after the release of “right here” in summer 22, fava returns with his debut lp “lifetracks”.

the house is invisible at this point and the music turns out the side on an axis. look around, everything seems a bit off .. the colours are distorted but something seems different, it’s as if everything has shifted slightly or moved a few inches to the left. there’s static, i blink and i can see the house again, but it’s not the same. the third release on 0 produced by c3d-e and hashman is disorienting liquid art - warped and provocative, spread again across two full sides.

sylford walker’s heart-stopping 70’s roots anthems recorded for glen brown are rightfully regarded like holy relics of reggae. the -lamb’s bread- album gathers up these classic sides and once again makes them available for the roots disciples. mixed by king tubby at king tubby s, this remastered reissue is the quintessential sound of 1970’s jamaica. an album so full of roots, you may have to scrape the mud out of your amp after playing!

2023 repress incoming! for the second effort on his very own oblique imprint, ben buitendijk returns to the sound he’s only showcased through his well received promised land (mosaic) and a recent remix through subwax. this more dubby approach is the general thread in the sophomore oblique release called “past and present ep”. generally, this release is threading into deeper territories than it’s predecessor but is therefor revealing different sides of the label owner’s taste that are maybe being underexposed thus far.

we have unearthed some lost copies of a long-out-of-print dfa classic, four sides of ecstatic synthesizer improvisations from delia gonzalez and gavilán rayna russom. produced by the dfa at dfa for dfa.

some 20 years on from its initial release, it s amazing how fresh and current praise by leigh dickson sounds, every bit as reinvigorating as a swim in an icy mountain stream. sushitech imprint pariter have opted to remaster the lush original mix in its full glory, adding the already well known and much loved baby ford heavenly circuit remix alongside a new, unreleased alternative remix and new mixes by pariter s own ogerman and derek carr. all four sides are eminently playable in the deep house/techno framework, as you d imagine, with varying levels of the original s bewitching instrumentation retained.
