stellar bogota ep earlier this year by churning out a burner. 6% is rooted in a heaving low end groove while hypnotic tones spiral around a modulating lead that never lands in the same place, ensuring a twisted dance floor venture.

globetrotting dj and producer luca venezia, better known as curses, indulges in his nocturnal and romantic side, revealing a penchant for dark basslines. jetzt oder nie opens proceedings with a straightforward bass and infectious arpeggio line. sebastian voigt s reinterpretation keeps the focus in the deep techno territory, introducing a steady paced and anxious facet. stepping into an industrial influenced soundscape, power of darkness revolves around the hypnotic vocal hook, gradually transcending the listener into a late-night dancefloor trance. infinity maker plays on the mesmerising repetition of the initial coarse drum pads, resulting in a straight-up techno tool. the synth lead stays in the deep end, progressing to a beautifully dubby and atmospheric finale.

matt nowak drops a trio of mesmerising techno tracks on his zaijenroots imprint this june with appearances from sebastian klenk and jerome sydenham. matt nowak inaugurated the zaijenroots discography under his no mad ronin moniker alongside jerome sydenham in 2013, before reappearing for the second release with quiet daze (ian pooley) on remix duties. as the label returns for its third outing nowak pairs up with german producer sebastian klenk whilst distinguished veteran sydenham carves up a remix. *aleister* sees nowak and klenk create an acosmic track that initiates with a touch of funk before sullen synths make way for punchy sp-1200 beats and unsettling throbs. sydenham provides a rendition of no mad ronin *chemical planet* from zaijenroots second release, featuring a perennial hook joined by intangible spoken samples and a subtle sub bass. lastly *lenore* ties things together with a subterranean cut abundant with echoes and spacey atmospherics.
