digging deep into the annals of gospel now, the name pastor tl barrett should be familiar to the eagle eyed crate diggers amongst you. an extremely colourful character from chicagos southside neighbourhood who found himself on the wrong side of the law for his involvement in some activities of a dubiously illegal nature, more importantly, besides this the pastor was widely known for his community activism and positive sermons preaching love and responsibility.

the first release from naissance musik (nm) is a 12” vinyl from the super-group dream scoring (hear and hakim murphy) entitled images of a myth. it is comprised of 4 tracks. a myth is a legendary story that a community validates to explain part of its reality. however any member or group within the community can have his or her own version of the myth, and the myth can also evolve through time. we may all listen to the same track but this track still calls up intimate images for each and every one of us. a myth is full of adventure and mystery, it is epic and full of emotions. it can be anything from the lost ark to greek gods fighting. the aim is to fill our bodies and minds with emotions. the main idea is to tell stories like books or movies, but through musical notes & rhythm. the music makers provide the musical image, the listeners create the myth. and vice-versa.

for over five years, all day i dream has been where deep and emotive meet house music. propelled by a community of forward thinking artists drawn around the scion of master curator and sunset/sunrise set specialist, lee burridge. all day i dream formally welcomes lost desert to the label with the release of lingala, a two-track collaborative effort with burridge himself, that also features junior on vocals. lost desert was picked out of obscurity after burridge discovered his music while trekking in a remote area of a long lost land. a fast forged friendship inevitably lead to the studio, and lingala’s the enrapturing sophomore result. the duo’s first project together debuted on lee’s night time imprint, get weird, earlier this year to widespread support. lingala, is a beautifully composed ten-minute sonic journey. built around a mystical lead vocal sung by newcomer junior in his native linagles the raw emotion slowly builds in intensity over propulsive basslines and deep melodic grooves . gorje hewek & izhevski’s interpretation of lingala is a markedly different affair. focussing on musical layers rather than the vocal the duo’s signature spacey atmospheres and minimal rhythmic percussion add extra strings creating uplifting moments that contrast the original’s mood.

berlin-based dj and techno producer savas pascalidis has been steadily making his mark in underground electronic music circles since his first releases in the mid-90s. born in south germany and later moved to berlin, the well-traveled dj has been among the restless and classically minded members of the dance music community over the last decades. he developed skills that led him into producing records and made a name for himself with a series of dark, loopy and groove driven dancefloor orientated techno music. pure and simple. his releases earned him a reputation for being something of a dance music purist.

as half of heltah skeltah, 1/8 of the boot camp clik, and with a successful solo career in his own right, sean price (brooklyn, ny) had a cult-like following, releasing critically acclaimed projects such as ‘monkey barz,’ ‘jesus price supastar,’ and ‘mic tyson.’ sadly, sean price passed away in his brooklyn apartment in august of 2015. the entire music community has since been grieving his untimely death, though the release of this 30-track mixtape, now available on vinyl offers an opportunity for fans and friends alike to celebrate the life and career of the storied mc.

chilean born and berlin based dinky has forged a solid and illustrious career over the past decade. ‘casa’ announces her new album set for release on damian lazarus’s crosstown rebels this autumn, with remixes from axel boman and satori. a trained classical guitarist, singer and keyboard player that has held a dj residency at berlin’s infamous panorama bar since 2004, dinky’s sixth album, also titled ‘casa’ will be the first since the birth of her two children.’ dinky’s delicate vocal on ‘casa’ is both up-tempo and spacious, with infusions of acid, leftfield and electronica in its veins. axel boman delivers a stunning, emotive and epic nine and a half minute dub version, overlaid with spoken word samples referring to lost experiences. the swedish born producer is much-lauded for his releases on dj koze’s pampa, permanent vacation and his own imprint, studio barnhus, formed with kornel kovacs and petter of border community. while the hedonistic take from satori takes ‘casa’ up beyond the horizon. a future crosstown rebels artist, satori has released on 8bit, under your skin and bla bla records. ‘casa’ sees a return to form for dinky and a welcome return to the crosstown imprint, after previously releasing a single and a mix album for the pioneering label.

mr trum* wakes up at his manhattan residency a bit dizzy from his late night scotch and cigars with some right winged peers. after his classic raisin and bran breakfast, he decides to flirt with the raver community in order to win some votes for the upcoming elections. his decision seems irrevocable now, the first measure he will adopt if he gets elected is to build a wall of sound on the whole mexican border and start a macro rave under the premise of -we are all immigrants-. inspired by this extraordinary situation, 4 producers (hack force one, pau roca, scott ferguson & the enigmatic 3%) reached a sonic epiphany and the second ep of black money records emerged.

