the structure and the essence of this release, focuses on a current argument in which more and more people in this society are found to be the early protagonists, often without even realizing it. the artist wants to tell and convey through his work, a point of view towards this theme. as can be deduced from the title of the ep, the project is to express and represent a war of colors, which fight the monotony of everyday, always flat and dark.

the maaskant polychoral style was a type of music of the late modern electronics and early indie eras which involved spatially separate voices singing in alternation. it represented a major stylistic shift from the prevailing polyphonic writing of the early electronic generation, and was one of the major stylistic developments of the 90s which led directly to the formation of what we now know as the pure modern style. a commonly encountered term for the separated analog choirs is cori analogici spezzati — literally, phased choirs. the a-side, featuring eyo olokun, signifies unfathomable deep grooves. that is, the instinct that there is something worth knowing, perhaps more than can ever be learned, especially this bassline that most people spend a lifetime pondering.

these days house music is often about a 4/4 beat and a catchy groove. the idea is to do something simple to which you can get your groove and, and not so much about listening. the borders of electronic dance music makes room for the hypnotic beats, the driving grooves, but not always the melodic universes. leman & dieckmann have been making music for several years, both together and apart, but almost all of their music was driven mainly by the beat. but both having an urge to discover the dynamics of melodic synths and melodic percussion they decided to make an album. they agreed that the album had to tell a story, and like so many times before in music the topic became love. the story they try to tell through the music on the album *takes two* is the story of a breakup, the denial of the need of love, and the discover of the fact that often in life it takes two, to be happy.

after taking a short break house of disco records are back with a purpose. not content with the adding to the plethora of disco edit labels representing the genre they have opted to walk a more distinct path, determined to lean on originals or clever sampling as opposed to outright re-rubs. in this their twelfth release they recruit previous label-mate harry wolfman and compadre skinny love to provide three stunning dancefloor ready originals. the duo have certainly delivered on the brief and turned in three diverse and clever takes on what a modern disco track with a house soul can represent. on remix duties they have recruited a promising young producer kickflip mike, who has released on box aus holz as joschka seibt and paired him with experienced disco merchant the revenge who is responsible for some of the best remixes we know of, and he doesnt disappoint here with either remix.

industry sheds all personalized effort and tests how far you can get by using presets only. all sounds are factory presets of 3 obsolete 1990s japanese workstation synths, all effects are presets, all notes are quantized and most panning is purely accidental (laid out in the preset sounds). industry doesnt rely on successful presets, but on failed sounds of now obsolete synthesizers - industrial assumptions of where culture will go, but where it chose not to. the result is a surprisingly pleasant listening experience with effortless grooves and rich textures - and mildly demonic connotations. from smooth to kicking - a conveyor belt enjoying mood swings. as beautiful as the scheduled meeting of a pvc sheet and a thermoform mould on a workbench.

the original, with a well-constructed bassline incorporates a warm up melody that begins to set the tone for the night ahead. each layer is distinct as the track begins to build itself right to its crescendo when each of those individual layers collectively come together. you can distinctly hear the 80 s like synths that are cleverly inserted into the track which are highlighted by the female vocal samples. the grittier elements add a touch of darkness and instantly transport you to a warehouse club with an intimate atmosphere. the remix, done by the widely loved tech-house duo pleasurekraft jack up the tempo a notch, and add a bouncy groove to the track. where the original brought out a darker side, the remix is more upbeat and settles in well for a peak hour set. bringing that crisp bassline to the fore, and tuning out the melodies to make them a tad subtler it showcases a more tech-house version of the original. there s an added element a slightly more haunted vibe which is coupled together with those gritty and harder elements. all i can conclude is what a tech-house bomb this is from the highly talented pleasurekraft. they always manage to bring something new and unique to every single track they ve ever remixed which truly shows their remarkability as consistently good producers.

coming from the darkest depths of the south american jungle but raised in the city of utrecht in holland, julian alexander is a name that might not have fallen on many ears as yet but we guarantee you ll be hearing a lot of this 18 yr old powerhouse in the future. with a background in jazz and a trained multi instrumentalist, exploring hip hop and underground house and uk garage, julian soon started to craft a unique style and put his own slap and funk into the mix. focusing on a deep powerful sound with plenty of pound he quickly caught our attention as his meaty, stripped down minimalism explores an even darker chamber of the dungeon . julian s hustlin ep delivers the kind of tracks that keep the floor moving, essential tools that can be the perfect transition or the spark that lights the fuse on on the dance floor. can you believe he made the track undrg at the ripe old age of 16 years old. it really blows our minds to think he made it 2 years ago and it still sounds fresh and futuristic. as with all our releases these jams are tried and tested and proved to be very useful for building the tension and getting those fist pumping. their solid, track, bass heavy vibe will have no problem bothering even the biggest bass bins

here it comes the third release from rising label with an original track from deepbass, another rising artist, that gives the name and life to this record and gets completed by remixes from abstract division, max_m and p.e.a.r.l. the original track, -sleepwaker-, is a deep gummy trip into the deepbass world, shaped on modern techno. following, we can find abstract division remix, where the dutch guys goes on purposing a very beautiful version keeping at time an eye posted to the dance floor. on the b side we can find max_m s version, a track that goes punchy and energetic from the beginning while keeping all the essence from the original, simply and very effective. p.e.a.r.l. closes the ep going darker and harder with a broken track, -loopy- and powerful version to complete another finest techno ep.

as festival season goes on forever, so can the models four tracks. these heavy hitting floor stompers are pretty much the differece between slow-burners and longplay tracks.

this is the record of the year for us. goldffinch are mindblowing on this one, it is their very first move in this direction and the reusult is just brilliant. this is dj material that cannot be overlooked, all three gorgeous tracks out on vinyl in september as part of our clubwerks series. within the infinite flow of quality emotional techno, goldfinch have geared up to follow the fine sonic trail lead by the likes of life and death, innervisions, ten walls and many others bringing together the massive appeal that only impeccably crafted techno can draw. we just want this music played where it can be heard by everyone. endless love.

as one of the more distinctive minimal house operators in these times, ion ludwig makes for a snug fit over at trelik towers, and with this three tracker its not hard to see why his records vanish quicker than you can say baby ford. 46 lj + felix ballad is a refined groover with a fine balance between gritty low end chunk and gossamer top-end, working subtle hits of bass and illustrious string sweeps into the mix to great effect. em carpet meanwhile darts out into more obscure territory, keeping the beats to a minimum and focusing on warm and fuzzy synth tones cycling
