having cut his teeth with a cassette release of stripped back house for new york’s pastel voids, back in 2016, the portland based producer steps up and delivers four tracks that shift between chicago and 90s house styles right through to spectral jungle.

you see, vin and hny have history and to make this marriage official we needed it to be just right. big daddy vincente might be known around the world for his sure-fire dance-floor bombs, but not as commonly known for his queer ally reputation in san francisco. using his production prowess and dj knowledge to help bring up the bay area gay dance scene has built him a fanbase of all walks of life. we think this might be his most accomplished musical work to date, not just because it is for our label, but because it s a labor of love. the ep reads like a metaphor for the two sides of the city where it was made. moonchild and electrical storms reminisce the mystical and spiritual love affair san francisco has had since the 60s while patronize and bondage taped reference the sexually adventurous side the city indoctrinates to all its visitors. this record feels big to us and mostly because it reps our home and a hometown hero so hard. enjoy.

dmt 013 is philippe petit s first and only techno attack for 2017. the record starts with lose yourself (part i) , an atmospheric track with a groovy rhythmic pattern that builds into a menacing acid trip. it continues with one life , using some very clear dubby pads, snare and toms, its underlying baseline bringing a happy feeling to the e.p. lose yourself (part ii) is aggressive and hypnotic at the same time, its intricate structure leading the listener to a state of trance. the record ends with distant memories , a prime time techno cut with several layers of synths to cover all sound frequencies to devastating effect.

when octo octa sent us the demos for her first full-length record since 2013, we were floored by how many tracks were single worthy. but, there was one that stood out as something entirely on its own, a song that in many ways sounded like nothing maya had ever released. since the beginning, we always knew we wanted to do something special with adrift, the 8+ minute space-age synth-dub techno tune. when we asked maya about doing a 12inch with remixes we were blindsided to learn she has never had any of her music remixed before. with some remixers in mind, she asked two of her favorites and they said yes. so, here we are to present hny-016 octo octa adrift, remixed by avalon emerson and dorisburg.

for pressure traxx 013 we take things back to basics. two guys and four machines are the only ingredients for these old school bangers. on the a side we re very proud to welcome nail tolliday from the uk to the family. this legend is in the game for more than 20 years and has paid his dues for sure. -sentipede- (originally released on diy discs in 95) was produced on a roland tr 909, tb 303, sh 101 and one effect processor. it was live mixed and recorded in one take. no trickery and no bullshit! on the flip we have pressure traxx co-founder einzelkind cutting it with his 808 rhythm traxx 3. this is a recording of a 10 minute live jam with the roland tr 808. no arranging, no cheap effects, just one guy working this all-time classic drum machine live n direct!

013 materializes as a long player titled spectrum prints on machining dreams by myself. a single 12 inch with seven compositions, 3 ambient and 4 proper tunes that dig deep into ones psyche with emotive sounds and highly rhythmic syncopation. recorded with mostly analog gear, so the warmth is present as the sound pallette is completely full of life. in this project i try to cover a full spectrum of waveforms that are printed on vinyl, hence the name spectrum prints.

boskas british funk museum article no. 808 (barn 013) was a track that just had to be released on green vinyl, one of the finest examples of norwegian neofuturistic anglofilia ever and still very much a staple of our dj sets. were no dummies at barnhus hq, so of course we’ve been planning a full boska release on the label ever since we put out bfman808 back in 2013. almost exactly one year in the making then, santa cruz ep arrives. four slices of that fresh, clean, bass-heavy and totally melancholic scando-house we know you love.
