lost in time continues on it’s path exploring timeless underground house music with number 8 in the series. the ‘last step’ ep focuses on the extraordinary production talents of tuccillo, the italian musician widely regarded for his unblock studio. this record marks a deviation in direction for tuccillo, who is recently returning to his roots, making stripped down minimal dubs aimed directly at the dance floor. lostime008 includes four new cuts which can best be defined as ‘romanian’ style in essence. in fact raresh from a:rpia:r and livio & roby from premiesku are early supporters. the title track kicks things off with rolling percussion with more than a hint of latino attitude. dubby stabs and detroit style chords soon join the party and intricate changes in the drum programming keep subtly lifting the track throughout. ‘changed’ opts for a totally different tact, opening with lush, dreamy pads which evolve alongside rolling snare patterns and bass grooves to reveal a heavily harmonised spoken word vocal. on the flip side, ‘drum engine’ opens with feint, delayed vocal stabs which are joined by celestial, swirling pads, before being abruptly stripped away to reveal a menacing growling bass finally, ‘titled’, takes thing in a more minimal direction with airy pads and acid bleeps panning around the mix, showing off tuccillo s immense production talent

loco dices desolat label welcomes uk artist waff for its next ep, a meaty four tracker by the name of hanzz sup. in recent times, waff has really established himself as one of the beacons of main room house and techno around the world. from standout sets at key ibiza clubs to gigs at fabric, london via big underground hits on labels like drumcode, cocoon and hot creations, he is a real man of the moment. the title track opens the ep in fine style with hulking great big kicks reverberating down low as wonky tones and scattered percussion add more heat. barreling along and taking no prisoners, it is a hugely physical drum track with spoken word mutterings piling on the pressure. making just as big an impression but in less direct ways, the shuffling and bubbling karimba is a skittish, busy affair with tribal drums and vocal chants all layered up into something that is sure to become anthemic in ibiza this summer. on the flip side hypnotised works on getting into your brain with tight, scurrying drum and percussive patterns that never let up. its a dense, busy arrangement that makes for a high octane ride. last of all inception takes on more of a house feel, with well swung, low slung drums bringing the groove as hammering hits and frosty synth lines keep busy up top. this is house and techno that makes a big impact from one of the most on point producers out there right now.

the time has come again to welcome two new faces to the second state gang. introducing two of russia’s biggest exports and house elite, julia govor and tripmastaz. between julia govor’s recent meteoric rise and tmz s (the fresh alias for the more techno leaning output of tripmastaz) long discography of avant-garde clubland hits, the pairing of the two are a match made in heaven. over the course of three tracks the pair craft an expertly woven tapestry of hefty sonics resulting in their debut collaboration, ‘the probability’ ep. from the start, the aptly titled ‘1-’ kicks off with an enormous breakbeat kick and distant reverb heavy percussion forging a shimmering atmosphere as energetic hi-hats and swirling tones crescendo into a deep yet celestial fervor. ‘plus two’ sees the pair spawn their heaviest tune of the bunch as rolling low end and trippy, churning synths give way to a barrage of energetic claps and racing ride cymbals sure to make any dancefloor explode. wrapping up the ep is ‘equals tree’ where ethereal tones and flickers of delicate acoustics defy a monotonous yet robust groove culminating in a beautiful display of opposing forces. we couldn’t be happier with the outcome of this stunning ep and we know you will revel in it for a long time to come

one of the leading lights of a growing collection of electronic pioneers from russia, muscovite anton zap steps up with an album of gloriously deep, beautifully produced music for apollo records. with a background in sound engineering, a back catalogue stretching back to 2007 and a djing career that goes back a decade further, anton zaps music is imbued with a serious knowledge and understanding of electronic music - from ambient movements to the late night thump of deep house proper, here is a producer who is as comfortable making out-there space soundscapes as he is detroit-influenced dance-floor weapons.
the collection of tracks here includes a selection of previously released material (on jus eds underground quality imprint and anton s own ethereal sound) going back as far as 2008, along with three brand new tracks seeing a release for the first time, and the overarching feeling is of a portrait of an artist who has been slowly, steadily carving out a singular niche.

pavel ludin returns to poker flat wax with a gripping four-tracker showcasing his myriad of talents. born and raised in eastern siberia, pavel iudin found his way to the underground scenes of moscow and saint petersburg where he firmly established his credentials. the probe ep finds him at the height of his powers, serving up some serious burners. ‘probe 2&#8242,,,, is a throbbing, deep roller with shimmering synths and a shuffling, evolving groove - one for keeping the floor on lock whatever the situation. ‘halo’ has more classic feel to it, clearly a nod to the chicago masters of the 90s, but maintaining a tough and fresh feel that is all ludin’s own. half way though, things really open up into thick, swingy vibe via a killer bassline and snappy percussion. ‘probe 3&#8242,,,, is more acidic outing - although never resorting to the iconic 303, the track is a lysergic journey into dubbed out tech-house. closing out the ep is ‘groundlevel’ - a driving, loopy groover that uses ludin’s feel for atmosphere and tension to the max. the whole ep exudes a steely-eyed mastery of the studio and the dance floor - making pavel iudin one to watch over the next months.
