black repress! andre kronerts seminal exu ep gets a comprehensive rework from some of the most outstanding on the scene. tense and sinister new cuts from kronert introduce both sides of the release, whilst the label calls upon remixes from berlin mainstays efdemin and ed davenport, as well as hollands finest export juan sanchez, plus stockholm ltd label boss par grindvik alongside fellow swede peder mannerfelt. retaining the slurred vocal of the original, efdemin layers thundering effects over chasmic bass in his mix of into the zone, which saw heavy rotation last year. meanwhile davenport brings a wild yet streamlined intensity to c.o.d.e.2. side b sees grindvik team up with mannerfelt to provide a joint interpretation of into the zone, which they manipulate into a peak-time epic, with a soaring melody over hammering toms. finally, juan sanchez channels funk through roll the dice with a twitchy, groove-laden rework. the spirit of exu is made physical once again via 12 inches and 27 minutes of wax.

copenhagen’s music for dreams label is releasing the third edition of their popular sunset sessions series curated by kenneth bager on limited edition vinyl. ‘music for dreams – the sunset sessions #3’ is compiled by danish dj, producer and club owner extraordinaire, kenneth bager (aka dr baker), the label boss music for dreams and one of the most prominent curators of balearic and chill out music.

zaquoir alias matthias groß is a producer and musician currently living in leipzig. after sending us more than 10 gigabites of great music, we sat down together and tied a selection of his really eclectic styles of production together into one lp, creating some sort of showreel created in the timespan of over 15 years. zaquoir himself sees the record as a reminiscent mood of a donkey in the sardinian sun and describes the record as a trip in itself, allowing the listener to traverse the lines of various acoustic landscapes. the tracks on the lp where produced in six different places, including a historic house in the centre of vilnius, the artist residency blumen in leipzig, a french-german art association and a village in northern bavaria.

we re glad to say welcome to renè for our second wax. with his residency@circoloco in ibiza since years, he had the chance to play at some of the best gigs in the world. his track anything has a unique touch, with a lot of warm and deep pads that match perfectly with bassline, doing a beautiful atmosphere. renè on the keys never fails, that s what we say! alessandro di maria aka sossa is another italian resident dj of circoloco in ibiza. he worked with a lot of amazing artists like mass prod, quenum, subb-an and many more, especially with his own label garbant wave. his track toga is what we call a trip, ranging from minimal beats to deep pads and chords. certainly this one makes the right job in the warm up! we re happy to have the young talent giacomo trevi in the b side. with releases on claque, superfiction, etruria and more, his track voyage has a powerful 909 groove, with an old school pads and some detroit influences in the chords.

an ep of golden bug on lddlm has been a long-time coming. paths crosses, encounters, similitudes. but it took all of us time to agree on how golden bug should fit into our mortal ethics of fragmentation: we don t want to sound like anybody else, each track on the ep should all sound different. the french but barcelona based producer played our game, anticipating his future and very diverse album with a spook yet catchy 12inch. wild boys was an instant ear-catcher, some proto funk with a very strong vocal by yan wagner that made it sound like duran duran on speedball. it was hard to take it to another level but lord tusk, one of our favourite producers of the emerging -no genre london scene beefs it up, kraftwerk way. its moody as we all are. ik voel je shows the more experimental spaced out side of golden bug, we d call it space rock if we had to. do not neglect l-horloge, it s slow, dark, menacing but it s a real time bomb if tuned correctly.

locked grooves third release on his eponymous label sees the belgian deliver an intense and driving two tracker. following his memorable collaboration with mind against and a track on life and deaths some things rise compilation, end/scherzo reveals a dark rêverie. end, with its haunting, hypnotizing synths, pulls you deeper and deeper into the vortex while scherzo brings you back up for air with its lively play of arpeggios and crescendos. end/ scherzo arrives on december 11th on both physical and digital formats, while both previous locked groove records releases will be made available digitally for the first time on the same date.

and just like that, sounds of the city bring out a new walt j ep! the label is fast becoming recognised for its ability to force mythical house producers from chicago back into the studios after decades of hiatus, and we still don t know how they manage it! after brian harden s recent stormer, this three-tracker by the great walt j is just what we need to sooth our evenings a strong beat winds into starry melodies and forward-thinking percussion on test your limits, while simplicity (the atkins tribute) calls all stations to detroit and lays down some utter truth it s exactly the sort of house music we want to hear bald, fiery, and deep as hell. bypolar, on the other hand, is classic walt just doing his thing dope samples, heavy chords, and dusty drum swings. the quintessential house shit.

4 friends who rather be early than l8te. mechatok is the man. 18 years old, relatively new in the game, he is delivering on a level we didnt even know was existing before we got to check out his stuff. moving effordlessly between contemporary pop aesthetics, video game soundtrack and dubstep influences he produces music that could work as a score to the nasa end-of-the-year resume commercial but also gets your local dancefloor into new spheres. this of course is only one interpretation it could also be normal musik in some better place, we suggest you go there and stay as long as you can.
