uk producer fono who is currently smashing in clubs with his track real joy on relentless, has ripped apart lean on the global hit, chopping up the vocals and adding some pulse to the rhythm. a relentless piece of electronic propulsion which has the clubs going insane.
the second release from the hlanganani label lives up to its mo to provide a platform for talented producers from south africa to shine, focusing here on deep sixty, aka young and fast-rising producer johannesburg producer thabiso mamogwa. back in 2010, the producer made it to london to take part in the red bull music academy, which is when the hlang team first heard the tracks that make up the mme hayo ep whilst some studio time on the same trip with todd soundmurderer osborn resulted in the thursday nights track which mamogwa previously self-released. in addition to deep sixty s own deep terror mix of mme hayo, the label have coaxed some fine remixes out of esa and william kouam djoko.
the next release on first music comes from profile with a beautiful picture cover! its a musical journey and a bomb tool for the upcoming summer months! we doubt that estonian-born artist viive kuks could imagine in 1984 that her euau-forte >viljandi vaade< (trnl. view of viljandi) will be on the record sleeve of a dubtechno record in 2015. moreover, that the birthplace of the music is also viljandi and that the graphics plate was stolen during turbulent times when a lot of countries were liberated. it was quite an off-chance and hard to believe that profile found a copy of the work at his grandparents place, framed and photographed the work for his 2nd vinyl release. and here it is, through countless threads and connections, through the memories of our forefathers. pure liberation.
*refugee camp (bootleg versions)* is a remix album of a song selection from the refugees 1994 debut *blunted on reality* and follow-up *the score*, released in 1996. the album features eight tracks, including seven remixes, and one new recording. 180 gram audiophile vinyl pressing.
the people behind the amazing mareh festival in brasil (the southern hemisphere s answer to electric elephant), drop yet more top drawer music as their label journey continues to gain strength. set in the lush settings of bahia where day blends into night and sun into moon, mareh continues to attract some first class artists from around the world to release on their imprint. the second release kicks off with glasgow based production wizard the revenge letting loose a late night groove that takes a blissful string sample and then works it for the dance floor. it s top stuff from the man with the roaring grooves. and rumours have it that the revenge himself will be headlining at this year s legendary nye event in bahia alongside tim sweeney, pete herbert & dicky trisco. next up is berlin based disco and house aficionado eddie c who drops an uber cool, cut up disco chugger that is likely to work your sunset and early morning sets to the max. mareh favourite pete herbert then steps up to the controls and delivers an upbeat, balearic dance floor banger that hits all the right notes and then hits them again. you can almost smell the hierbas on this one! last but not least, tokyo based englishman max essa delivers an electronic ode to late night dancing and early morning dips as he joins the dots between the tokyo underground and the fresh bahian surf. wonderful stuff. so mareh really are out to pull in a truly global sound to their label outing with glasgow, berlin, london, ibiza and tokyo all represented as well as their spiritual homelands sao paulo, and of course the place where it all happens each new year... bahia.
emotive tracks by two super producers who impressed cartulis day with their memorable sets. the collective invites tommy vicari jnr and anton zap once again, this time to showcase their music for the labels third release. tommy vicari jnr brings us a deeply playful side a track, well suited for those special after hours. anton zap names his track after crucifix lane, cartulis home for more than 5 years before it was forced to close earlier this year. he recreates that stomping ground atmosphere with this b track, sure to keep a dance floor pulsating during the peak of the night.
raw and oldschool infected bouncing house by times are ruff. huge back in the day vibes on this amazing 4 tracker. perfect for the summer. 180 gramm vinyl. shrinked.

the latest ornate music offering sees the welcome return of homepark duo rob glassett and sam fussell, last seen on the label with the fill emptiness ep in 2012. since then, homepark have gone on to issue just the one 12-, untitled for courtesy of balance, whilst glassett developed his fold project, making this return to ornate most welcome. the style glassett and fussell deal in remains ever consistent, fusing crisp machine rhythms with plush chords and strings, using the finest ingredients to whip up impeccable house music to burrow comfortably into any number of nocturnal situations. with melodic soul at its core, this ep carries the ornate message on perfectly from previous flag-bearers ka one & st-sene and jordan in a blissful blur of blue-hued synths and bumping drums.

