make no mistake, for vault series 15 the doors have been flung open to welcome a new act to the fold. theres very little known about mistake made. no records or releases exist to date, but they have impressed vault chief subjected enough to have them join the sequestered berlin-based crew. and in sublime compliance with the vault series creed, this debut effort from the shadowy outfit presents yet another set of functioning and frill-free dancefloor material, complete with a rusted-through hue of its own. on the a-side >wrist< jumps straight in with marching intent, complete with fidgety hat work thats both anxious and infectious. then on the flip, >ricochet< opens with field recordings tossed into a stormy concoction of ticks, hats and fuzzy atmospherics, teamed up here with one of those basslines that will keep you glued to the floor. >indec< then concludes in signature vault series style an ominous, growling number rattled with alarm bells and screeching, clangorous detail. its one of those monstrous slow-burners that leaves you wounded yet longing for more. all in all, a rounded first release from a new techno tour de force. this isnt the last we will be hearing from mistake made.

roots go deep are a label devoted to releasing music by south african artists. since 2012 they ve released seven eps by names like d.nel, makhen gigga and label owners ofuren and fred buddah. now that they ve established themselves in the digital realm of music, roots go deep arrive on the physical medium with a split ep of deep and dubby sounds from ofuren and fred buddah. the two provide two collaborative tracks in -floral synergy- - a woozy house jam in line with mcde s raw cuts - and -do deejays dream of dancing sheep-, a sublime mix of subaqueous chords, chilled out drums and touch of acid. buddah just about goes ambient on his solo track -ragan- while ofuren keeps it heads down and uber-dub on -ripples through reflection-. roots go deep indeed.

vasista, the first track of leskin’s ep is a pure analog techno weapon. it’s a vigorous rhythm makes of this track a proper dancefloor killer. its major asset is probably the break’s trick that offer leskin and which leaves no one indifferent at first listen. with monkey track ii , leskin if taking us on a dreamlike deep journey. half fanciful, half raw, the result of this combination is a captivating track! on the b side, the last track of the ep is a remix by “ el pingon “ (no one but greg beato himself). el pingon has captivated the essence of the original track and brings a hint of jungle and sprinkle drum&bass. the signature mysterious broken beats and blurry sound effects close this track with sublime class

newcastle upon tyne (uk) based turquoise blue presents a very special release featuring four original tracks from non-other than kostas tassopoulos – better known to many as ekkohaus. for those unfamiliar with turquoise blue, the label has been causing quite a stir ever since its first release in 2011, featuring music from household names including laura jones, kris wadsworth, dj w!ld and djebali, among many others. it was clear from early releases on heavyweight labels including morris audio, 2020 vision and liebe detail that this was a man with a big future but, to many, it was ekkohaus album release in may 2013 that defined him as a major player in the game. released by matthias tanzmann’s moon harbour recordings, the album topped many a download chart and was a firm favourite with djs around the globe. this is a landmark release for turquoise blue, which started life as a digital only label but after starting to press vinyl in september 2012, the label has gone full circle with this, their debut vinyl-only release. not only does this release sound incredible but it looks sublime and is as much a collector’s item as it is a dj tool. a limited run of 300 will be pressed on heavyweight, clear marbled vinyl.

martin lewis, the insane house kid from berlin is breaking bad with his new and massive “rewind ep” on freebase records. with his first strike “believer” he delivers a flat footed house banger with a grumpy bassline, flavoured with an hypnotizing vocal sample. the second track “ breaking bad”, a genuine groove tool, is also influenced by martins garage credo. sublime melody riffs are competing with a wiggling bassline. tuff city kids, aka gerd janson and phillip lauer come up with two mind- boggling remixes of “believer”. at the “acid remix” they take out their breaky 90s acid drumset. this one is dry, jacking and sophisticatedly tribal. the “tuff city kids remix” starts with desert- dry acid elements which grow up to an uplifting acid soundwall. a true “jack in the box”.

last magpie makes his electric minds debut with the *influences* ep in april. the eps three original tracks combine the producers knack for punchy uk club tracks with elements of the pioneering electronic music that have informed his music tastes. inspirations from classic hardcore, jungle and garage loom large on ep opener *mirdad*, while *pledge* takes things on an electro tip with nods to the sounds leading mid-2000s exponents. *i love me* juxtaposes light and moody elements for a heavier take on disco and chicago house, while the ep is completed by a sublime trevino remix, as the soulr boss reshapes *pledge* into the kind of tough, hypnotic house he has made his forte.