dj ralf is the italian icon who runs the much loved laterra recordings label and management, and is now back with ‘er suonone’, a new track from margot that is all set to be a late summer smash. anyone who has heard the legendary dj ralf (a cult figure who has been the subject of a documentary, has played all over the world, runs his own legendary bella ciao party and holds a cult residency in cocorico) play recently will most likely have heard this track in his set, and it has been an unknown but much loved secret weapon for a while now. as such this one sided vinyl pressing will please many people who have been hunting it down. margot, of course, is an italian pair of accomplished producers who have released on, les disques de la mort, hell yeah and border community and run their own margot records label. ‘er suonone’ is a pumping, deep, slow burning bit of cosmic house that builds and builds and teasers listens without ever releasing the pressure. monstrous kick drums drive it down below, pixelated stabs add suspense in the distance and icy hi hats slither in the foreground. it’s the sort of track to drop right at the peak time and it will surely go right off, with people fist pumping along to the groove.

moving into the latter stage of 2015, drumcode are keeping up the refined techno that they have displayed and are making sure that they continue to keep up this form throughout heading into 2016. steve rachmad is a name familiar to everyone within the electronic music scene. he has been a big part of the scene for over two decades and boasts a whole host of records and shows.
he has been remixed by the likes of ricardo villalobos, joris voorn and more. rachmad is now hosting his own studio 80 based club night kis where he plays mesmerising extended sets. steve rachmad is welcomed to the vinyl-only offshoot drumcode limited. disturbance is a punchy little number that has a stuttering synth that rises over the top of the pounding kick drum. steps takes it up a notch with a simplistic bleep pattern that modulates throughout that is awash with a throbbing undercurrent.

deeplabs is a detroit based record label run by luke hess. the focus for the label is to release detroit influenced techno for the dancefloor and to build a strong community of likeminded artists. the second installment of the warehouse sessions series highlights four artists: brian kage, liit, regen, and david hausdorf - all of which are masters at their craft. enjoy the music and play it loud. with love from detroit.

communist dub is pan sonic member ilpo väisänen’s second solo album for editions mego (asuma having appeared 2001). this striking new release is a statement against technocracy and the erosion of human community.

having debuted on valcrond video label last year with the immured 12- under her familiar xosar alias, sheela rahman now returns to the platform for some shared make-believe with founder luke wyatt for new project body tools. taking a catalogue number as its title, this two track 12inch follows a succession of body tools radio broadcasts on berlin community radio and showcases a softer, more hypnotic side which in the case of lead track locusts & lions hits hard when the poignant piano makes its presence felt. brave channels a strange, modern kosmische vibe that will really hit the spot deep in the mix.

rawax welcomes manooz to the family! manooz is a man on a mission. throwing down the sort of jackin house music that sounds like it was made with sweaty basements firmly in mind and still with a nod to his hip-hop roots, the manooz sound is making a firm impact on the global house music community. he constantly delivers a wide spectrum between raw & analog detroit/chicago/garage house and sophisticated warm deep house.

stepping up for the second ep on brame & hamos own imprint splendor & squalour is top boy hamo with his debut solo ep -the cotton club. with his partner brame he has already released staggering eps on dirt crew recordings and dam swindles own heist recordings. a fierce rise in the deep house community for sure! we already had a small taste of hamo s solo productions on the clockwerk ep that was released beginning of this year as the first ep on splendor & squalour. now we are giving you a full 5 tracker with a remix from box aus holz/ torben boy kickflip mike. the ep kicks off with title track - cotton club - a jazzy deep house jam, keeping the hip hop vibe present. up next is -wonce- which is a little bit more on the melodic side. we would also like to welcome more of our sligo family to the label with this side up, the hip hop trio is featured as third on the a side with the straight hip hop track in control. on to the b side we have the brilliant kickflip mike adding a much clubbier vibe to -wonce- a real early mornings bomb. to close the ep hamo has given us black lodge, a dusty house groover with delightful hi-hats and very clever sampling going on as in all his works, solo or with his homey brame.

emotional rescue returns to the post war music of west germany and the work of dominik von senger and his cohorts based around the dunkelziffer project. this special -sampler- ep of recordings was produced as their part in cologne s stollwerck art complex, that acted as a home and inspiration to their musical experiments. based within the disused industrial warehouses spaces of stollwerck, a mix of post-hippies, punks and anarchists created a community within that fed off each other s artistic endeavours.
