anouka started a year ago with her first sets on soundcloud and the response was incredible, building her fan base consistently. her debut ep traveller is released on soso, the label that she runs together with zusammenklang and oliver schories. the ep reflects what anouka always tries to express in her sets: showing that melancholy and happiness are very close together and they can work harmoniously. she recorded the vocals for both tracks by herself, which was challenging yet very rewarding. frequent traveller kicks things off nicely with its melancholic moodiness shining through as we meander effortlessly through berlin inspired melodies, while the sultry vocal sits wonderfully on top adding an extra layer of depth. christopher schwarzwalder is on remix duties, and from the off creates tension as this atmospheric rework subtly growls as it grooves. its sparseness is the key here, as this restrained gem works its magic. liberty is next as it tinkles away, creating a warm glow, and its caressed with its spoken french vocal, creating an air of sophistication. and rounding things off nicely is the midas 104 remix. this mystical touch up takes the energy levels up a notch, but increases the melancholy further and adding an air of just the right amount of wonkiness and quirkiness.

gdm (glaswegian dance music) pioneer - sparky (aka dave clark) is back on numbers. having spent the last year on lockdown in his luxurious garden studio we have finally managed to wrestle two tracks out of his ageing hands. signals is an all-new track, first heard on dave�s essential mix for bbc radio 1 (aired as part of jackmaster s made in glasgow), and now in the sets of ben ufo and jd twitch. signals is classic sparky, nailing that sweet spot between the proto-techno sounds of british synth pop and the dancefloor nous of the motor city. the flip is a snarling metal-bashing beast called tigress which comes direct from his archives. we ve been on at him to release this one for almost a decade and after playing a 192 mp3 at a pretty boisterous numbers x optimo party last summer, sparky finally relented. one day we ll convince sparky to let us release all the music sitting in his vaults but for now here are two gems from a man whose music has played a pivotal role in the history of numbers.

die verboten are a space rock band formed by david and stephen dewaele of soulwax, fergus fergadelic purcell and henry riton. this is the first album from die verboten, written and recorded in 2007, rediscovered and mixed in 2015. this lp consists of five tracks, dafalganger, white island, e40, nacht winkel and aquarius. it is the sound of classic german kosmiche, live drums, synths, percussion and a loose funk you only find in these kind of stretched fluid grooves. the album was produced by die verboten and recorded and mixed at deewee. artwork is by ill studio / fergadelic. die verbotens debut ep live in eivissa was released in 2009 via londons vinyl factory (now selling for over £100 on discogs) and was recorded poolside in ibiza.

we are proud to announce the double lp edition of echospaces phase90 project, lovingly remastered by bazza (abbey road studios/thom yorke) @ alchemy mastering, london. features unreleased new material and beautiful silk screened metallic sleeves and art direction from the very talented lindsay todd of firecracker recordings & house of traps. the entire album was bounced down to 1/4- analog tape prior to remastering to preserve the integrity of the masters. this project was deeply inspired by the possessive quality of supernatural textures, field recordings and found sounds conducted at the calvary cemetery. there is something quite haunting in the underlying tone of these recordings, an ominous feeling not for the fainthearted. -illuminati- celebrates the progression of the soul, a concept which stems from metempsychosis. the material on this album can be interpreted as sinistral--dark, heavy due to the hardware and its currencies emitted by its source--the phase 90. an acidic dream of transliminality, this is the first phase90 project to materialize in its essence, until now. limited to 500 numbered copies.

we are pleased to present with * black hole* by meta.83 the work of a consequent defender of the art of analogue production. the soon available track * black hole* by the liebe*detail co-founder jinxed us from the very first moment and it was clear to us, that we d like to add a number of top-class remixes beside the original. for this we were able to win no one else then the tobias and borrowed identity (after his recent release on pastamusik * crack in the box ep*). the powerful acid bassline in the original version as well as in the gravity version creates from the very first moment a hypnotic undertow which seems to keep increasing throughout the track. its masterfully celebrated how to generate effective hits by carefully chosen elements and canny used effects. tobias also devote the focus in his interpretation on the acid aspect � but with more dynamics and with a higher beat frequency which will make every techno-djs heart beat faster. when carefully set tones are fading in and out this version gets a brilliant final touch. the remix of borrowed identity sounds in its structure more dirty and rough and though at the same time very fragile. a wonderful gem in pure culture drifting towards a black hole ..... perfect.

cold colors was born in bordeaux, france, in the mid 70s. his passion for music, particularly new wave and melancholic atmospheres, started early and strongly influenced his own creations years later. the first records he ever bought were the cure, depeche mode and soft cell. in the 90s, frederick bought his first guitar and composed songs under the name agent orange. in 2002, the cold colors project was born, with a release on the excellent lux records, as well as many live performances. fred loves working with machines. his music mixes warmth and melancholia, an obvious homage to cold wave and new wave, by blending todays electronic music with the melodic sounds of yesterday.
