following their acclaimed debut album, migration, on prins thomas internasjonal label in 2012, jamie paton and nigel hoyle (aka nigel of bermondsey) have seemed relatively quiet save for the odd remix here and there. tucked away deep in their south east london base though, a series of remixes and solo projects have been steadily forming. with new c&a material planned for 2014, plus more to come from jamies new solo efforts, as well as nigel making a long overdue reappearance in maurice & charles, now seems the right time to draw a line under their collective work to date. here then are a collection of unreleased interpretatons, including the sought after vocal remix of psychedlic darlings, in goats anthemic run to your mama. this is followed by a late night dub of 80s pop duo blancmange that mixes strings, guitar and some dub bass with a dose of space echo before bringing neil arthur s classicly recognisable refrain shining through. to finish is a remix of goats label mates teeth of the sea. fx-soundtrack vocal, bubbling 303 and 808 combine on a proper 3am dub that builds beyond some mere drug-chug.

piston recordings label boss rogerio martins is next up on his own well-established label with a new track that gets plenty of great remix treatment from joss moog, james dexter and jr from dallas. martins has steered his label through a dizzying amount of quality releases since 2007 picking up support from the likes of laurent garnier and john aquaviva who have confirmed themselves as fans in the past and this new release is sure to find just as much favour with the top dogs. >gonna be mine< is the one martins original and is a classical inclined bit of mature house music with sombre piano chords draped over nicely shuffling percussion. subtle human sounds litter the arrangement and more lively stabs enter the fray in the latter half but essentially this is all about the warm and inviting groove.

nach unserem geglueckten label-auftakt in 2013 wollen wir dieses jahr direktdaran anknuepfen. den anfang machen unsere residents der ersten stunde,kuriose naturale, mit ihrem debuet-release. die ep heisst >some might work< und laesst damit eine menge musikalischen interpretationsspielraum.der a1-track traegt den titel >madame psychosis< und hier ist der name dann auch gleich programm. durch seine duestere sound-aesthetik erzeugt das stueck eine einzigartige spannung ueber die gesamte track-laenge, die einen ganz sicher in ihren bann ziehen wird. weiter geht es auf der a-seite mit >up from here<, der deutlich groovebasierter daher kommt. getragen wird der track von kurzen aber doch eingaengigen vocals und einer hypnotischen synth-melodie, die einen fast schon an film-musik erinnert ohne dabei natürlich den fokus auf die tanzbarkeit zu verlieren. die b-seite beschäftigt sich dann ausschliesslich mit dem ep-titel >some mightwork< - angefangen mit dem gleichnamigen original, welches zunächst etwas vertraeumter daher kommt aber spaetestens ab der mitte des tracks seine clubtauglichkeit voll unter beweis stellt. den remix hierzu steuert kein geringer als kellerkind bei, der eine wunderbare oldschool-house interpretation angefertigt hat. durch die vocal-schnipsel aus dem original, die warmen chords und die voluminoese bassline fehlt es wirklich an nichts um auf jedem house-floor dieser welt bestehen zu koennen. wir freuen uns wirklich sehr mit diesem facettenreichen release ins neue jahr zu starten und hoffen sehr, dass ihr die freude teilt!

gerome sportelli presents sporty limited, a new record label managed by himself as a limited vinyl series. after big success with his krax records in 2004, veteran gerome sportelli is back with a new label project. the genre of the label swings between dance floor oriented house and techno, with a touch of acid and of course some dusty old school flavours. gerome�s already active in the music industry since the early 90�s as a producer, dj, label manager, party promoter and graphic designer. his music �smells� old school, just like the early age of acid house, but infused with today�s intelligent constructions and an engaged vision on music. gerome�s music is made from bronze age analogue synths, love, passion and modern digital mixing techniques.for this first sporty limited release, gerome comes out with three stylish tracks. the first track, a side �drive�, is a fat house stomper with strong stabs and female voice hits. the break is intense and works effectively on packed dance floors. b1 is called �free range� and feels like summer. it�s full of classic house sounds, filtered strings and hypnotic loops. this is a chicagostyled, disco sampled, deep and classy house track we love and cherish. the b2 track, �don�t go�, is composed with a classic house bass, shuffled 909 drums and dark space strings. you�ll immediately recognize the deep and melodic detroit house sound.
