an ep of golden bug on lddlm has been a long-time coming. paths crosses, encounters, similitudes. but it took all of us time to agree on how golden bug should fit into our mortal ethics of fragmentation: we don t want to sound like anybody else, each track on the ep should all sound different. the french but barcelona based producer played our game, anticipating his future and very diverse album with a spook yet catchy 12inch. wild boys was an instant ear-catcher, some proto funk with a very strong vocal by yan wagner that made it sound like duran duran on speedball. it was hard to take it to another level but lord tusk, one of our favourite producers of the emerging -no genre london scene beefs it up, kraftwerk way. its moody as we all are. ik voel je shows the more experimental spaced out side of golden bug, we d call it space rock if we had to. do not neglect l-horloge, it s slow, dark, menacing but it s a real time bomb if tuned correctly.

locked grooves third release on his eponymous label sees the belgian deliver an intense and driving two tracker. following his memorable collaboration with mind against and a track on life and deaths some things rise compilation, end/scherzo reveals a dark rêverie. end, with its haunting, hypnotizing synths, pulls you deeper and deeper into the vortex while scherzo brings you back up for air with its lively play of arpeggios and crescendos. end/ scherzo arrives on december 11th on both physical and digital formats, while both previous locked groove records releases will be made available digitally for the first time on the same date.

and just like that, sounds of the city bring out a new walt j ep! the label is fast becoming recognised for its ability to force mythical house producers from chicago back into the studios after decades of hiatus, and we still don t know how they manage it! after brian harden s recent stormer, this three-tracker by the great walt j is just what we need to sooth our evenings a strong beat winds into starry melodies and forward-thinking percussion on test your limits, while simplicity (the atkins tribute) calls all stations to detroit and lays down some utter truth it s exactly the sort of house music we want to hear bald, fiery, and deep as hell. bypolar, on the other hand, is classic walt just doing his thing dope samples, heavy chords, and dusty drum swings. the quintessential house shit.

4 friends who rather be early than l8te. mechatok is the man. 18 years old, relatively new in the game, he is delivering on a level we didnt even know was existing before we got to check out his stuff. moving effordlessly between contemporary pop aesthetics, video game soundtrack and dubstep influences he produces music that could work as a score to the nasa end-of-the-year resume commercial but also gets your local dancefloor into new spheres. this of course is only one interpretation it could also be normal musik in some better place, we suggest you go there and stay as long as you can.

disco tools 1° moods is the first ep of sampling moods records label. in this first release eddie lays down the defining ingredients of his label: disco-funk samples, distinct rhythms and recordings on tape. assisted by his mentors, eddie sets out to make his mad passion for a particular music (…classics from the paradise garage, the loft sounds and the disco-funk hits) amalgamate with a galvanising rhythmic construction, which is raw and rough.
as a piece of art that touches our mood, sam try to make us rediscover the power and love of the original classics, through the continuous repetition of the samples. the label focus on a specific musical need and want to offer a contemporary garage house, raw and essential interpretation of some rare groove hits and other disco classics. the choice to add only rhythmical scores is due to enhance and exploit the sample itself.

candido cameron was a cuban percussion maestro who had played with luminaries such as dizzy gillespie, buddy rich and count basie throughout his illustrious musical career which started in 1952. fast forward to 1979 and candido finds himself caught up in the disco boom that had engulfed his adopted new york city. feeling he could add his trademark quick-fire conga and bongo playing to disco s straight 4x4 syncopated rhythm he cut some records with legendary nyc label salsoul. the fruits of this partnership were 2 full length lp s and a handful of 12inch singles that changed the face of underground disco.

last spotted together on the cut some three years ago with their eponymous debut lp, the crew like kaidi tatham, akwasi mensah, matt lord, and dego ‘ranks’ mcfarlane reunite for this fresh 2000black 12&#8243,,,,,. off the christmas card list is apparently a precursor to a second album from the quartet and it’s the last 12&#8243,,,,, in a fine year for 2000black that saw the killer dego lp as the centrepiece. the a-side is dedicated to the title cut, an endlessly slinky boogie number that really showcases the collective musicality of this crew, whilst the b-side is split between “hurry whilst they are away” and “fila high”. the former is bugged out beat down west london-style, and the latter a killer latin-flecked cut.

our little label have grown static, we reached the fourth vinyl release. times it call, and brings it to the point. the young producers maurits and luca barletta done a really good job. with their different styles they took you on a journey in time and space. luca barletta made a tune reduced on old school beats with some dub chords. that brings every house lover a smile in the face and make them dance until there is no tomorrow. maurits an awesome talented young producer made a modern deep techno track. with dry beats and huge basses. straight forward through the night, thats the maxim of his sound. including some remixes by chris bc & rhadow

since it was very hard to grow musically or in any other artistic way in regard of our surroundings, we always had a need to find inspiration somewhere else. things that were a given for some were far fetched and hard to come by. a distant dream. that s why we decided to go forward. a final push to reach the place we wanted to be. a place we can call home.

edition 282 marks the long awaited debut of manuel anós aka psyk on the expansive and honorable tresor records catalog.
the madrid-based producer had previously released a single track jackin under the alias maan back in 2012 on dj deep s kern vol. 01 compilation.
psyk takes the stage with a four-track solo ep ‘works’. on both side’s first positions – with ‘definition’ and ‘balance’ – psyk delivers electrifying tracks teetering on the boundaries of hypnosis.
