the french trio evergreen (previously name we are evergreen) grew up listening to pop music from the us and the uk. yet, like many of the most influential artists of todays french pop scene (fishbach, halo maud, etc.) they value both french and english to deliver their message. this new album Ôoverseas was recorded with ash workman (fran�ois & the atlas mountains, metronomy, christine and the queens), and see the band use a warm sound loaded with synthesizers and draw influences from the likes of django django, air or metronomy to craft percussive electro-pop songs.

a-sun amissa is a project formed out of leeds, uk in 2011 by members of glissando and the rustle of the stars. built on the foundations of the unknown, a project that encompasses minimalist drones, modern-classical movements and avant-garde tendencies. richard knox (glissando, the rustle of the stars, of thread & mist) & angela chan (glissando, the rustle of the stars, ten, tomorrow we sail) began forming the initial ideas in the autumn of 2011, moving away from the piano-led ambience of previous outputs. new album you stood up for victory, we stood up for less sees a-sun amissa moving in a more dense direction, the drones are heavier, the sound thicker and with the added bass-clarinet of gareth davis there a new slightly darker jazz element now to the music. the two tracks were conceived initially as two drone guitar pieces, following that, work was done on the composition and atmosphere of the tracks adding the bass-clarinet, viola, vocals, field recordings and piano. the finished works produce an unsettling but hypnotic listen with melodies moving in and out of the mix throughout these two pieces. you stood up for victory, we stood up for less is released a year on from a-sun amissas debut desperate in her heavy sleep (gizeh). the band will tour the uk and europe in february and also play a handful of uk dates with barn owl in april. recorded at cloud blunt moon and city 1, leeds in october & november 2012. mixed by richard knox. mastered by james plotkin. photography by fr�d�ric d. oberland. layout & design by richard knox

poolside began as a recording project in a converted los angeles backyard pool house in early 2011, producing sunny tracks of subaquatic indie dance music in this makeshift recording studio. surfacing first in the form of a youtube video for the catchy track Òdo you believe?Ó poolside were soon gaining local and national attention, with djs like james murphy of lcd soundsystem, techno legend derrick may, and disco don todd terje spinning these tracks at events and a growing online following. throughout 2011 poolside continued making waves with a sound called Òdaytime discoÓ through tracks like their cover of neil youngÕs Òharvest moonÓ and original tunes. in 2012 poolside worked on a remix for longtime disco punks the rapture and held fans over with a new single and video for a song called Òslow downÓ as they prepared to release their debut album. that album, pacific standard time, was self-released in july of 2012. after the albumÕs release, remixes for artists like matthew dear, little dragon and foolÕs gold soon followed, as well as rehearsing and touring with a live band and doing dj sets around the world. as thoughts turned to a second album, poolside went on ice for a year to regroup, beginning to work in earnest on another album in the fall of 2016. while still revolving around the sunny, laid-back disco sound of pst, these sessions yielded the additions of up-tempo dance songs and more guitars, and generally more fleshed-out arrangements. poolside surprise released their second album heat in 2017. poolside have over 1.5 million monthly listeners on spotify and have fans all over the world. they are currently on tour as a live band.
