Stock5 und Octopus und dutzenden Remixes zu einer festen Größe in der elektronischen Musikszene entwickelt hat. Kein Alltagshouse - Es
handelt sich nicht um ein weiteres DJ-Tool, sondern um eine facettenreiche runde Platte, deren B-Seite nicht dauerhaft mit dem Slipmat
schmusen sollte... auch wenn es nach dem Hören der A-Seite schwerfallen dürfte, die Nadel nicht einfach direkt wieder in die erste Rille zu
setzen. Sofort wird deutlich, dass die Wurzeln von Mr. Statik u.a. im Breakbeat liegen. Kurze Drumloop-Schnipsel unauffällig unter die
treibende Hihat gemischt, geben diesem fröhlich vor sich hin hüpfenden Housetrack eine besondere Note. Den recht britischen
Gesamtsound des griechischen Produzenten bildet eine außergewöhnliche Symbiose aus House, Funk-Guitar Licks und leicht dubbiger
Atmosphäre. Ohne überhaupt erst in die „Cheesy-Kiste“ greifen zu müssen, versprüht „Come On People“ auf ganz natürliche Weise gute
Laune und eine gewisse Leichtigkeit. Die B-Seite als logische Konsequenz führt den Spannungsbogen weiter Richtung Afterhour.
Samplebasierter Sound formt gewollt die Klangästhetik und fügt sich so perfekt in das Konzept ein, das offensichtlich auf die 90er Jahre
Bezug nimmt. Das spiegelt sich vor allem auch in der Drum'n'Bass-typischen Fläche wieder. Die abwechslungsreichen Bassfahrten und die
punktuellen Talkbox-Vocals bereichern „Workin' It Like We Do“ um eine weitere Dimension. Track 3 nimmt einen noch einmal auf eine
andere Weise gefangen und stellt das Ende des Spannungsbogens dar. Jazzy Drums, Piano und geschickt eingesetzte Hallräume machen
diesen Track zum trippigen Schlusstück, das die kleine Reise mit Mr. Statik ausklingen lässt.

another DJ tool, but rather a multifaceted record with a B-side that shouldn't be left cuddling with your slipmat all the time… even though it's
hard not to put the needle right back to the beginning of the A-side. Listening to „Come On People“ you could tell immediately that Breakbeat
is one of Mr. Statik's various roots. Short drumloop slices inconspicuosly stacked with the driving hihat give this merrily jumping House track
a special touch. The British sound of the Greek producer is formed by an extraordinary symbiosis of House elements, funky guitar licks and a
slightly dubby atmosphere. Without even thinking of picking conventional and worn cheesy stuff to express lightness and happiness, this
track does it in a very natural way. The B-side as the logical consequence extends the suspense heading to the afterhour. Referring to the
90s the sound aesthetic is primarly formed by samples. The typical Drum'n'Bass-pad emphasizes the whole concept. A varied bassline and
selective talkbox-vocals take „Workin' It Like We Do“ to a higher dimension. Marking the ending oft the suspense, the last track captures you
in a different way. Jazzy drums, a piano and skillfully used reverberation make it a trippy closing piece for our travel through Mr. Statik's
world.
