2015 has been an outstanding year for django django with the release of their inventive second album ‘born under saturn’ which was met with rave reviews across the board. continuing that success, the band are ready to unleash four fresh mixes of the latest single ‘pause repeat’ which, as we’ve come to expect from django’s remix packages, are about as on point as it gets. the package starts out with an african beat paired with parisian synths on debruit’s indie dance mix. night slugs’ bok bok offers stop-start disco-infused euphoria. italy’s clap! clap! brings in off-kilter rhythms and infectious bubbles of analogue bass. finally one half of legendary glaswegian duo optimo, jd twitch, heads into deep, dubby and progressive techno territory.

ltd warehouse found! at night was originally released by shakedown in 2002. later on, acts like alan braxe and mousse t. produced remixes. the chab deep mix was a digital- only release via panorama records in 2008. a friend of 200 heard the song at a hawaiian sail rave and posted it on facebook. 200 records fell in love with the track and decided to release a vinyl version. this release also contains the epic martin buttrich dub mix which was originally also released in 2008.

after putting out releases from the likes of uk rave legend warlock and baltimore rapper rye rye produced by bullion, dave maclean of django djangos kick + clap label announces tom furses run to me suite with because music, due out 9th october. on run to me furse has mapped out the ep as one opus divided into five cohesive parts. referencing early techno it has one foot in cologne and the other in detroit, with its tightly worked, precise machino-florescence, condensed and upfront, and free of the pomposity that abounds in the genre. a sound enamored with kraftwerk, juan atkins and yello, it underpins a latent narrative on themes of love, machines and obliteration.

a cut *dain* is a stripped down techno trip engineered for dancefloors at dawn: a siren call to the club’s most battle hardened heads, its subtle machinations will prove deadly in the right dj’s hands. over on the b-side, *aula* is the eps more unpredictable beast, its rougher rave edges rounded off by a rich bass synth and enigmatic vox pads that give the track an unsettling air as it nears its conclusion. xj closes the ep with an insistent slice of acid with somewhens own playful modern twist.

midgar is proud to introduce a newcomer for the third release. a great debut for the maltese cloned, delivering not less than 4 cuts with sapphire 1990 e.p. the record, way more straightforward and groove centered than the previous midgar outputs, opens with sapphire 1990, track that sounds like very nostalgic memories from a timeless rave. thanks to a genuine simplicity and the great arrangement of its elements, this first cut has the perfect characteristics to become a dancefloor anthem. on the same side, a live out-take from cloned’s repertory, the pendulum swinging synth-lines which dominate pretty direct rhythmics filled with hi-hats and claps over a costant background noise. belgassem as the first cut on the b side, is an absolutely heavy one for the label’s standards, made of deep kickin’ drums and haunting voices empowered by a really strong and obsessive acid-line. closing the vinyl, the slow (and again really acidic) submerging is like a lysergic vessel headed to more comfortable dimensions, where groovy drums are embraced by very bright heavenly pads. sudden death is instead a chilled-out broken beat interrupted by confused speeches and detroitish pads, resulting as a modern ritual of ascension towards higher spheres. corel drives the release to the end, recalling most of its main features: a restless run through misty soundscapes along a path studded of bells and overwhelming, sharp hi-hats.

4th and final part of this legendary morris audio compilation series bringing some new (origins sound, manooz) and old faces (volta cab, julien sandre), but keeping the house vibe in different shades. up and coming origins sound (glasgow underground, lost) present a bassy pumping uk house tune whereas volta cab (kolour, hypercolour) goes back the the rave days and invites us to some hardcore heaven. the flipside starts with morris audio buddy julien sandre, who is still some kind of secret underground weapon, even if he already released on argys these days label or on tsuba. finishing off the ep is manooz (alive, extended play) with a great deep and raw house tune. this all is for you, seven daze a week!
