der junge schweizer produzent diego: sein fuenftes album hei§t -open-. waehrend es gerade die tendenz gibt, den klassischen detroit-track immer genauer auszukomponieren, das verhaeltnis der klangfarben in harmonien und kontrasten genauer abzustimmen will diego sich frei spielen. wie bei mathew johnson, dem shooting-star der szene zur zeit, ist (free-)jazz der hintergrund dieser musik. bei -open- geht es weniger um die komposition, sondern um das was im einzelnen moment moeglich ist, darum an welche unwahrscheinlichen momente man die architektur des technotracks hinbringen kann. die bandbreite der sound-konstellationen ist extrem gesteigert: die bassdrum als basaler druckgeber wird oft in kompliziertere pattern aufgeloest, die orientalischen sounds tragen nicht mehr notwendiger weise den track, sondern wehen blo§ in momenten heran. aber was erklingt nun? mal ist es die blo§e kraft, mal glutrote hitze, mal treibende wut, spaeter feinsinniger charme und satte schoenheit.

das nŠchtliche gemunkel am tresen bei bier und klaren war irritierend gewesen: aufs neue album, so drummer zimmermann und basser strohmeier, wźrde das lo fat orchestra auch kinderchšre und ein streichquartett packen. man dachte mit grauen an Çthe wallÈ, konzeptalben-bombast, artrockkacke und hoffte halb, das sei nur der berźchtigte schwarzwŠlder humor. jetzt ist Çthe second word is loveÈ da. nicht mit kinder- aber mit chšren und natźrlich mit streichquartett. die befźrchtungen zerbršseln im nu, wenn im opener Çbe honestÈ die bassdrum nagelt, die elektrizitŠt in der luft rauscht und singt, bevor der sŠgezahnbass und schmids gesang und orgel einsetzen. alles gut! alles besser! alles: mehr!
