while their sporadic appearance remains a frustration, it s hard to find fault with boe recordings halal prepared series of eps. this third installment of the series, which lands 12 months after it s predecessor, contains another quarter of high quality deep house jams. the real highlights - to our ears, at least - are the two tracks that doff a cap to classic detroit techno, whilst keeping their feet firmly rooted in deep house. both -star struck- by chicago deep and havantepe s -plane waves- capture the retro-futurist spirit and stargazing electronics associated with the motor city perfectly. elsewhere, keep an eye out for taelue s -desolate dreams-, which offers a bittersweet trip into ultra-deep house territory.

what do people like balihus daniel wang and royksopp have in common? they write nice things like this about our (not so) new talent kid on the block. polosh superproducer maximilian skiba! music from a very good young polish producer, warm chords, funky melodies, think bass and guitars by chic meeting a string section by beethoven, with a touch of italo-disco and almost flamenco-like soul daniel wang he produces very nice italo disco tracks, im a fan royksopp. shanghouse is an instant hit. i would say instant classic if this wasnt so daft and meaningless. if you just heard it 5 times and feel the need to put it on another time. thats shanghouse by max skiba. then theres a great remix by victor rosado and a great slightly diverse prins thomas edit of korsakot another track.

the km editions series, admirably helmed by the mysterious keyboard masher, has always been one of the more interesting re-edit/rework labels. past installments have touched on krautrock, disco, balearica, funk, italo and what can only be described as electronic oddities. this sixth volume offers up three more impressively remixed, overdubbed and reedited gems. theres naturally much to admire, not least the omd style woozy synth-pop of stolen shapes (stealing rework), which should tickle the fancy of anyone of a balearic disposition. the same can be said about the immersive, sun-kissed pianos and shuffling grooves of -astral playground. there s also a chunk of silly but, perversely, rather good french cod-reggae in the shape of le cod-, arguably our pick of a strong bunch.

new year, new release and a new local talk member to introduce to you all - lets all welcome merrick. this young wiz kid steps up to the plate with a three track sweaty and headstrong release for our local talk off shoot ltx. developed deep inside his sound lab somewhere in europe, using dark grooves and dusty chords as the foundation - this release leaves you in no doubt where his current position is - in the club. from the opening track do that with its chunky grooves and warm basslines via the scene, a basement deep house track that ll satisfy all the moodymann fans out there. the last track, devils dance, keeps us hypnotically locked from start to finish with its rich and warm chords, have a listen - youll understand why.

alex font repeats in oblack- only like the best and he does it showing the most acidic and clubby version of that the real house that permeates their sound from start to finish. this acid flow is the fifteenth reference of the pastorial label commanded by snna and nacho arauz- from ibiza the valencian alex font presents us with an original passage of festive house, trotter and no-friend of the depressions where the legendary sound of the roland tb-303 is the pacesetter, disguises the soul and adds foundation to the track. and, since it breaks the acidic sound through antonomasia, this acid flow, shows his playful and fun side. this is a bright and optimistic theme, designed and checked to make us dance with a smile on our face, no doubt. a bare-chested tribute to those early 90s when electronics was all about joy and effervescence.

here we have one of our favourite kitties. affkt! he is one of the most experienced electronic producers coming from spain. lost in process ep is a two tracked affair backed with the remixes from cristoph and wehbba. the title track is such a delicate cut, boasting the sensual vocals from thomas gandey which evolves the cut into a deep and emotional song that radiates pure joy. on the other hand, boss is a darker and techier cut featuring thomas gandeys robotised voice that perfectly balance the whole cut. the remixes from cristoph and wehbba bring out the burst of energy the release deserves.

havamal inspired briton will flisk takes his filmic approach to music to the streets with his first output on our curious little imprint. with the help of good friend black merlin (george thompson) on synths and drum machines and natasya hodges on cello, this amazingly orchestrated title track (red planet) takes us to different planets and back, even though our money is too short for commercial space travel. nashville, tennessees very own grey people (alex j michalski) works his distortion on a sinister remix (b1) thats leaning towards the more techno side of things. for the b2, will bestowed an amazing bit of roughness upon us.

mortem returns! one of demands keyartists graces us with two brand new cuts midnight analogs and y.o.u. for our 24th release. the young polish drum & bass producer has been busy in the last 1.5 years finishing various production projects and latetly got back into the studio to finish off this stellar single. after the success of his last single bring it down / malfunction in summer 2013, mortem once again proofs that hes a master of basslines. while midnight analogs is a hard hitting dancefloor track with trademark subtile soul vocals, y.o.u. is more of a deeper afair. a track that builds up slowly to turn into a minimal bass roller. naughty!

legworks 2nd single comes from another one of our texas compatriates, the indelible brett johnson, fresh off some amazing work on classic, get physical, rawax and other killer imprints. the mission harks back to some of our favourite dub-techno moments, but keeps its own flare with bretts signature robo-rhythms and chopped and screwed vocal cuts. on the remix tip, its label head lance desardi & convextion bringing their own flavour to the table respectively, with lance stepping to the chord memory, deep bass, and over sampled drums, and convextion going all the way out into hyper space with his usual sub-aquatic space funk.