a few years ago the world discovered a unique sound coming from the distant ethiopian capital addis abeba. the emotional blow was only matched by the brightness of this original and magnificent discovery. the ethiopiques series directed by francis falcetto and edited by buda musique provides a comprehensive landscape of this subtle musical universe where local and western cultures do magnify each other. this new ethiopian urban modern music release follows the first soul & groove installment and keeps revealing some essential parts of the modern ethiopian puzzle. an unequalled soul funk signature until today.
vinyl will never die. that is the motto which embi music is looking for. therefore promptly after the first success in the beginning of the year, the next limited press release is coming. this time straight from chile, with well-known artists larry peters and umho.remixes by miguel lobo and label boss daniele casa round off the package.
for the past few years, young denmark vessey has been releasing a series of albums, both as a leader of carious groups and as a sideman in various others, which definitely mark him as one of the most exciting young players in music. vessey’s last album prior to this (2013’s cult classic) employed scud one for the rhythm section. vessey, in his own playing suggest that he may be forging a link between the new mainstream and prior innovations. it is to vessey’s credit that this album achieves a surprising degree of unity. there is little of the haphazard feeling that too often arrends blowing sessions by pick-up bands. it would be easier to mistake this for a group which works regularly. part of that is simply because vessey is a part of the new mainstream, the part that is seeking beyond the accepted common language to find ways of extending it. the rest is because of vessey’s unusual talent.
fp197 brings functional dance floor tools to the ever expanding boards dialog. raw trax vol.1 focuses on a stripped down approach to vibe and atmosphere while giving a full on cerebral experience.
over the last sixteen years moods & grooves has amassed a staggeringly impressive label family that includes names like theo parrish, mr g, kyle hall, rick wade, andres & kenny dixon jr. aka moodymann. this may the legendary detroit label returns with a seminal double vinyl album from veteran dj & producer joe le bon entitled * house music love music*
for their latest vinyl release, the tink! music label looks to lisbon and the enigmatic duo gatupreto, whose modo di trabadja 12betrays all manner of influences that seep beyond the realm of house music. in their own words, the art gatupreto generates is simple, unpretentious and sincere, it owes to the classic rave vibe as much as to the rawness of hip hop as much to the sunset of cape verde as to the sunrise of the lisbon riverside.this manifests itself in two understandably diverse productions from gatupreto with the heavily percussive workout of vahagn s closing remix of grandi loba of particular note.
a nasa satellite has confirmed the ancestral tradition of the -music of the spheres-, that celestial bodies emit harmonic sounds. although the music of the spheres has led first to the notion of universal harmony and then symmetry, it has now been discovered that the sun s atmosphere actually emits ultrasonic sounds and interprets a score formed by waves that are about 300 times more severe than tones that can be captured the human ear. this time, orbe represents these sounds.
stephane lefrancois & jameson gilvarry team up for the latest 12inch from the secret music label and find inspiration from a canine icon of space travel. laika is named in honour of the first cosmonaut dog, depicted here on the cover art and lefrancois and gilvarry convey her journey through an uplifting, rolling techno cut that doesn t seem to stop building. complementing the original is a remix from dantiez saunderson who strips down the groove, while giving it a swung, offbeat feel. staying true to the original, this version also introduces another layer of melodic synths, extending the journey, making it deeper and moody. the booming, clean low end and bouncy high end keep the groove propelling forward.
a powerfull mix of house & techhous sounds.. a paean to the universe, the ep brings a fresh, new sound while being rooted in the spirituality and intent of the early days of underground housemusic. long basslines and a straight experience with ups and downs, newly interpreted and played with every track, is what makes these two artists so catchy. perfect buildup tunes, deep and jackin housemusic.
maintaining the focus firmly on the underground and keeping that no-frills party vibe running throughout their output, music is love keep things flowing at a steady pace with their 12th release. dedicated to continually curating original ideas, the premise behind mil012 is all about the label paying homage to their most prominent musical influences. leading the way behind the new concept entitled tribute, head-honcho oli furness teams up with one of his favourite producers - chicago house legend paul johnson - for a four track ep, with two tracks from either producer intended to highlight the impact of johnsons impact and influence as an artist.
introducing dylan stark. 2015s most deserving anti-hero. his quiet rebellion starts here. tropical, celebratory and alive, heartland sounds a like parade and a jungle. it has the cant quite put your finger on it, coming of age pureness of grimes, and the raw emotion of a burial record (but in a joyous way). it is pc music plus animal collective.
the double vinyl lp includes a download code.
this is simply a beautiful song and amazing collaboration between eagles & butterflies (innervisions, get physical) and super talented singer/songwriter j.u.d.g.e. its one of those rare standout tracks you might come to love and treasure for the rest of your life. no more words necessary, hit play and let the music do the talking.

here one of his big hitters let me go feat. elif biçer gets remixed by deep house legend fred p, as well as leo cubanero and deadbeat. new york s soul people boss and underground talent fred p goes rst and unsurprisingly his track is spiritual and way below the surface, with emotive female vocal coos and skipping drums all laced up in mesmerising and soulful pads. then comes leo cubanero, who has been producing on label like festplatten and nachtfrequent since 2003, and he ips the track into a liquid tech house affair with libidinous vocals and freaky synths and pads that add as spooky air to proceedings. lastly, montrealer deadbeat lays down a sublime minimal dub remix that is gooey and lazy, elastic and seductive in all the right ways, especially when the sexy vocal comes in
shadeleaf continues, with a strident 7 out of 7 on the scoreboard! following a stunning (and sell-out !) ep earlier last year, the north easts answer to michigans finest, steps up again, with probably his strongest work to date. mannmademusic became known very quickly, over the space of a few low key, but expertly realised edits releases for the likes of glenview, lumberjacks in hell & diner city sounds. this ep sees him continue wearing his influences proudly, but re-imagine them in an altogether rawer framework - samples woven together, augmented and redefined, some of it following the classic kdj blueprint but laid out in a style thats all his own. those familiar loops submerged and unfurling, rubbing up against altogether more off-kilter but coherent workouts, sat alongside perfectly measured electronic jams all combining into an ep that stands head and shoulders above the competition. another shadeleaf sureshot!
following our robert hood / floorplan coup in april, epm music now turns to two other legendary figures of electronic music sonic minds d-knox delivers two new tracks while metamorphics dan curtin is on remix duties
