camila fuchs (meaning fox in german) are the london based experimental electronic duo of camila de laborde and daniel hermann-collini (from mexico and munich respectively). after pursuing solo endeavours in various projects both camila and daniel left their native countries and gravitated towards london due to its vibrant and eclectic attitudes to different cultures and the arts.

elegant divide are peter oldroyd and samantha gare, based in london uk. formed in 2014 elegant divide combines the talents of classically trained vocalist samantha gare and electronic pop music pioneer peter oldroyd. peter is a well-known mix engineer and record producer, and best known for his 1980 s experimental synth pop band camera obscura. samantha, trained at the italia conti academy of theatre arts, has experienced chart success before and lends her distinctive voice to the project. elegant divide expresses the dichotomy of dark and light in electronic music with songs that explore lyrically the emotions of urban living. with the use of vintage synthesisers (moog prodidy / source, novation bass station, nord lead 2, paia fatman, polyfusion modular, yamaha dx7) and drum machines (roland tr-909 / tr-808 / tr-707 / tr-505, yamaha rx17) their sound is rich and analogue, and samantha s cool vocal delivery creates a mood that is simultaneously accessible pop and dark and haunting.

born in sao paulo to a deeply religious family, laercio has been around music all his life - amidst the challenges of daily life, his adventist parents would whip out all sorts of instruments whenever the situation would allow it, introducing a young and curious mind to a wide range of musical expressions. it should come as no surprise, then, that our hero quickly felt at home with notes and bars, choosing the flute as his first weapon of choice which he eagerly studied from the age of seven. even later non-musical career choices always reflected an infatuation with the world of sounds, like his stint as a capoeira teacher, combining martial arts, acrobatics and dance. with such a multi-faceted background in music, the inevitable tinkering with synthesizers and other means of electronic sound generation was rather a question of time than one of ambition, and sure enough we find laercio roaming the parties of the mid-noughties, absorbing the unique melange of styles and scales that inform club culture to this day. in stark contrast to most other rave inductees at the time, however, he never wanted to become a dj: his area of expertise is the performance, not the collecting and curating of other people s releases, and it shows in the unusual fact that laercio has held club residencies as a live electronic musician in venues like sao paulo s the edge without ever so much as touching a record. in these release l_cio has worked with d.o.c. mastermind gui boratto. and the result is music for the dancefloor.

while attempting and failing to apprehend the shadowy figure known as max abysmal during a frenzied chase through the underground amsterdam arts establishment het skatecafe, we recovered a boxed reel of quarter-inch tape. intelligent assets have confirmed that this contains musical recordings of the type used to pass on coded messages to the safe trip organisation. the first recording we have titled donna, dont stop. we include it with this message so you can perform your own anaylsis. note the use of a rising and falling electronic motif capable of inducing a trance-like state in those untrained in listening to electronic music this potent and emotive. sutekhs mirage, the second coded composition, is bolder and warmer in tone, making use of dazzlingly colourful melodic patterns and passages of percussion that reference polyrhythms. do not be fooled by the surface beauty of this recording: it is capable of inducing hallucinations and irregular heartbeats, and therefore could be very dangerous in the wrong hands.

iury lech is a transdisciplinary artist of ukrainian origin part of the few pioneers in the spanish electronic and digital audio-visual scene that began to develop during the 80s. his open and unclassifiable style made of eerie sonic atmospheres, arrhythmic structures and dense textures create hypnotic ambiance and a new way to conceive experimentalism. wrongly described as new age music at that time, musica para el fin de los cantos is a stunning and deeply emotive ambient work, that stares down at the eternal enigma, giving a glimpse of iury lech s classical music of the future. iury recorded this blissful masterpiece in his barcelona s studio in 1989. it was then published in 1990 by the unique spanish label hyades arts. its 2017 and its time to unearth this magical piece of vibrating chords to please your sensitive yet hungry ears. sit back and enjoy the meditative state.

dzar, a new experimental techno project from marseille, aiming to explore advanced interactions and capabilities between modern analog hardware and digital tools. after a decay releasing house music under the alias of damien zala, dzar is dedicated to a more minimalist approach of electronic music. inspired by graphic design, architecture, and numeric arts.

back in the days at the west-saxon highlands there was a missile, which marked the starting point. when credit 00 saw the legendary rocket rise on tetris’ final screen, it was the first time he became aware of electronic music at all. since then it actually hasn’t changed that much. he keeps pushing that buttons that belong to the impressive pool of music machines towered up next to his bed. after moving to dresden in 2000 to study fine arts, his passion for synthesizers and drum machines got nurtured through visits of dresden’s club-canalisation. he quickly made himself a name as a dj, who is just doing his own thing and got popular for that reason. as a part of the idealfun-crew he started hosting parties always in the twilight zone between legal and illegal. this led to “robo dance”, dresden’s only and (also for some other reasons) best electro club night featuring guests like dmx krew, luke eargoogle or imatran voima. the track credit made with randy barracuda of imatran voima has probably been created some time after the show. apparently, randy was not in good shape anymore and so “lebensraum” unmistakably bears credit’s hallmarks. for his own music he’s inspired by cannibal movies, number theory and birds. still, his music is not easy to pigeonhole. after all, he loves synth wave, electro, afro, kraut, kosmische, disco, italo, miami bass and other proto stuff – a lot of machine music.

newly established berlin-based vinyl-only label dreiklang dive straight into the physical world with first contact. the label’s distinctive triangular concept is reflected in its name with dreiklang pursuing a three-fold approach to electronic music. each release presents three contrasting takes on the same source material, juxtaposing and unifying three particular electronic music sub-currents. for their first outing, dreiklang call upon an international team of producers with och, hydergine and kelovolt dropping in for their respective shots of tech-house, dub techno, and dark drone techno. the tight three-tracker will see the light of day on a 500 limited edition run of 180gr high-quality wax with the beautiful hand-drawn designs of berlin artist nils altland gracing each sleeve, transforming the covers into individual works of arts.

dont touch my sister is romain azzaros rouge mécanique début album. cinematic hazy instrumentals and a heady mix of post-punk, italo disco, ambient and noise shine through azzaros dedication to his signature telecaster slide-guitar, bringing acoustic life to electronica. citing the visual realm as a strong influence on his music, rouge mécaniques releases are often accompanied by short films and hand picked design. the prelude video for dont touch my sister was born of a collaboration between romain azzaro and the film maker louis vignat, as inspired by the cover artwork of les beaux arts de paris artist jeanne briand.
