just in time for the summer we give you our third release geography 003. the excellent 12 inch is the result of two interesting collaborations between some of amsterdams finest with one common denominator: dj extraordinaire esther duijn. on geo 003 she teams up with long time studio mate steady douglas and delivers two fantastic tracks. duijn & douglas has got a fine history with releases on such labels as nowar, studio soulrock, feelharmonic and exquisite music. the third track >just close your eyes and…< is produced by esther and new talent campati. it features berenice on smooth vocals and its their first ever release! the three track ep is spanning from deep slow-mo disco house to dubby techno. dont sleep on this one

yes ... we release records. yes, its marvellous to see that journey from the spring to the sea, that spark of inspiration in an artists eye as it traverses its way to a beautifully packaged piece of 180g vinyl ... but sometimes, its also nice to remember why we started a label in the first place and to visit that dusty corner of the studio where synths, patch cables and spring reverbs lie in wait, taunting us go beyond that perfect 3am comfort zone of the 8 bar loop, hazy red/orange lights and aromatic combustibles.

studio one dub 2 is a second collection bringing together some of the finest dubs from the legendary studio one records, kingston, jamaica. dub music was the creation of a generation of brilliant recording studio engineers in jamaica. but although clement coxsone dodds studio one is hailed as the greatest of the jamaican recording labels, and although many talented engineers worked the board at dodds brentford road studio over the years (including sylvan morris, syd bucknor, overton scientist brown and dodd himself), studio one was never typically known as a centre for dub.

shakarchi & straneus are faik and daniel, two bffs from gothenburg who are making some of the most catchy, emotional and well crafted dance music we have heard in a long time. both had been involved in music for a while when they started working together at their hometowns top tapas joint, manana. in between washing dishes and serving patatas bravas, the boys would burst out short tracks and sound experiments in the makeshift studio they had set up inside mananas cloakroom. this led to a debut 12 inch on malmo based geography recordings and now comes their five track ep >dodskallar och korallrev<: studio barnhus second release, the best swedish house record since jesper dahlbacks >what is the time mr. templar?<, something we are immensely proud of being able to release.

earlier this year they got together at martins studio in derby to create this classic deep house number. the parts were then taken to their respective studios to create their own versions. freds mix has a more straight forward vibe to it while martin takes things to the deep end, adding dub elements to the mix.

the third and final remix package for mathias kadens masterpiece album -studio 10- comes along with two reworks of mathias vakant label mates onur Özer and dewalta. onur Özers >hâre remix<, a massive, bass driven rework for kadens >chazz<, takes the track to a deeper, more jazzy level, until it fades out with a dreamy yet abstract melody after 11 minutes and counting. david koch aka dewalta takes on >ikenga< (an african god of time, success and achievement), which is surely kadens most played track of the album. david maintains the acidic vibe of the original, adds his very own funk and sends the track back to the dance floor.

afu limited welcomes alex long to it s artist catalogue and he starts with two slammin and cool technotracks with ultra trippy vocals! there is not much need to say anything about these tracks, just listen and enjoy the trip through the space age with a fast beating heart! since he was young, he has always been impressed by the sounds of the synths, electro pop and later on acid house. in the beginning of the 90ies, when the slovenian electronic scene was still in the making, he was a regular guest in the legendary k4 and palma in slovenia. he was taken further into the world in 1998 when he took his first steps behind the turntables and he has been producing music since 2004. since then, he has had quite a few releases and remixes for different record labels. he has dj gigs with huge names of the electronic scene and in large festivals in slovenia and became the official slovenian hero of the future in 2007 at the disconautica festival.he spends much of his time in his studio, where his thoughts are converted into notes and melodies, and as he often states, he finally found a style that suits him and always finds a challenge in. what is that style? he doesn t like to be defined by a specific music style, as he prefers and is influenced by many different genres of electronic music. alex long is definitely a name we will hear of in the future!

this record has been in the making for some time. originally, hott 22 created a track called, &#147,i feel love&#148,. bonnie bailey heard the song, loved the track, and wanted to write lyrics to it. bonnie and eric kupper went into the studio with hott 22&#146,s track to record and produce bonnie&#146,s lyrics for it. after we heard bonnie&#146,s performance, we were extremely excited, and asked the legendary eric kupper to create a new remix. shortly after, we asked thomas gold to work his magic on the track and he created some real gems to an already solid package. finally, the alter ego live element had to get in on the project as well, and produced two more floorfillers.

the chart buster martin solveig was glad when his roman friend and colleague lorenzo rumi called upon him to return to the roots of house music, starting from the early, glorious chicago scenario and its immediate and infectious groove. so far away came to life, as an impulse with only 2 days of hectic studio session and a few liters of coffee. the guys worked on a stricltly old school basis, then added a full vocal and new elements to bring the fine charme of todays house, turning so far away in a contemporary composition rich of surprises and thrilling breaks. the performance of australian soul singer rachel claudio gives a touch of attitude with passionates and unforgettable vocals. definitely another epic stone in the b2f wall!
