shawn o’ sullivan marks return to shifteds avian imprint with a four track ep under his 400ppm alias. following on from 2013s non nocere, the new yorker pairs trademark stripped back drum programming with heady, warping drones and frenetic sequencing. even at full throttle, careful attention to detail lends the productions a degree of musicality oft missing from contemporary techno. subtle nods to idm feature, and references to o sullivans work with katie o sullivan as further reductions remain in the form of spacious verb and fluid atmospherics, but the focus is undeniably on the dance floor. printed inner and outer sleeve... black vinyl.

• * sabato in pineta* is a track written by these 3 guys (cosimo colella, fabio liuzzi, carmine mongelli) after a great party between the woods of their favorite club, sound department. they capture the feelings and the emotions and write this track in few hours. the emotional impact is really strong, with a great work on surreal pads and trippy synths. the listener can be projected into the atmosphere of the club, but this is sure not only a dancefloor oriented work. andres, with his version, give us a great remix, with his usual amazing use of drums and deep and reminiscent pads. fabio della torre finish the ep with an high quality dub version, more raw and intense on the grooves.

two gold standard musical compositions i wont insult by labelling with a genre. *truth is the key* is one of my favourite tracks period, the arp solo just does it for me in every way. the vocal will be familiar as irene datcher also sang on the james mason lp (who also features on these tracks). *dreamflower* should need no introduction, famously sampled by erykah badus *didnt cha know* and many others. this is a sublime landscape is notable for ryo kawasakis dreamy guitar work, stone cold classic. both sides surprisingly have never graced the 7 inch format until now, absolutely essential 45.

rekids begins 2016 with the launch of an exciting new talent. south korea-born dj and producer peggy gou has been honing her production skills since her days in london. now based in berlin, gou has drawn on her years of djing to help shape a sound that draws on detroit & nyc house, as well as the african rhythmic sensibility and boogie funk influences she shares with early sounds duo nu guinea, with whom she had piano lessons and sought production advice from as her music took shape. in addition to her work as a stylist and fashion producer, gou has also drawn on her art & design abilities to create the ep artwork.

coeo are to toy tonics records, what master at work were to the house scene of the 1990ies: they bring the soul into the house. their new ep back in the days is a 4 track house stomper that could have been made in 1997 by guys like sneak, dimitri from paris or little louie. but still the similarities to the new berlin sample-house scene around max graef and hodini are evident, too. already their last years superhit native riddim (which is featured as a bonus track on this vinyl) included some heavy jazz samples they found in their parents bag of soul. native riddim has been no.1 in the traxsource charts for several weeks and was the basis for their already huge following. from laurent garnier to tensnake - the feedback has been awesome. now they proceed their way of souldful house. just good taste.

4 friends who rather be early than l8te. mechatok is the man. 18 years old, relatively new in the game, he is delivering on a level we didnt even know was existing before we got to check out his stuff. moving effordlessly between contemporary pop aesthetics, video game soundtrack and dubstep influences he produces music that could work as a score to the nasa end-of-the-year resume commercial but also gets your local dancefloor into new spheres. this of course is only one interpretation it could also be normal musik in some better place, we suggest you go there and stay as long as you can.

william has been an intriguing presence in sydneys music scene for over ten years, performing and releasing under several monikers including most recently, t.morimoto. as a producer and teacher he has inspired the work of artists such as seekae, cliques and cassius select. his ep annum contra is a diverse collection of percussive approaches and rhythmic studies that sees william moving in a dance floor friendly direction - whilst maintaining the idiosyncratic style he is known for. annum contra also features a handful of guests including lamtech9 and kid kairo

detroits jared wilson provides the 10th release for super rhythm trax and it lives up to it s title.
on *plate mining* and *idea of a deep state*, jared goes in deep with lush, strings that sooth you as the 303 works it s magic underneath. while *how deep* provides a brooding acid line and works the percussion. minimal but deadly.
jared has long been on the srtx want list after proving himself as a master craftsman with a slew of classy releases on his own 7777 label. super rhythm trax is overjoyed to have him on the roster being one of the most skilled knob twiddlers out there who knows how to work it but also and perhaps more importantly, when to hold back.
