inspired by the stripped back technical set-ups of yesteryear, mike monday and will saul present the sequence 1 ep, the product of the two artists limiting themselves to a roland 909, a korg kaos pad, a dave smith polyevolver and recording their jamming on the fly. >we wanted to inject some excitement, energy and randomness into this release, so decided to play the tracks live with mike on the 909 and keys and will on filters and effects. we had a broad idea of where we were going before we pressed record, and recorded a few takes of each track, then took the best moments from each. the big challenge was reining in the slightly chaotic recordings, but after some tweaking we found a balance between old school rawness and modern production values.<

its only fitting that this single is released on r&s records, whose relationship with the man widely acknowledged as the originator of detroit techno goes back 17 years and who released the last model 500 album back in 1999.

heavy stripped down killer berlin flavoured techno tracks berghain style! mr dehnert is slowly but steadily building a reputation as one of berlin s top techno producers!. after his massive release on clone things went up quickly with fachwerk label nights at berghain, shows at big festivals such as nature one, upcoming releases on deeply rooted house and clone, licenses by francois k, osunlade, the hyped md2 releases etc. not a bad start of 2010! fachwerk however will always be his home with uncompromising tracks that are designed for the dancefloor. big one!

italians do it better owner/traveling dj salesman/heavy record collector mike simonetti takes an edit to three very obscure 90s house tracks. we were able to recognize the a-side with some help. the track was altered significantly and intro extends and builds and builds and builds... the two tracks on the b-side sound like 90s japanese piano house and a happy house rave track flipped on 33 but to be honest, we have no idea what they are.

levante is the name of a warm wind, blowing between northern africa and spain during the summer months, a warm wind that especially surfers, but also other kinds of deeply relaxed summer people appreciate a lot. as some surfers and other people require some of this feeling already before next summer, schallbox records associated with monoroom has caught some of this wind and transformed it into levante una, which is basses, waves and beats that will blow some tube-heated pre-summer frenzy through the speakers and on the dancefloors. for an even longer surfing experience and a continued boomy feeling in your knackers (hmm sorry ladies?), martin eyerer, mike wall and steve cole have got their speedoes out and dived into 45°(celsius) warm drums and samples, in order to offer to you their personal renderings of levante una. wasn t there a track once, warm surferette??

mike maze returns for 2010! some of you might remember mike maze from one of his older projects together with martin gast as abysm. >future love< on marc romboys systematic label was one of the labels best sold releases ever. >the path< is a deep technotic track with an epic instrumentation. warm chords fly over the dark notched groove and the synths have an almost trancy touch which puts you into a great mood. including mixes by autodeep and micha mischer.

mr dehnert delivering! after is succesfull releases on fachwerk and the first basement series release its time for another essential techno release by mike dehnert. after the little hype on the many blogs its another release that will create a stir. lautschrift is probably the sexiest masculine techno track we ve heard in a while! a wolf in sheep clothes. undercooled phat techno drive with a nice mellow vocoder voice, soft bleepy sounds and a deep sub-bass... and then slowly the sexy bassline becomes more and more dominant and energetic and the tracks turns into a killer. amazing track! regelschrift and nano are two heavy techno tracks from the neue berliner techno schule. just as we like it!

mike minds only previous release, >acid machine<, has been tigas most played record since it was made. a full-time turbo employee, he has spent the past few years getting his brain around making techno, and continues to impress us with his output. his debut ep, >resonate<, is something of a departure for our label, and one we are very proud of.
its amazing to have this kind of music coming directly out of turbo hq, it nails a sound that we have always tried to cultivate. minimal without being boring, trippy without being predictable, unafraid of melody, and with just enough analog imperfection and warmth to it.
both of the remixers we chose represent different sounds in techno that have influenced mikes sound.

giorgio gigli is an italian minimal-trance maestro, an incredibly modern renaissance man who is also a trained sommelier.** he is rising in the ranks and catching up in profile to his occasional production partner, donato dozzy. hopefully we will have more of his tracks on turbo soon.

hobo is a fellow canadian best known for his excellent work on m¦nus. rumor has it, he borrowed richies quad-macro template file to finish the final version of this remix... whatever he did, his second effort came up huge, this mix is excellent.
