the second instalment of the aprÚs vinyl series sees australian producer touch sensitive (also a member of van she) kicking things off with >body stop<, an italo disco stomper thats been at home in the fc catalogue for quite some time. recently unearthed by london based producer toby tobias in a chart of >hidden gems< it seemed only natural to ask toby to remix body stop and the result sees toby putting more space in the track, pushing it further onto the dancefloor and keeping it playful all at once. on the flip we take the uk connection a little further with leeds based producer bonar bradberry floating into cosmic territory with >fought & won< whilst toby tobias turns in some glorious tour-bus-disco on >azul blue<, guitars and acid lines sitting comfortably side by side for the ride.

after a longer gap than intended, part two of the cage & aviary remix series lands with a bang. truck are an enigma of a band, only forming when the astral alignments deem it appropriate - the next is due in 2012. cage & aviary take the brilliant vocal into proto/acid house territory with a killer bassline ready to move any dancefloor. crude vocal cut ups add to the 80s remix feel, while guitar licks, god pads, and all manner of prophet warblings come and go in a patchwork of angled sounds. sinister strings cut through at the mid way point before the superb outro vocal takes you home. for the dub, ape into jam & leo zero put their heads together and push the track into more of a dancefloor place, employing arpeggiators to keep the cut and paste elements rolling along. leo is a man of many excellent edits, productions, and remixes - watch out for an exciting new vocal project coming from him soon
cihan oetuen better known as ækurd maverick is a german based house music producer who first rose to fame with his legendary remake of æpump up the jam (by the d.o.n.s. ft technotronic) æthe rub became instantly addictive, was snapped up by cr2 records and immediately became essential new tune on pete tongs show here we have 4 of kurds best tracks including æthe rub on 1 slammin e.p along with a remix from freeramge main man jimpster who turns out a superb variation. limited pressing place an early order
gothenburgs goeran dahlström follows up his rather excellent remix of maelstroms enter the cosmos with his first solo production since 2007s back2back / angel babe the tin man on bear funk. encapsulating a real sense of summer, this sun soaked epic should soundtrack everywhere from california to croatia this year. remix duties fall to the prolific deep space resident brendon moeller who, under his beat pharmacy guise, turns out a more dance floor friendly re rub of the original while full pupps man of the moment blackbelt andersen delivers a fantastic slice of scandobalearic to complete the package. also features on the pizzico records compilation for an old dope, new aesthetics

rmxy by robert dietz & arnaud le texier !! born in france, it is in ibiza/spain that luc ringeisen founded the records store vinyl club in 2003, wich has been an important element in the spread of underground electronic music in ibiza (and therefor in europe...). the record label vinyl club recordings created in 2005 went immediatly succesfull and helped to discover some of the best underground music producers of the moment such as petre inspirescu, jonas kopp, and some of the best djsproducers of the world famous clud dc-10/ibiza (circoloco). luc ringeisen is nowadays resident dj at underground-club / ibiza and the vinyl club recordings events take place all over europe, having its main residencies in berlin (where the label headquarter is since 2007) and in ibiza. for his debut on safari he delivers 2 tracks absolutely pure quality.
a1: decimals concoction is chunky with a thick creamy broth. spaced out spiced sonic crumbles interact with your waistline. basslines? plenty, without the pork. bring a spork. a2: ominous tones shape a rocky mountain of inferred understanding. what did she say? 303 like analog waveforms try and decipher the words like musical hieroglyphs. b1: the voice of darkness speaks to mortals. bells ring and merge with the ether. madness ensues. a fog descends on humanity., b2: showcasing nonstop high kicks, david lee goth is the star attraction of satan s rollerdisco! like an unrelenting metronome, the drums disguise his disfigured soul. jpls strips it down and paints it black
first release for this new italian label, who claim to bring techno back to its top level. we re inclined to agree with those sentiments, as are the others who have received promos of the release. the a side consists of two deep and dark techno tracks, that should also find favour with more minimal djs. they are apparently by a popular northern european artist, going under the guise of ????. the label has kept such a secret that we dont even know who it is. on the b side, we have a soz adams (esperanza, archipel, gumption) remix of label head obtane and fris, which is a retro chicago style excursion, and german duo sebastian herre and obscure close the ep with a more detroit techno inspired track.
fergie s offshoot label - rekluse is back after a short break with a new release from joint label owner - mr henry von. the track itself is a belting siren laden killer that builds brilliantly to devastating effect. on the a side there are also a couple of useful air raid sirens thrown in for club use. on the flip side there is a brilliant remix from loco and jam that superbly utilises the original parts. the second track to finish - graceland is also highly effective.
incl. petar dundov remix joel mull >soursweet< finally sees the light of day! – it was actually the very first record signed to spectrum and was due to be the opening but release but due to unforeseen circumstances, the release was delayed. but it has totally been worth the wait as the final package has already got a few very select djs, who were lucky enough to receive it, very hot under the collar. remix duties come courtesy of petar dundov who’s mix has already gain early support from eric prydz who said: ‘this is absolutely massive! a sure hit of miami and summer 2009

