a collaboration between label boss mark seven and dance music legend boyd jarvis (r.i.p.) on keys here. deep house cuts with that chunky disco-dub sound, breathing echoes of ma foom bey and man friday amongst others. dope!

this split lp compiles the output of two closely related bands from, as suggested by the title, the hot, humid and (at the time) socially isolated city of brisbane, australia – an unlikely location for synth-pop and new wave music during the 1980s. prod & the moonbaby were a high school duo experimenting with tape loops, cheap electronics and primitive sampling.. the result is certainly lo-fi, light-hearted and naive, but also charming and the music belies the young age of the musicians. ash in october was in many ways a logical progression of prod & the moonbaby and shared some of the same personnel, but also added some new wave influence through extra instrumentation and more serious, considered lyrics. most of these tracks have never been heard before outside a handful of self-distributed tapes and this compilation was compiled over several years by the artists in collaboration with hysteric and nick mariano (crispy nuggets).

we hope you like this ep as much as we do, resolute label resolute label s tenth release, the nest ep , features the head honcho himself, elon. written and produced entirely in nest s brooklyn based studio, this ep is a collaborative project that showcases vintage gear such as the tr-808, 909, prophet 6, tb-303 and sh-101 to name a few. the ep kicks off with the title track, a stripped back number featuring arpeggiated synths, warm pads and 303 stabs, co-produced by bulgarian live maestro, kink, an industry vet who needs no introduction. on a2, elon teams up with the machine obsessed italian, mass_prod, for fractious , a techno number with swirling synths and reverberated vocal stabs that echo throughout. on the flipside, elon collaborates with techno don alexi delano aka adny to produce flirtface , a groovy 303 bassline track with resonant synth licks that keeps the mood rolling. the b2 vinyl exclusive track, meander , features a second collaboration with kink. offered as a digital exclusive and co-produced by david scuba, last call features a modulated bassline and intricate drum programming that effortlessly rolls along.

patrick vanos next installment on mos ferry takes you on a journey. industrealized ep is an adventure ride between techno and house with side trips into minimal or psychodelic areas. after his tape jam ep and the following remixes patrick did not sit back complacently. he mixed and compiled selected vibes, vol.5, was part of our mos ferry takeover boiler room in berlin and not to mention the long nights he spent in the studio for this release. the result is quality tunes right to the point.

with the release of their last album “smoke” (2013) dapayk & padberg moved to a listening oriented direction, that also works perfectly off the dance floor. the new single “sink this ship” underlines their decision to follow this path in the future … maybe even with their upcoming album “harbour” later this year. on “sink this ship” eva padberg unfolds her matured voice, which shows more confidence than on previous records. dapayk skillfully puts her voice in a common scenery, where the straight beats are long over and where is space for extravagances and inventiveness. however, this is not a radical change turning away from the club sound. two of the most sought-after remixer artists at the moment, robot koch and bebetta, ensure the suitability for the dance floor. robot koch skillfully disassembles (for which he is known) the original. primarily he builds his version on the emotional base of eva’s vocal part and dapayk’s warm bass line. however, on the flip side, there is almost a contrasting change. the slight melancholy of the original track gives way for a typical bebetta techhouse beat, that flows through the club in a dreamy, yet simply irresistible manner.

the *tape jam ep* is patrick vanos fourth release on berlin-based label mos ferry. the a side *rhythm disease* crackles and rumbles in this typical sound mos ferry is known for. *drone shadows* on the flip is much quiter and vano plays the techno bow in wide and flowing moves – best suitable for the later party hours.

the a1, named after the release title, is a summer techno drive, or a ride through a hot landscape in central america, as the notes of marimba suggest. the subtle but crackling low toms reverb dictates the driving tempo, while the chasing hats warn of a night which is likely to be dirty and sweaty. ready 2 glow opens with an enlightening synth note softly spreading through the air. its the after-hour call, the quietness before a new storm, which is about to boost and bring to surface the spastic contradictions of the drug-based soul liberating after-hour scene. corners goes funk, the quirky and rugged bass line lays at the core of the groove. above, we hear a multitude of spooky sounds and samples ranging from flying saucer sonic surges to playful stabs and bongo madness. the obsessive vocal echo, manipulated according to the abuse of ifferent drugs, is a clear indication of that. alza pure quanto vuoi is almost taken as it was firstly conceived during a jamming session. its twisted, swinging, it breaks the scheme of groove flowing as the tempo suddenly escapes to a faster pitch, jacked out

mr. statik is back on mos ferry with his new ep roll down the shutters. and he got massive support from sasha perera (jahcoozi). she performed the laid-back vocals on this release. remixes by dapayk and daze maxim complete the package - but enough with the name dropping. the original track shows influences in dub, but with an elegant touch.
