magic source is a project led by producer björn wagner (the mighty mocambos, bacao rhythm & steel band, mocambo records), who is renowned for creating an authentic and hard-hitting raw funk sound. following a few acclaimed single releases on favorite recordings over the past few years, the french label deeply wanted to collaborate further with the german combo, for a special and exclusive project bringing their music on new paths. this new project is a step towards a new style: analog-electronica, or so called cosmic-disco sound.

reissue of an eye for an eye by byrne & barnes: a true westcoast/aor masterpiece, produced in legendary music city muscle shoals (alabama) and originally only released on japanese label climax. in 1981, robert byrne followed up to his 1979 album, blame it on the night, by teaming-up with multi-instrumentalist brendan barnes to record this rare westcoast classic. if they never recorded any other music together, both display incredible music career and went on to produce for many famous artists such as pointer sisters, patti austin, earth wind & fire, phil collins, brian mcknight, or boyz ii men to name just a few.

christian smith opens the show with his techno track - drive like a firework. fast and groovy played 909 hihats combined with a repeating lead bass loop is always a guarantor for a peak time track. but it s not enough with that. christian adds a second acid like synth line, which drills his message in your brain: party like a freak! remember literonvs - white falls

fuelled by a rediscovery of the music and artists that originally inspired their formation, the four walls of their studio were ablaze with a soundtrack of bill withers, isaac hayes and the isley brothers throughout the songwriting process for their new album. from the swagger of symphonic opener wanderlust to heartfelt ballad lose that way to the thunderous blues of the closing title track, the milks confidence in these songs and their execution is clearly audible. captured in a tireless outburst of creativity at the end of 2014, favourite worry is the milk at their soulful, honest and engaging best.

celebrated and mercury-nominated uk duo rae & christian released their first new material for ten years in 2013 on night time stories/late night tales after spending the last decade meditating in a buddhist monastery in swindon. this year the label commissioned a series of remixes from mercury rising and mang dynasty (aka ray mang & bill brewster) take on favourite game featuring rising star of the swindon buddhist circuit jake emlyn. mang dynasty focus on gita langley s backing vocal hooks adding a chorus piano motif and stretch things out into an epic nine minute plus main version aimed squarely at the dancefloor (and afghanistan). jake emlyns more aurally-pleasing melodic parts are utilised towards the end taking things up another level to a happy finish. initial reactions have been so strong it seemed rude not to slip out a 12inch on mangled, home of the hits!

nice price deal !!! a powerful production aptly named as it does sound like a train thundering through the speakers a dark train no less. sogrecords dont seem to have poor in their dictionary every track they release is of the highest quality prog and always refreshingly original. all three mixes are superb and come highly recommended