the enclave of both established artists and fresh undiscovered talent whose shared passion of deep underground detroit influenced house and disco are reflected in the quality output you will come to expect from the label. franc spangler, the revenge, zepp001, john daly, alpha child, 6th borough project, tuccifunk and pezzner are just some of the producers creating their work with tender loving care for delusions. dog01 will be setting the standard with the soul part ii from craig smith & the revenge. these boys are currently riding a wave of successful releases, mainly in the form of their disco and boogie edits under their 6th borough project guise on instruments of rapture. here we see them move into original production territory with a bass heavy slice of brooding and grooving floor friendly house but with their own unique twist. tempos are kept low, drums are kept live sounding and the subtle italo synth lines all ensure this track keeps true to their roots in disco. for their 6th borough project dub they dive head first into a slowly building, drum and percussion heavy workout which has a beautiful tension to it. this is music for small basements with big sound systems. finally we have john dalys beautiful interpretation where he opts for a blissed out, understated and hypnotic sound that wraps you up in layers of warm, echoing synths whilst the groove chugs along masterfully. a true mood setter or after hours classic
trg is undoubtedly the hottest grime producer on the circuit right now and has been whipping up a storm with releases on cool & deadly, trouble & bass and is now signed to tempa. two heavyweight smashers on very limited against the grain, buzz saw shaped vinyl make this a real collectors piece.
stormtrooper is back on rebelscum again with some awesome new tracks! backed up by the dj producers remix of one of the tracks multi mutilation machine on the flip side.
tyrant is the dj duo of craig richards and lee burridge, who operate as a team in the booth, resulting in a most distinct mix previously unheard. while other mix discs might split chores between two different jocks, tyrant are very much a solid unit.
big with mylo, erol alkan, a-trak, alex gopher, crookers, shinichi osawa , popof . co written with gonzales and co prod. by soulwax >shoes< is a taster of new album >ciao!< which comes out may 11.
with browse dplay is pushing things forward and proof that a laidback tune can cause some serious action on the dancefloor. it is a journey into the future but always referring to the past. it is somewhere in between disco and house and even catches the spirit of legends like roy ayers. on the flipside theres a deep and techy remix by ribn, which are dplays homies langenberg and manuel tur out of essen.
dionisis sternaras aka dio s, is an exciting greek producer that gives us his second release here, a two tracker ep of gigantic proportions. starting in a deep chuggy prog style gives a false impression of whats to come.. the track turns a dramatic thunderous corner , after the drop!
amir ardon, an israeli artist and the father of the elegant universe project is a multi talented creator, producing refreshing tracks that reflect an interesting variety of musical genres from down tempo minimal to electro house and fat progressive beats. with releases on baroque, mashtronic, flow vinyl, sprout and vapour recently.. his addictive deep beats have been cooking up a storm.. here his latest offering is a gorgeous bit of techno influenced prog , with a glitchy tech remix from shifter and carvell
with remixes by deekline and ed solo, swagger beats and rico tubbs, it very well could be the largest booty breaks track of 2009. a essential buy for those who like to bounce!
the anthem is back - as 2009 update! minimally and absolutely removed sounds determine the new version of electro city. including mixes from jay preston, nikolas bay and haus klaus!
cynosure flag ship artist and label navigator mike shannon reaches into his archives and selects the much-anticipated “the box ep.” “the box is open” was always a highlight of many of mr.shannon’s dj sessions and live acts. this cut delivers nostalgic, old school of detroit, soulful, techno jack. a ton to digest there but there really is no other way to sum it up. adam marshall graces the ep with a stormer of a remix. taking things a step further, adam really explores a different use of the chords given to you in the original. a smooth kicking set of drums and ever elevating sequences of synth keep you on your toes never really knowing exactly when things will drop. definitely a production trait that adam is best known for and it never fails on the floor. howie mangel
raver is an epically proportioned electro-edged progressive house track that is full of heads-down drive and bags of excited tension. a massive buzzing bassline shifts through euphoric chord changes to create the dub treads a more linear route, preferring a slower burn to to the more full on vibes of the original version. pig & dan have been drafted in to provide the remix and have delivered a storming tech-house banger
