i-robots is an alias of opilec music boss gianluca pandullo, a long time dj and producer with a penchant for classic techno and electro cosmic disco. for his next project in the esteemed i-robots reconstructions concept series the italian re-edits some classic material, all with the permission of the original artists. the tracks in question are derrick mays hugely influential *emanon* cut, recorded under his rhythim is rhythim alias and originally released in the 1990s on his own seminal transmat records label – one of the most important imprints in the early days of techno alongside kms and metroplex. the second track – which was first released on metroplex, the label juan atkins founded in 1985 and then re-released and reworked on sound vision - is *game one* produced by the legendary juan atkins and orlando voorn as infiniti. the latter of these pair has already released a number of times on the opilec music label.

2013 sees the release of norwegian disco viking rune linbaeks latest long player, on his drum island label. its his first album since the 2000 release (sondag) on paper recordings repap offshoot. last years single wonder feat kurt maloo on the label was a day one sell out here at all ears and marked a significant maturing of runes trademark sound. the influence of norway on the worlds forward thinking disco scene & beyond is more than evident, with countrymen like todd terje, prins thomas and hans peter lindstrom all leading the charge for years now. the creative cauldron of the infamous club in a public toilet skansen has much to answer for! krasava is a very much vocal led project, with a cast of featured vocalists which includes norwegian popstar anneli drecker alongside recent collaborator Øyvind blikstad. the album is steeped in norwegian folklore, visually and musically and the gentle lilt of the norse/balearic sound, sits comfortably alongside more cosmic flavours, rock and beautifully crafted pop.

oh cruel science is the thirteenth enklav release, the second to be printed on vinyl, as well as the second work for enrico luccheses project evn.after his first mini-album cloche insecure, a 56 minutes journey in a dilated abstract land stretched in long dreamy melodies and at times crushed by squelchy fast beats, evn presents his more beat-oriented work.oh cruel science is a 5 tracks ep in which noises, synths and drums create evolving hypnotic textures, imaginary landscapes of repetitive pulsating patterns composed to be a complete physical-emotional-intellectual experience. evn sounds come from the use of analog modular synthesizers and digital machines with which he creates his own timbres and structures starting from scratch through the manipulation and modulation of raw waveforms and noises by means of meticulous patching and looping techniques.

after the success of the first three volumes, musica sol y mar are back with a fourth installment of balearic sound for 2013. the album contains tracks such as in alto mare from sultry italian singer loredana berte who delivers a killer piano-led groove that has been a summer favourite in the mediterranean since its release in the early 1980s, the dope slo-mo cosmic groove of my baby my by us soul singer sue ann cardwell which was a big hit on the white island as well as being popular with the afro and cosmic djs in italy.

this, more or less, is the narrative thrust of jack hamills debut album as space dimension controller. welcome to mickrosektor-50 is a swashbuckling sci-fi odyssey that unfolds like some long-lost star wars episode scripted by philip k dick and scored by tangerine dream. the record is fantasy in its purest form: a futuristic boys own adventure concocted in a belfast bedroom, it is the sum of jacks musical influences distilled into 68 minutes of unalloyed electronic pleasure.

limited reissue of this incredible and highly sought-after futuristic 12 from 1981. released on west african music, a tiny label from the ivory coast, and finding a spiritual home on the italian eclectic cosmic scene, both tracks on this 12 are brilliantly innovative and exhibit a minimal techno-esque aesthetic way ahead of their time. side as closer is a chugging sinuous flow punctuated by jerking monotone vocals, horn stabs and synth arpeggios with a strong dancefloor sensibility. flip over for stunningly weird electronic percussion workout tam tam - a crazed sparse soundscape of strange falsetto tribal chants, funky hand claps and drums, synth wobbles, spasms and tweaks. mystery surrounds the identity of the elusive artist codek but evidence points to it being an offshoot project of french new wave producer john marieux.

fluxus is danny scrillas first transmission for civil music and the munich based producers second release. following on from 2012s flash powder ep for om units cosmic bridge label, *fluxus* sees scrilla in expected fine form, and takes in four original neck snapping instrumental tracks plus two remixes from japans deep medi member goth-trad and london producer and one to watch deft. on fluxus scrillas productions run at 80-90bpm / 160-180 bpm exploiting slowfast halftime tempos yet are seemingly engineered from the sonic essence of 06 og dubsteps dark sparse dreadnought sounds, with waves of quaking bass growing under iced-out percussion accentuated by toiling snares. floating chords and hypnotic melodies drive skeletal riddims, sci-fi synthlines arc over the spacious heavyweight ruffage built for towering stacks and pitch black rooms.

ffr start well 2013 with a vinyl release which could be qualified as indecent, featuring an original track by phonokemi, remixed by two well respected artists, the italian nico lahs and the incredible german producer tim xavier. a release with multiple facets: deep, tech house, minimal & mental and chicago-bump-styleas we would come to expect from phonokemi, thoughts is a deep tech house track of extremely high quality. with a deep and pumping baseline and well refined vocals, thoughts is dark and groovy on one hand and an invitation to dance on the other, with absolutely no second thoughts.nico lahs s remix is an ultra-personal and mental re-read of the original track: minimal and elegant, cosmic and organic this track is reminiscent of some of ricardo villalobos s reference productions.finally tim xavier takes us straight to the centre of the universe: the dancefloor. his remix is a real dancing machine… pumping basses, efficient snares and sublime vocals that loop the loop and make this ep a killer release.
