the australian dj, producer and musician jad lee likes to have several irons in the fire all at the same time. for instance hes a member of mitzi (along charles murdoch and dominiqe bird), one half of the pan-pacific indiepop duo twiggy lashes and a solo artist known as jad & the ladyboy. under this moniker he releases music which can be described as soulful house with plenty of disco influences. for never come back down jad had singer mark borgazzi in his studio to cut a precious, groovy two-stepper into a genuine pop diamond. in order not to get only radio airplay, but also to be played out in gloomy underground clubs with extra fat subwoofers yannick provides his homicidal sexfactmix. with its untamed bassline and a milling-machine like synthesizer this feels like an unchecked punch to the gut. there will be blood on the dancefloor!

after more than a year in the making we are almost ready to release the final chapter in psychemagiks magik series. due to incredible responses from the artists we contacted we ended up with more tracks than we needed for one album so it was decided to release magik sunset in two parts. both albums contain yet more of the long lost and obscure tracks that the previous compilations have presented and part one is now available on double vinyl in gatefold sleeve.

after releasing with chris moss acid on shipwreck in 2014, drvg cvltvre is now back with a full ep of his own on dutch label cos_mos. since 2009, vincent koreman a.k.a. drvg cvltvre has been churning out his own acid, no wave and experimental house on labels like viewlexx and permanent vacation and now kicks off the new year in style with three more inventive offerings. new earth army is a slow, heavyweight and coarse track with rattling chords, angry percussion and elastic drums that manages to be physical and tough yet groovy and playful at the same time. we have become the filth of the universe is a big, fat, heavy wedge of slow motion techno with monstrous drums and wild acid lines all spraying about wildly for the duration. it’s a warehouse sized track that will reduce the ‘floor to a writhing mess and finally possessed is a sci-fi riddled track with lots of spacey synths, filtered analogue lines and paranoid sirens all making for a turbulent brew of dark and otherworldly energy. once again here drvg cvltvre proves he has a raw sound all his own.

the opening track on this double sided gynltd series comes from hironori takahashi. speclaz displays sharp panned cymbals and sonics, underpinned by a pulsey rhythm and modulated organesque synths. the takaaki itoh remix is a deeper and more moody affair, albeit with a similar syncopated rhythm structure and some tasty modulated acidic synth stabs with filtered atmospherics. on the flip-side, myk derill s crossroads takes a turn for a more broken industrial rhythm with looped vocal chants holding it all together before breaking down into a washed out synth breakdown, then returning to the pre-emnent fat rhythm and vocalised stabs. finally track 4 sees philippe petit remix, with the artist opting for a very stripped back 4-4 hi-hats/percussive workout underpinning minimalistic modulated synth and gentle bassy offsets. the most tooled-up track of this ep.

an ornate globe made with many layers of exotic woods spins on its axis. through the stained glass window diffuse light casts russet hews across the study. looking out over the walled garden to an orchard, great swollen purple and black fruits hang malevolently from mangled moss-covered trees. a gentle wind pushes the tangled branches and as they creak and moan the fruits thud lazily to the ground, gathering in mouldering clusters on the dewy grass.
