es sind inzwischen vier jahre vergangen, seit dem die amerikanische hip hop-supergroup la coka nostra ihr letztes album veröffentlichte. nach dem ausstieg des ehemaligen house of pain-frontmannes everlast aus familiären gründen übernahm der ehemalige non phixion-frontmann ill bill das zepter. zum kern der gruppe gehören außerdem slaine, danny boy und dj lethal (beide ehemals house of pain). als gäste sind sick jacken, rite hook, q-uniq, sadie vada, vinnie paz (jedi mind tricks), apathy und skam2 geladen. für die beats sorgen dj lethal (house of pain / limp bizkit), statik selektah, marco polo, salam wreck und chumzilla.

“dialogues” ist das vierte album der cold-wave-minimalisten motorama aus der russichen stadt rostow am don. nach dem erfolg des vorgänger-albums “poverty” und der anschließenden deutschlandtour 2015 erscheint nun mit “dialogues” das bis dato ambitionierteste album der band um frontmann und sänger vladislav parshin. für das neue album haben motorama die bandmagie ganz simpel mit einem portastudio von tascam eingefangen, ganz ohne netz und doppelten boden direkt aufs band. das ergebnis dieser selbstbeschränkung ist ein homogenes pop-album voller packender melodien, tanzenden basslinien und keyboard-hooklines.

ext returns with his follow up to the third installment of house shoes reputable “the gift” series with “arts & craft”. ext cleared off his desktop about a year ago and sent me everything he had been working on. all of the tracks were in various stages of development. some loops, some fully fleshed out, some sounded like sketches. it drew my attention because of the resounding innocence of the collection, an innocence that is more or less gone from the industry in 2015. listen and learn what it sounds like to just have the intention to create, not muddled with the star aspirations or big money dreams. just to create.

as earlier compilations of danza meccanica have taught us, italy gave birth to a disproportionate number of synth-pop, new wave and electronic acts in the 80s. mannequin goes deeper into the italian new wave archelogical research with a killer 10 tracks selection of carmody. picking their name from a science fiction novel titled dimension of miracles by robert sheckley, carmody were coming from torino, as their pairs monuments and chromagain. started as a duo (alberto ramella and andrea lesmo) and later a trio with max casacci joining in as a guitar player, carmody recorded from 1981 to 1985 and issued three incredibly rare demo tapes. sleep on mirrors compiles the best tracks from those tapes, bringing you one of the most peculiar 80s minimal synth music coming out of italy
